- The Tesla Model S Plaid is the fastest Tesla ever built.
It can reach a top speed of 321kph [200mph] and accelerate 0-100kph in 2.1sec [0-60mph in 1.99sec], claimed by Tesla.
Zeekr is a Chiese car manufactured that came out of nowhere [established in 2021], and the 001FR is one of its first sports-performing models with 4 motors [1 for each wheel], with a top speed of 280kph [174mph] and acceleration 0-100kph in 2.07sec [0-60mph in 1.98sec] claimed by the manufacturer.

Zeekr is totally claustrophobic as eff and a bit messy. Has the same feel as Polestar. I just don't understand how people think it's luxurious. And not to mention they just totally copied Tesla Model S and added an extra motor. You guys should totally watch the number of Chinese EVs catching fire without proper battery cooling. Thank God Tesla does it and people are safe. They can add anything in a preproduction model. Once it goes to production, things change. Almost all companies when they are doing demos which I'm sure is in this video too, in my guess is set to performance mode already. In Tesla you have to do it to open up all the juice. There is a reason why it's done that way. Battery. If you don't understand that, anything you say doesn't really matter.

This is a Tesla gadget channel I don't expect it to be fair. Seems Biased, you wanted Tesla to win you stated "for the community", no temperature check on Zeekr n why would someone wait for Tesla to reach optimum temperature. Also since you mention you don't know Chinese can't be sure you selected the quickest mode in Zeekr. Also last race zeekr 0-100 in 2.45 doesn't make sense, should be 2.07 but i do expect Tesla gadget channel to be biased.
No, you need noticeably more power to even keep up with the Plaid... Reason are the carbon sleeved motors in the Tesla apparently co developed with SpaceX, it simply doesn't lose torque as the power increases, look at the Plaid power curve. Even the Taycan turbo GT with a heavy 2 speed gearbox and 100hp more won't keep up with the Plaid after 150 mph
Maybe on prepped surface, but on normal road, you will never get ideal numbers, plaid can do 0-60 1.9 on prepped track but on street it’s closer to 2.2s.

My Plaid only takes 5 minutes to warm up the battery in dragstrip mode unless it was stored in freezing weather. If I've been driving it for a while, it only takes about 2 minutes to get into the ready state since the battery is already optimally warm just from normal driving.

and in the second race the Tesla use it,, and they just advetised the "Sexy Button" product that can enable the DragStrip Mode just with one click of button without touching/searching in the screen Menu,,
*if in the first race Tesla did use DragStrip Mode (*even without wait to preconditioning the battery) the Tesla should win maybe just a bit slower than 2nd race by 0,1/0,2s

The 001 is Geely's flagship car, it's one of the best from China.
Lucid Sapphire is quicker than the Plaid. However, it is really expensive.
So is the Rimac Nevera, and that's even more expensive. You should see that video where they were racing a Ferrari SF90.
The Sapphire also has no reliability records, its build quality is no better than the Plaid and it is severely overpriced. When the new Plaid becomes available it’ll be faster of course and will render the Sapphire useless. Real talk.

Zeekr is a Chinese car manufactured that came out of nowhere?? It belongs to Geely Group as a sister brand of Lynk & Co targeting high end electric car while Lynk & Co targeting low to mid end market. So even it is funded in 2021 the brand is announced by Geely and Volvo in 2016 in German.
The reviewers have absolutely no idea what they are talking about, this is not a review, it's just a commercial to promote the Tesla. Pathetic.

I never saw a Zeekr before, till I went to Israel. These cars look so good. The interior could compete with many German cars even. Shame we will never see them in the USA.

Strange that you didn't mention anything about the zeekr battery temp. That's biased in favour of the tesla. Both cars were in equal condition in the first drag and the zeekr won. That's the true result.

Zeekr 001FR has a 'Raikkonen' drive mode. You have to pay extra to get that. Not sure if this car has it. This mode is developed with F1 champion Kimi Raikkonen. Also, the true advantage of Zeekr 001FR is it's corning speed. There are videos on UA-cam of testing these two cars by Chinese car media. On straight line, they were close. But running on track, Zeekr was much faster.

