jesse, you can use item pipes to transfer items without increasing the item limit. though these pipes are incredibly slow, they can connect directly to machinery, incinerators, chests, drills etc.

Pipes aren't that slow In terms of speed it's just that their path finding is bad and they are leggy when containing alot if items
