I can't count the interviews I have watched with this guy and he just continually impresses me with how down to earth, respectful, and cool he is. I've never seen him treat an interviewer shabbily, and he seems to actually enjoy talking about his gear and career. He really seems grateful to be where he is, and it shows. I'm guessing that a lot of folks that have a stature as iconic as his are not as gracious to interviewers and fans.
Totally. The only thing that sucks about Brian Baker interviews is when he occasionally gets into the political talk...and he does it enough for me to mention it here. hehe. But yeah..he is one of my favorite guitar players...in one of my all time favorite bands..and he has great taste in guitars!
Got to meet Brian in May before their show in the Netherlands when they toured Europe this year. He actually is as nice and genuine as he shows in the video. He takes time and doesn't mind talking to fans or people that want to know more. One of my inspirations for playing the guitar!
Great gear chat! Baker is definitely my fav punk rock guitarist. Always loved the simplicity of his set up, and loved that he’s been rocking the LP JR’s.
It's sooo cool that the guitar player from one of my favourite punk bands owns and uses an amp borrowed from the guitar player in my other favourite punk band :D
Brian Baker is an awesome guitar player. He’s a punk rock icon. His time in Minor Threat was cool. I like his guitar playing on the “Out Of Step” album. His and Lyle Preslar’s guitar playing on the album are good. “Out Of Step” by Minor Threat is a Hardcore Punk masterpiece. It’s awesome. Also, the meat-men, Dag Nasty, and Junkyard are cool. I think he’s still in Dag Nasty and other groups. Anyways, Bad Religion is awesome. To me, “they’re the “Iron Maiden of Punk Rock”. They’re just as good as other bands such as Iron Maiden and LOVEBITES. Mr. Baker’s guitar playing on the Gray Race album and others is good. Bad Religion is awesome. Yeah, other than that, cool:).
Eric Sutherland, that is true. But, he’s cool as guitarist. Minor Threat is better as a 5 Piece band. I play bass and like Steve Hansgen’s bass playing on the “Out Of Step” album. He’s cool. Lyle Preslar’s and Brian Baker’s Guitar playing are good as well. Jeff Nelson’s drumming and Ian Mckaye’s singing/vocals are good. The “Out Of Step” album is a Hardcore Punk masterpiece. Other than that, cool:).
Re-watching this video in 2024 and now there are small modelers like the Tonex pedal or others I guess they now don't need to carry two big kempers everywhere for just a simple tone.

2:52 there's NOFX being used
Loved the name of the preset on the Kemper!
Surprised there was only one comment on that
Kempers are the best!

I think I'm in Love with this Man while listening to him speak
You got to do one with Jay Bentley!!! He’s got THE bass tone.

Brian looks really well. Not drinking clearly agrees with him.
best band ever!
That's some high-end simplicity.
The best and unmentioned... the cat guitar straps
I'm aware your comment is 1 year old but the strap is made by Couch straps
What a cool guy. I though he has been playing Les Paul DCs lately?
Fucking love Bad Religion.
Mike plays the double cuts..

@@JTPrime08 didnt brian baker played bass in minor threat?
@@coronasucks7602 He played bass on the first EPs, and played guitar on Out Of Step.
Wow this is so cool !!!
Simplicity baby!
The Gibson gold top is looks like the Kazuyoshi Saito model
Les Paul Jr 🖤🔥
8:55 Spinal Tap reference! (don't think the reporter got it)
I feel like he could probably replace the Kempers with like a Friedman IRX and maybe a Seymour Duncan power stage if he needed it to push a cab
cool times

Didn’t trogly review one of those “one of @9’dlŵw
i see marshall i only see 800..sorrry
Yeah my heart broke a little too when I saw the Kempers, but I get it with today's sound demands/sketchy rentals and fly dates.
As much as they tour... The Kemper deal with voltage irregularities venue to venue far better.
the crack guy!!
Woman tone Jimmy page? Yardbirds? My man, woman tone was Clapton in Cream. Not page.
FUCK TRUMP UP: new song!?!
Never heard of them.