For such a small price difference, I would have gone for plaid, it's a no-brainer if you are buying that kind of price range.
Chinese EVs are about to get a 30% tax increase, so given a chance everyone will get a Plaid, unless they build a factory to make one.

When I saw the stats, I thought there was absolutely no chance the Tesla is losing this. The Plaid is not actually 1020hp. We don't know how Tesla measures their kW power but on dyno, the Tesla reaches up to 1,100hp. So realistically the difference, given that Zeekr provides more reliable numbers, is just over 150hp. That with nearly 300kg difference combined with the fact that the Model S is more aerodynamic means only baad stuff for the Zeekr.
On the other hand, it is more of an SUV, so still incredible too.

Funny that they keep mentioning zeekr is Chinese while most of the development is done in Sweden as far as I know.
This is why I like Carwow, they do 2-3 races with the cars they have, if one car wins twice consecutively, that car wins at only 2 races, if the car wins the first race and loses the second, there’s a third one as the decider. There’s none of that here, I may love Tesla, but please be fair in preparing these drag races, I like having any of my favorite brands win on level playing fields, if the Plaid gets a preconditioned battery, the Zeekr gets its battery preconditioned. Do your research with the cars you work with and test them with their selected drivers before putting them head to head.
It’s a BS drag test. The Zeeker driver even doesn’t know his car. His job is to push accelerator. When S-plane lost the first round, the battery temperature became a point, this means S-Plade has its know weak point while NO ONE IN THE RACE Know how to set best performance of Zeeker. That the BS part! Because it raced between one car set for best performance while No Knowledge about its rival.
It’s handy cap races regardless who win, it’s meaningless.

@@Heartfromsomewhere Tesla also use CATL & BYD batteries. Heating or not is by brand set up. Point is how to set Zeeker best performance when tester even don’t having any knowledge about the car. The driver even can’t move the car first time. Just know how to push the gas. The race is between know well VS Don’t know cars. Means tester have no credibility.
I like the Zeekr, but it's unlikely to come to the U.S. anytime soon. I'd stick with the tested/proven Model S Plaid if I had the money to drop. But for now, I'd probably go for the new Model 3 Performance. I've sat in the seats and they are super comfortable and supportive and I love the look of the Highland refresh. It's a lot for the money.
Now if the S3XY buttons worked a bit better in my older Model 3, I'd REALLY like that. I programmed one to do a brief horn honk and it has a frightening lag (+>1 second, which sounds like not much but it's usually far past the time I need it). And then there is the door presenter option. Sometimes it works. Sometimes not. And sometimes when I just walk by the car (several feet away) in a parking lot or if am sitting close to it at a restaurant, then it pops open when I don't want it to. I have to circle back or get up from my table and close the door again.
Do you have the second gen buttons? They have virtually no lag.

It is the opposite here in New Zealand we do not get the Model S but soon we will be getting Zeekr EVs. I drive a Model S Performance 2020 as it is the last of the right hand drive Model S.

To clear things up
2019-21 model 3 standard range plus cars have a 0-60 of 5.1-5.3 seconds with a 1/4 mile of 13.1-13.3
2022-23 Model 3 RWD (previously known as standard range plus) has a 0-60 of 5.8-6.2 seconds with a 1/4 mile of 13.9-14.3
2024 Model 3 RWD has the same specifications as the 2022-23 RWD with a 5.8-6.2 0-60 with a 13.9-14.3 1/4 mile.
Now for extra information, all model 3 rwd's are limited by 50 HP however tesla does not offer the acceleration boost, so for anyone wondering about the true horsepower of a standard range plus model 3, including an RWD model 3, it is 333hp since that's the amount it would have after a 50 horsepower boost option.
However since the cars are speed limited from 0-45 mph by 50 hp, that's the reason why the HP remains 283, and also the reason why you may notice that they feel quicker on a roll than off the line.
If tesla gave the boost option, the 2019-21 standard plus cars would do a 4.6 0-60, and the 2022-23 RWD cars including the 2024 RWD highland would do 5.3 0-60.

