The fact that he’s always surprised when the product works as advertised Kind of speaks to the “quality” of these as seen on tv products
They're usually garbage get quick rich schemes so they bad a name reputation.
The way that vacuum does lines you would think it would be from Studio 54.

I think the "no bending" refers to how far down you would need to bend down if you used a dust pan.
I dunno if it is specific to where I am, but here we have dustpans on tall handles, so no need to bend at all.

@@ktaragorn Most dustpans sold have no handles although you can purchase them although not in most local stores, usually by mail order where I got mine.
They could add one word before the word, no. "Virtually".
Because NO means none of anything of the words coming after it. i.e. No Trespassing, No Skateboarding, etc.
That plus how tall the user is. I always have to stoop when using a broom
One thing I learned in life: wet and set! Wet down your counters and let the water do the scrubbing, THEN go back with a towel. Same as the vacmop. Spray and let it set a few minutes. No scrubbing!

They both work pretty well, but it would drive me crazy vacuuming a 1 inch swath at a time.
I just can't imagine spending $80 for that broom.

Honestly as a professional house cleaner, I see “cordless” and I just walk away lol. Wouldn’t even use something cordless in my own house. Nothing more infuriating than finishing half the house to have to go stick it on a charger for 20 mins. I’m a do it all at ONCE type of person lol. I mean obviously these are for quick messes probably, I’m just still angry about how expensive dyson vacuums are for a 20 min battery life on average. HA

Im able to vacuum my 1200 square foot area pretty easily with my dyson v10
Batteries have come a very long way. Most cordless products now can make it through a whole house fairly easily.
I’m also a professional house cleaner and I stay clear away from cordless cleaners. Yeah they’re convenient bc you don’t have to unplug and plug the vacuum in a couple times but if you add an extension cord it solves that problem and you don’t have to deal with a limited battery life.
One wouldn't have to carry the heavy battery if only there was some way to have electricity in every room in say a socket, and maybe some cable to... oh, wait...
I'm just waiting for someone to come up with "Tac Broom" or "Tac Vac".

I was looking into vac broom with this review I am glad to have stayed away, you did a good job explaining, just something I could not use.
James, I would love to see you try a Hoover Floormate or a Bissell Crosswave so badly. They will deep clean your floors like nothing else

The VaBroom would actually start to really irritate me. I don’t like the fact that you have to turn it sideways to use the vacuum portion. It would be much easier if you could just leave it the other way instead of having to turn it on its side. When you turn it on its side it gives a very very narrow area of what you can vacuum. Since that area is so narrow you have to go back-and-forth many times to try to pick things up with the vacuum portion. The other one that you could dry mop and wet mop and vacuum you were able to leave it the long way, normal way, to use the vacuum portion. That allows you to be able to quickly vacuum and be able to vacuum a much wider area.
Much agreed. If you want the good version of these, look to eBay. The “vabroom” is a really really bad copy of the early 2000’s dirt devil broom vac.
I was thinking the same. Turn the tube 90 degrees, so you could slide the last small dirt alongside the broom and it would go directly in the tube. Or at least have the option to turn it. Cus i could see it behind a dresser, it would be ok to have it like it is.

I usually sweep first and then run a vacuum over it.
That's why I was excited to see that two-in-one sweep and vacuum.
But the vacuum part is just too narrow :(

@@Dirty_Bear22 i do it because the vacuum pushes some dust to the corners. but a dust pan is much more effecient than getting the vacuum
I do the same, I think if they made the compartment for the vacuuming larger I’ll definitely invest!

I'm so glad you actually followed the product instructions for the VacMob, to wait for the wet area to dry before vacuum the debris. Not following instructions stopped my vacuum from working lol.
For me, the VaBroom required an awkward transition from sweeping to vacuuming. After I swept my dirt into a line, I had to stop and think about how I needed to hold the broom so the vacuum would start. And it always seems to be in some weird, totally unnatural position!
The swiffer wet jet has the same jetting, and it's like $20

Or the Bona Mop Kit which works quite well. I buy Bona cleaner by the gallon and lasts a long time!

I think the old broomvacs would be more more convenient. I kinda liked them. no more dustpan lines!
@@Blackheartvacs I never had the chance to handle and use one, but I do remember them well enough. You reckon they were better designed? Would live to get my hands on some spec sheets and take them to a mechanical engineer for analysis. For now, I'll continue using standard brooms and regular upright vacuums.
The F19 models can still be purchased second-hand for cheaper than the $80!
@@jaklumen I've only used the first generation model but it was like a combination of a broom and a vacuum essentially picking up debris as you swept. While i've not tried a vabroom I think the concept is much less convenient.
Shark, in my humble opinion, make some of the best vacuums for home use on the market.
1: Shark products have some really crummy quality and often break after a few months of service.
2: That broom is a joke. Bring back the old Dirt Devil BroomVac.
My Shark is much better than my Dyson ball was. Sooo easy for regular maintenance (cleaning dog fur and sand out of filters)
These two products looks like a toy to me. The vacuum on the broom will make some nice scratches on softer floors like wood, pvc or linoleum.

