    4 people have died in the past couple of days in 3 separate, unrelated crashes on highway I-43 in Manitowoc County, Wisconsin all from crashes that involved guardrails (I wish pictures were on the news because I’m curious how these happened). Guardrails are not a magical spell to prevent loss of life or property, they have their pros and cons. Thank you for your work and advocacy!

    I pass by the house on my way to work, and it’s one of the reasons why I found your channel. This has been going on for YEARS yet no real solutions have been done other than those huge rocks. Thank you for covering!
    The city wanted to put in guardrail but Ohio said they couldn’t so they put those giant stones in front of his house and that has helped his house getting hit but it’s still a huge and dangerous problem.

      I think the most recent accident involved a pickup that pushed two of the rocks up into the yard. Or am I behind on the incident count?

    But Steve a round about would make too much sense. This is government. How about a committee to look into the issue instead. In six years they can file a report with recommendations that could include a roundabout and then it can be ignored.

    • @famousamoso7
      @famousamoso7 Рік тому

      A roundabout wont help. You will still have cars that are driven by drunk/incompetent people who go straight through it. And now because there is a mound in the middle you've introduced a ramp for the car to now go airborned into the home.

    They should, at a minimum, replace the green circles in the traffic light with left and right green arrows. The green circles indicate to drivers that they may go straight, which is NOT the case. They could also put a W2-4 sign on the approach to the intersection, to let drivers know that this is a T intersection.

  • @Unduplicatable

    I would demand they install several speed bumps, and if they won’t do it then I’d make my own! Also, roundabouts generally increase the likelihood someone will travel through that intersection, however they greatly decrease the ambient noise levels. A roundabout would be helpful. Although massive boulders that can be at least 7 feet high would be perfect.

    I've always wondered why they put signs up that say "guard rail damaged ahead." Why? Is someone supposed to say "oh i better be careful not to hit that one." I never understood this. The only conclusion I can come to is so repair crews know where to look🤷‍♂

  • @mitchtucker5768

    The ninety degree guardrail would probably suffice for vehicles at city street speeds. Also, if people are blowing straight through the intersection do you really think they can negotiate a roundabout?

    If he puts boulders in his front yard to protect his house and someone hits them and dies, is he liable?

  • @LowJSamuel
    @LowJSamuel Рік тому

    If the problem is people not noticing the intersection and not slowing down in time so they continue straight through it, how would a roundabout help? It seems like the people wrecking would just hop over the center of the roundabout and still plow into this guy's house.

    • @Domedwho
      @Domedwho Рік тому

      Because a roundabout is more visible than a 4 way stop?…. Are you this dense to seriously ask this buddy? Lol goodluck

    • @LowJSamuel
      @LowJSamuel Рік тому +1

      @@Domedwho I asked a serious question, no need to be rude. If visibility is the problem, then flashing lights leading up to the intersection (which I would hazard to guess are already in place) would do the trick. Installing a roundabout for the sake of making an intersection more visible seems silly... especially in this case where it is a three way intersection. If the person can't see the literal house, why would they notice the center of a roundabout?

  • @famousamoso7

    The underlying issue is DRUNK AND INCOMPETENT DRIVERS. It doesnt matter if there is a guardrail or a stone wall. Cars will continue to crash because they are drive by drunk incompetent people.
    Stop wasting resources trying to blame the intersection.

    reminds me kinda of the weird crosswalk josh klinghoffer ran over that pedestrian in LA or where ever it was. I am hating on him real bad for that because pedestrians have the right of way. pedestrians made the laws from the civil rights movement and stuff also and that pretty rare phenomenon but I think there should be respect for the law that pedestrians have the right of way.