I’ve driven a model 3 for 4 years now. I’m picking up my Zeekr 001 performance on the 1st of August; my Tesla feels like a piece of plastic garbage compared to the Zeekr. The quality and ride are on a completely different level.

If I go deeper, it will turn out that ZEEKR's battery type is better than Tesla.. I choose ZEEKR 001RF. I wonder if you will soon test both vehicles on a race track to test their stability in turns. I'm sure the Zeker would have been bought in good numbers in the US because of its impressive design compared to the Tesla S

Yes. In the beginning we were not. But then we saw how to launch it after a few minute work.

You guys absolutely rock in general. Best 3rd party Tesla product company I’ve come across so far. If anyone is on the fence about getting Enhance’ sexy buttons or knob, just go for it. You won’t regret it. Hell, the navigator unit that is the brains behind it, justifies the cost on its own with everything it lets you customize. FWIW, I have a ‘24 M3 RWD. I use Navigator for presenting driver’s door (when I’m away from home), and the continuous autopilot, which is really nice. I use 6 buttons. 4 of which I stuck under the center armrest. 1 dedicated to the glovebox (this one is on the globebox), 1 for folding and unfolding the mirrors, 1 for presenting the passenger door or either of the rear doors (single click, double click, and long press), 1 for turning on all interior dome lights, 1 for flicking on and off the brights, and 1 for turning on seat cooling, seat heating, or steering wheel heating. I use a number of these daily.

How come you didn't warm up the battery on the zeeker. And why no best of 3 race ?
You need to read more about the cars. Zeekr has a new style battery that does not need warming up. It doesn’t even have the option for that.

The Zeeker also has 4 engines. Put 4 in the Tesla or a Sapphire....then race.
The S3XY buttons are so useful for heating up the battery no matter where you are. I got my 2024 Model 3 Performance to do a 10.75 @ 127 mph 1/4 mile by preheating the battery for 7 minutes. It would have been closer to 10.95 without heating the battery. I really love using the S3XY buttons to control the turn signals too. The new buttons on the Highland Model 3 make no sense at all. I just use the S3XY buttons now.
I was thinking the sext buttons to help with the indicators would be a win. Where did you put them?

It would be weird if you make a newer car and more expensive, to be slower than an old Model S
2525 - 2265 = 260 KG heavier, not 150 KG as mentioned in the video. On the Tesla S Plaid page however the weight is stated as 4776 Lbs = 2166 KG.....making the weight difference about 360 KG
under 6s to 100 in petrol cars is great performance figure. It's already faster than most Japanese vehicles. EV acceleration just starts in different level

Specially if launch control is not activated than under 6s is good. Nobody uses launch c in normal public driving

You guys should have warmed up both batteries to make sure it was a fair fight. Tesla plaid only won by a nose hair 😂😂 for a Chinese car to even be able to keep up with a tesla plaid just shows how far the Chinese engineering has come
The Chinese car is using a battery that has no need to be warmed up. It’s a different technology than Tesla. So this is the best result you can get (unless you start taking parts out of the car, changing tires, looking for the right asphalt and so on)
China needs to invest more in the design department. That Chinese car reminds me of Hyundai and Kia designs.

Don’t say stupid things. Of course it was in sport mode. You get a Zeekr and make a video how it goes faster then. Stop looking in promotional videos of Zeekr and see real use videos

Zeekr looks funny. Personnally I didn't like the design of Zeekr. On the other hand Tesla looks much cool inside and outside. For most people don't need how fast it would take 0 tp 100km. Most of the time we go in traffic and lot of intersections. Indeed we need function, safety, confortabilty and practical.
It's something like you need to wear things during special moment until that you fear that you will loose control
