I was expecting the end to be all like: "Surprise, bitches! It was Sigma all along!" But honestly, it's a nice change. I really like how this game kinda fleshed out the Mega Man X universe a bit more, with all the different characters and what not making the MMX world feel more real. And Zero. He was perfectly portrayed in this game and I love it.
Kinda late but I agree. This was my first X series game as a kid and I was disappointed by the other ones. Even the original series. They're all the same shit, fight 8 guys for some made up reason, explain whatever just happened, go after some other bad guys, then MWAHAHA IT WAS THE SAME GUY FROM THE LAST GAME ALL ALONG! At least around when X introduces him to everyone and completely disregards X's judgement because a hunter assigned to them (not befriended by X) betrayed them. Yeah great reason to inconvenience the mission like that. But he gets better afterwards and redeems himself, so he's not bad. maybe it's just that one section of the game where he was or of character. It just made no sense story or gameplay-wise.
I never realized it when I played this years ago, but it bugs me now how majority of the character just....stand still when they're shouting emotional dialogue. LOL
Yeah, and how the only thing X did to fight the rebels at the beginning was shoot the rope thing. Pretty stupid but I guess not much is supposed to happen then anyways XD
yeah. voice acting was a major improving over X7 (although i think it wasnt all that hard) but they still flawed when it came to animate the cutscenes. not sure if it was due to PS2 limitations or they just didnt had enough budget/time or they just rushed shit

Definitely one of the most underrated RPGs of the the mid 2000s, and for me its one of my favorite just because of how fluent the gameplay is. Simple, yet efficient without getting overly repetitive. Also a great length and difficulty; my last playthrough I did virtually no grinding after the first boss fight.
Really wish the new cast members did more and had a bigger impact on the story and scenarios than this. Once Zero and Axl join in, everyone else becomes superfluous to the point you forget they're there

Zero got more spot light in X Series Because Zero was the Hero, and X got a lot of the credit for taking down tyrants, even though most of it was a team effort. X wouldn't have been able to do most of the things he did without Zero. So to me It kind of reflects How X is telling their story, or Zeros rather, because it continues on into the Zero Series. The X series was only the prologue to the Zero Series and told through X's point of view. But that's just my opinion on it. and it really doesn't but it makes for interesting conversation :P

Funny thing is, if you put attention on the final cutscene, Ferham explodes with the S.F.M., making possible the Rebellion Army goal of explode the 'warhead' at the atmosphere. So, yeah, the Rebellion Army won at the end.

X wants as few casualties as possible. He frequently shows compassion toward his enemies, and it's not strange at all that he'd react that way to a former enemy achieving redemption through death.
To this day, Ferham to me sounded like Phillip or his sister from rugrats when she yelled out the word in caps in the quote below: "I thought you said you wanted to FIGHT" Its a stretch, but maybe they are played by the same voice actor.

Just finished playing it. This is a very funny game, altough it feels a bit unpolished in different aspects (Map design, writting and battle mechanics). Its a bit sad that Capcom didn't include a single Megaman spin-off in any of their Legacy Collections.

Bruh they should of made a hard mode for this game where u fight multiple bosses at the same time. Ex: Scarface and epsilon would have been so hard but so dope to fight against them as if they were a duo for the final battles
There’s codes out there online that say you can play as Megaman instead of X and Protoman instead of Zero….but, alas, they’re fake codes. :-( Those codes also say you can unlock hard mode... also fake.

Just finished playing it. This is a very funny game, altough it feels a bit unpolished in different aspects (Map design, writting and battle mechanics). Its a bit sad that Capcom didn't include a single Megaman spin-off in any of their Legacy Collections.
I would love to play this game (because it seems more fun to play than to watch), but alas...

I wish this game had a boss fight mode where you refight ALL of the bosses again (their levels and power scaled to your current level of course).
I mean you do get to refight some but about half and I think itd be almost poetic to refight Shadow or Botos with supraforce metal in your arsenal this time lol.

Bruh they should of made a hard mode for this game where u fight multiple bosses at the same time. Ex: Scarface and epsilon would have been so hard but so dope to fight against them as if they were a duo for the final battles
There’s codes out there online that say you can play as Megaman instead of X and Protoman instead of Zero….but, alas, they’re fake codes. :-( Those codes also say you can unlock hard mode... also fake.
