How To Build A Three Wheeler Assembly Platform, and put a new battery in your Big Red 250ES!

- I'm tired of bending over, hunching down, squatting, kneeling, crouching, whatever the word you want to say is.... but I'm over it! I want to assemble and work on three wheelers comfortably! But... I don't want a lift permanently taking up floor space in my shop... So, I decided the solution for me was to build a platform that I could use that could be knocked down if I needed to and tucked away.
I sketched up what I thought would work and here's what I came up with! What do you think so far??

Nice work Preston! I did one similar last year to work on my vintage dirt bikes. For the top I used a sheet of white MDF. That stuff chips easy at the box stores. My table was not quite a full sheet wide so a sheet with a chipped edge didn’t bother me since it would get cut off anyway. I pointed it out to the salesman at HD and got it for 75% off. Plus the nice thing about that white MDF is you can write on it with a dry erase marker, and it wipes right off with a little cleaner. Handy for writing down measurements and build notes.
That is a fantastic idea! I like it! Maybe on table #2 that's what I'll do!
The right way, the wrong way, and the this old trike way! Great video brother!
There's a lot of that sort of thing in my videos! lol
That's going to be one sweet work station!
I hope so! Hoping it proves to be very handy!
Great idea. Drill a few holes in the top to store your JIS screwdrivers. Thought for sure you were going to paint it Honda red. Looks great!
I've definitely been thinking about how to incorporate a tool area. It's on my mind!
That’s a beautiful dining room table if I ever saw one!
Isn't that maple great!?!?

Very nice! I’m definitely gonna make one, work on the top storage on the bottom very well done!
Thank you!! And can be wheeled out of the way with ease. I can think of dozens of times when I had something on jack stands and it was permanently in the way for weeks!
What a table! I was thinking a few days ago about attacking a project like this. Not once did I think about making it the shape of the 3 wheeler! ❤
The detail work is incredible as well ( the trimmed edges ).
Beautiful. Looking forward to seeing a full machine on it!
Thank you sir! I'm pretty pleased with how it's turning out!
looks great Preston!
Thanks Jadon!
Very nice, excited to see the finished project. I'd say you nailed it... er uh "screwed" it.
Thanks brother!
Very nice project man! 🙂👌
Thank you!!
Homemade atc stand?! Gotta see this!
Yes you do!
23:50 only when curtie stops by
That was definitely the exception, not the rule...

That definitely was a special occasion!
Gotta 185s and 125m, but 185s absolutely mint no rips in seat, plastics are intac, really surprised I was able to trade a snowmobile for it I definitely got the better end of the deal. Just sent the 125m to a mechanic tryna get that running good.
That's awesome brother! Super exciting! Hope the 125M comes back purring like a kitten!

Yes sir!
Cool
Thanks brother!
I have a dumb idea, could it be possible to have a ramp under to top surface and slide out to put the atc up on the stand and then it just slides back in on little drawer type rails like a landscape or dump trailer
That's a possibility. I'm not sure that it would be worth the fabrication though. 2 2x6's or 8's with a metal tab on the end would do the trick too... I'm pretty sure I can lift things though. Might struggle with a Big Red I suppose. Anything less I'll probably be find with.
👍👍👍
Thanks Doc!
In search of a 350x running 2k is the budget in New Jersey surrounding area
That sir is a pretty tall order these days... I wish you luck!
me too!
Here
For sure!!
Oh hey 👋
What's up man!
Not just a purdy face lol
Howdy sir! I'm glad you checked in! Back when I tore down the 88 Big Red you had asked if my wife had taken up baking. At first I didn't realize what you were saying, but I eventually did... and I just wanted to report back and let you know I've lost 20 lbs since that video! Looking to lose at least another 20! Thank you for being brutally honest sir! It, among other things, inspired me to make changes.
Sorry Preston , was just pulling ur leg my friend
It motivated me! Don't be sorry! I was getting out of control!
Looking nice. I'm looking forward to seeing the height and finished platform. Should be great for your assembly. Good broad base for space to have your parts and pieces at the ready. 📏📐✏️🪚🔨
Thanks brother! I'm excited to test it out very soon!
