Been driving S-Class for about 100k miles, and about 45k miles on BMW X5, I've switched to this Zeekr 001 with Z-Sport kit two months ago. Pretty awesome chassis dynamics and comfort is better than S-Class without magic body control on, pretty sport with sport mode on and it's able to track down Tesla Model 3 Performance on road. That's a pretty utility car when sport, comfort, performance , passing ability, load capacity, they are all combined in a wagon. Pros: Quiet, comfort, sport, you can take custome profiles to what you preferred at any moment. Nearly no range anxiety to one person, 340miles, 80mph, sport profile. Cons: With Z-Sport kit it's a brembo 6p caliper, brake pads are manufacture customized, will cause some noise after several brakes the disc warming up, and becoming soft along with. No third party replacement found yet. 125mph speed limit.
The interior is very high quality, nothing like those VW/Audi cars with some very bad plastic finish even in the 200k $ cars. Finally some competition, good for the consumer ...
They just released 001 FR, like a beast. Chinese EV is very competitive in the world. They got good UI interface design, great Batteries packs, and motors.

The very same battery packs absolutely suck in the Lotus Eletre which uses the same (or near similar) chassis platform, with reviewers & new owners complaining about the very poor range they are getting compared to what Lotus was stating the car would be getting... Buyers beware on this particular EV...
I’m currently in Jing’an Shanghai. I concur. There are still the European brands ppl buy. I think due to brand recognition. But eventually, the Chinese brands will dwarf them. I got into a taxi yesterday and the brand was Leap C01. The screens and comfort is second to none. And it was only 200k. The western brands can no way compete with that value for money.
Zeekr looks amazing. The real World range is about 720 which is way more than enough (driving more than 400km without stopping is bordering on a crime tbh putting yourself your occupants and everyone else at risk

I don't want a Telsa, BYD Seal looks too fussy inside and out, Mercedes all too expensive and the boss certainly will not let me have a Porsche. Any update when this will be arriving to our shores? They are essentially at the same tier and the same price range. Also "budget car" is ambiguous and product dependent. Lynk & Co also have high-end performance cars like 03+ TCR version, sold at roughly 430k CNY. This ZEEKR also have something like 001 FR sold at ~770k CNY with over 1200 hp.
& the Lotus Eletre version has been absolutely canned by reviewers & new owners over the terrible low range...Seems alot of exaggeration & misleading figures in how efficient this car was supposed to be...Reality now says differently...
Too bad this thing has an NMC battery which degrades much faster than modern LiFePO4 batteries from other brands. I really like this car, but the battery immediately takes it out of contention for me.
If you never bring something to market and then even say that when it finally will be sold in Europe (whenever that will be) it will only be the old version… for twice the price that the much improved new version is sold in China… That is not how you make life difficult for your competitors.
These European brands outsourced all of their parts to China thinking they would harvest big bucks betwwen buying dirt cheap and selling for premium. Little did they realize that the same shops that made window button for S-Class would offer it to thousands others left and right. I think for consumers Chinese companies copy pasting can be a plus. But here is the thing: chinese do love to mass produce but the one connecting all in one product quite often skips the quality part, meaning many of the chinese shiny products will have to be directly sent to a trashcan, making the amount of trush pollution even more than it already is.

Geely. All EVs have reduced charge speed at low temperature. Battery pack needs to be preconditioned for fast charging.

I love it. Looks amazing. Sadly in the USA the regular EV infrastructure is not a part with the cars. Tesla will keep winning the battle until then.