It looks so cheap, I don't know which piece I would end up breaking first: that plastic door, or that hose sticking out of the side of it.
@@_androo_9202 tbh if you have finished wood floors, the plastic scraping back and forth can cause micro scratches in the finish which will cause it to lose its sheen and look out of place.
While you won’t see the scratch itself, the areas that are micro scratched will look out of place.
But if you’re already using a plastic bristle broom on your hardwood.. the whole thing might be full of micro scratches already so it won’t make a difference
That vacuum tube from the broom could probably scratch hard wood floor if you have to press it down and drag across the surface
Bet the Vabroom would be good in an apartment or dorm.

That’s because there’s already a company called Vroom. They make a retractable hose system for central vacuums so you can clean up quick spills.
The Shark VacMop is pretty great. It's the perfect tool for a quick pick up around the house

I didn't see the prices so I checked into it. The VaBroom is $80 and the VacMop is $100. I think I will stay with my broom and dustpan and a Swiffer. Seems easier than dragging these things out and making sure they are charged. Great job with the reviews!
Ive had the VacMop for about a month or 2 now and I got it on sale for about $80 (the model before the one your reviewed), but the recurring pads is annoying. All in all, I LOVE it. Don't get me wrong, you will still need a broom around the house for large messes, or other hard to reach areas, but the VacMop is so convenient. Its small, is under 4 pounds, its very powerful, it can be hung up in a closet or behind a door, its cordless, its quiet. Compare that to my $190 Hoover I have had stored in the garage for months without use because of how clunky and heavy it is, the cord everywhere. Just preparing it for use and storing it away as well as cleaning out the basin was a chore in itself. So, I 100% recommend the VacMop. Its not a solution to all messes, and I wish the pads scrubbed more than just a light passing over fresh spills, but the pros outweight the cons!

I want to get the VaBroom for my husband. We have a Dyson hard floor attachment but he prefers the plain old broom, but will leave a pile of debris on the floor until he gets the Dyson to vacuum it up 😂 perfect for him! Thanks!
They seem to be both very clever products, they may need a little more time and development to be better but I can see this being the next thing to buy for house cleaning
wow never in my life did I think that there was a broom that had a little vacuum attached to it.
I really love that idea, I hope they tweak that so we really don't have to bend but that you can maybe pull a lever and have a wider suction area to the nozzle that sucks up the debris., I would totally get that because I have neighbors that don't like to hear vacuums at night you know what I mean? Thank you for your reviews! West would we do without you? I get so discouraged of buying stuff and returning it and with so much going on you just don't want to keep on doing that so there's so many things we just don't try.

Merry Christmas everyone. Since we are talking about vacuums, I highly reccommend a company by the name of Bissel. I have the Bissel Crosswave for over two year now and I am still thrilled.
Essentially, it vacuums and washes at the same time. Very good product

I have seen ads for the VacMop, but you really showed how it worked better than the ad. THANKS! Not thrilled about the VM's recurring costs because the planet-friendly side of me is trying NOT to toss plastic into the local landfill. The VaBroom is a non-starter for me.

I got the VacMop for Christmas. Mine is apparently an older model, with no LEDs, and a regular charger. But that's fine, it was a gift. I wish it had the LEDs simply because on my floor I can't see where the spray lands. I've been really happy with it, we have a small house with hard floors and kids. There are crumbs all over the floor and small wet messes with spilt drinks and food, etc. It's ideal.
One thing about the Vabroom is that it can get under the cupboard edge better. For older people that have issues with balance, either one of these would be good to have. Though I think the Vabroom would be easier for elderly people.
I see the broom being especially good for elderly or those who have a tougher time bending up and down
You need a good eye and full motor skills to use it... cutting dirt into lines and sucking it up through a small hose on the side of a broom? The idea was great, but the design is terrible. ...and $100 for a broom is nuts.
@@nambypamby2147 Perhaps there are improvements to be made, but that goes with anything without saying. I know several elderly folks who would benefit from this broom. And while $80 for a broom is much, you also have to realize that this is a crowdfunded item. Many of these crowdfunds are going to have a tougher time breaking even than some of the other brands that have been around for generations.
Not that it's a related product but I have two "hybrid" vacuum cleaners, although in both machines I think they prefer to be called, "cleaning systems." They are also a bit better built and are incredibly expensive compared to these toy-like units. One is the Rainbow that does wet and dry cleaning on hard and soft surfaces as well as purifies the air and the other is the Kirby, an upright powerhouse that vacuums, performs shampoo encapsulation on rugs and the newest models also mop hard floors. The Kirby is also used to "fluff" carpet (helps repair harder matted traffic areas in carpet) and polish hardwood. Now these machines aren't pick up and go but are full-sized semi-commercial-grade units. The Kirby may be seen in some carpet cleaners vans as their pre-vacuum system before they use the truck-mount carpet extractor.
Received the Vabroom as a gift, I 3D printed a wide nozzle attachment, made it easier to vacuum up
Broom/Vacuum--dust pan is way faster. Mop/Vacuum--worked very well as one would expect for a major brand product. Only drawback I see is debris tends to collect right under the cabinet overhang in the kitchen. Having the vacuum port only in the center of the mop head would make it hard to get those debris. They need to add a vacuum port on the side. Maybe have a way to switch between side port and center port.
I have not watched the whole video yet, but I cannot believe that there is a $70 product out there in 2020 that charges via micro USB and not USB-C.

