THANK YOU JARED!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was ready to toss this camera out the window. You made the manual come alive and make it interesting. I'm 71 and just got my first dslr -- I need all the help I can get and really appreciate being able to SEE the process rather than just read it off a page. The EOS Rebel T6 is my camera, so this is perfect.

I bought my T6 about 6 months ago. So far I've learned the basics of photography from that camera. Love it! Frankly, it's limiting my progress at this point, and no, I don't suffer from GAS. I just need a FF sensor, too much noise in my night photography for starters. I could go on but I'll save you guys from the boredom, lol.
Not my first time watching this vid btw. Thanks Jared

I've been in manual mode since my 2nd week, thanks to Jared, Tony & Chelsea, Manny Ortiz, Ken Rockwell (he got me interested in photography, and YES, it was because he made it seem non-intimidating, no RAW talk). I shoot both BTW, idk why since my phone automatically converts my RAW files to jpg...
      Great community guys

Thank you so much for this video! This is a bit of a TMI, but trauma healing has been one of the most grueling processes for me this year, but it's also opened up a lot of new passions for me that I never had before after losing the ones I used to have. Canon was always the first choice for me, but they are known for being expensive, so I was so happy when I found this one, but was worried about the lower cost. This really taught me a lot

Can you share any tips on video gear used for this video or compression to achieve this quality especially after uploading to UA-cam? Looks like a well lit corner, controlled on all sides. The crispness of the video is impeccable; not too sharp, not too soft. Man, this is the sort of stuff I dream of doing in my videos. Really, you're the man.

Very glad to find this video! My last "real" camera purchase was an early Canon SLR, the TX (fully manual and not digital so you know it's been a while). It took great photos, mostly 64 Kodachrome slides that still look great. This Rebel T6 arrived today and I'm excited to start using it. Instruction manuals are all well and good, but this is way better.

Unfortunately it will not record the full 29:59 in either 720p or 1080p, because it stops recording when the file size reaches 4GB. You end up with about 12 minutes of video at 1080p/30f or 720p/60f. The excuse for this is that the formatting of the SD card limits the file size. It is true that FAT32 does limit file sizes to 4GB or less. But this camera also uses EXFAT, which has no such limitation. Formatting your SD card in EXFAT (with a computer) removes the FAT32 file size limit, but the camera still stops at 4GB regardless. It's done to prod you into buying a more expensive camera, not unlike the inability to connect any sort of external microphone to it.

Great tutorial Jared. By the way for people who are saying 60D is better that would be a false statement, you can easily compare the specs between the two and you see the pros of T6 series.

      What?!
Did you actually get the right specsheet? are you sure you didn't have the T6i specsheet in front of your nose?
