Dak Prescott is not worth a max contract. It also has yet to be determined if Aidan O'Connell is a franchise QB or not. He played pretty well in his rookie season and Davante Adams likes playing with him.
In 10 starts, O'Connell averaged 215 yards, 1.2 combined TD's and 0.6 INT per game. That comes out to a full season of 3,655 yards, 20 TD and 10 INT. It was his rookie season and it was not a smooth one with their coaching staff changes.
I hope O'Connell starts and finishes with 4,000+ yards and 26+ TD's to solidify himself as the starter moving forward versus paying Dak Prescott over $50M per season.

I’m not that high on AOC and I’m not sure on who the top college prospects are in the next year’s draft are yet but with Dak and his contract we wouldn’t be contenders. We’d be better but not in Super Bowl contention and I believe it’s better to roll the dice now than to be good but have a ceiling and have to roll the dice in the future.