I think when they say no "Bending" it implies that you don't have to bend in the manor of using a dust pan, or kneeling down. In those cases you are bending down to reach the floor. Great video! I think I may get the Shark!

You can likely use any solution in the VacMop. Sam's Club has a no-rinse floor cleaner I used with a similar kind of unpowered mop that has a reusable microfiber mop head. You have to dilute the cleaner with water, but it should work fine, and it gets your floors spotless. It is meant for restaurants and is safe to use on any flooring.
Both products are going to consume more energy & time than regular cleaning products. I really appreciate the demonstration of revealing the truth.

I have a Bissel Steam Mop...LOVE IT!
Vacmop is impressive, I like the aspect of adding a vacuum for those occasions you catch some crumbs while cleaning the floor , can see myself replacing it instead of housing both mob/vacuum
Although the vacuum broom thing.. ehhh it's good, but why spend time gathering the stuff in little strands when the Broom could make easier work of it in alot less time, like the concept though can't wait to see how it improves
The VaBroom is significatly less convenient than a standard dustpan and brush.
The mop could easily replace the plastic with something more eco friendly.
The real test is seeing how they both hold up after a few uses.
I've only had my Vabroom for a month and the suction nozzle just stopped working suddenly (full charge, so that's not the problem). Using it the same as always, no rough usage or anything like that. Must just be crappy electric stuff.
Aaaand of course my husband didn't save the receipt. 😩 So now I just have a heavy broom that I now am back to using with a dustpan.
That sucks (or doesn't suck... Lol just being punny) but seriously, I hate that about buying things these days. Even when they work the way they are advertised, they end up breaking soon after purchasing. They're made cheap. I can't count the number of products we've had to toss out because they stopped working in less than a year. It's no wonder there's a trash problem. As clunky/ heavy as a Kirby is, my mom's still works great 20 years later!

They advertise that you can use any cleaning liquid. I'm going to try Bono. I absolutely LOVE my VacMop, much more than I expected. It is a quick way to keep up with the whole house and have it looking and feeling clean. I got it primarily because I have back problems and vacuuming with my regular vacuum is painful. So although I still have to use the main vacuum on occasion I am so happy with my little Sharkey VacMop.
I like the mop vac. It seems more useful the broom one seems like it needs a wider vacuum end to give move coverage.

I would say it's the exact opposite. But that's just my opinion.
Both look great but I think the Vroom is slightly better in the fact that it's a broom so you can get into corners, under furniture for a longer distance. That pet hair gets everywhere lol
Looks good for a small RV like mine. I have a tiny vacuum for the carpet too, so either would go well for the linoleum around the kitchen. But I can not see using something like that in a big house.

I could actually see this being a godsend for people who have trouble bending over all the way to the floor with a dustpan or rag.
I have a disability so bending down for a dust pan while sweeping is the absolute worst. The vabroom made the crippled me VERY happy. Might not be perfect but it helps wonders

Have a Vacmop. it works pretty well. If I had a complaint about it, it would be that when going under stuff like a chair it lifts up off the floor.
Also you're supposed to vacuum first then mop. Instructions say you'll clog up the vacuum part if you do it while wet

I’ve always had good luck with Shark brand products and they are terrific with any warranty issues.
That vabroom is honestly the best thing I've ever seen. Nothing pisses me off more than that line of grit left at the lip of the dustpan.

I have a dustpan vac I freaking love it. You can turn it on when needed or use the motion to activate it. It has a filter that you just rinse nothing needed

Shark has a steam mop that also shoots spray cleaner, it works so well, I wouldn't even bother with that thing. Like you said, it's pretty much a Swiffer with a vacuum. And I would probably smash the door on that broom and break the hose on the side within a week. Cool idea, tho. Good review!

Get a steamer with a mop attachment. These are great for cleaning floors, but have many other uses... Keep a spray bottle of cleaner in your left hand and mop with your right hand.
You should've dropped the glass, too. That would've been interesting. Funny thing, I just washed my hands with a new soap. I suddenly started smelling the unfamiliar odor while I was watching this. Now I think your house smells like vanilla and honey. 🤣
Intriguing. I'd like not stooping or crouching to use the dustpan. I have a cordless Dyson for all floors, and a steam mop for cleaning, so these would be a frivolity for me.

I would LOVE to get the broom one. After having 4 back surgeries. Bending over to use a dust pan is laborious. Often I end up sweeping things into a pile. My daughter will do the dust pan part. I see the broom an excellent choice for those disabled like myself or for the elderly. The company should revamp the suction nozzle so it more liner shape & a tiny bit wider.
The shark one looks more like a vacuum with an integrated mop...
