  • I had never seen this product before and have never seen it reviewed so I bought it along with a Chianti and Balsamic Stir through Sauce £1.49 p to review ! So what were they like ?
The Black Bean Spaghetti was very good - I cooked it for 4 minutes which left it Al Dente - it had a really nice texture and for taste it was very similar to ordinary pasta - it is Gluten Free and naturally high in Fibre and in my opinion it is well worth a try - I would buy it again and I can recommend it and score it 9 out of 10
The Chianti and Balsamic stir through sauce was excellent with the sharpness of the wine and Balsamic vinegar cutting through the sweetness of the Tomatoes - I will be buying this again and I can recommend this and I give it a score of 10 out of 10

Mmm even though you say it’s tasty it doesn’t look appealing to the eye ! Maybe blind folded I’d enjoy it. Great review graham xx

Good Morning Andrea, thank you for the comment - is it because of the colour ? I know black foods can look quite off putting as they say we eat with our eyes ! however this was really good and something I will buy again ! it is worth a try ! I hope you have a great Monday whatever you are doing ! I am going to the Hospital for a change ! :-) XX

Good Morning Tony, thank you for the comment and the fathers day wishes it is much appreciated - I have 3 children but they never bother with fathers day - I agree it would be very good for Halloween and it is very good ! I was a little apprehensive when I bought it but I will certainly be buying it again ! I agree with you with regard to the colour of foods but I can understand why some people would be put off without giving it a try - Wishing you a Great Monday - love and Peace from the Shire my friend :-)

Black Bean Spaghetti! Where do you find these exotic dishes - I must wander around with my eyes closed. And that Sauce sounds amazing. I have mentioned before I am a big fan of Aldi Pasta and Curry Sauces. And what does your good lady about this Hybrid form of Pasta? Would it be acceptable in Italy? Cheers Paul

Good Morning Paul, thank you for the comment - it is so easy to walk past items like these as they are always on the middle Aisles of Aldi next to the chainsaws and Val Doonican Cd's - She who must be obeyed has not tried it yet but approves of the stir through sauce and with her being Italian that is good recommendation for it as she is usually very critical about jarred sauces - I am sure the Italians would like this I know they have Spaghetti al nero di seppia which is Spaghetti with Squid Ink and it looks identical to the Black Been Spaghetti - Have a Great Monday my Friend :-)

Good Morning Siobhan, thank you for the comment - it is worth a go if you see it - it is very similar to pasta but instead of being made from Wheat it is 100% black Soya Bean - Wishing you a lovely Monday :-)

Well I'm thinking that would be a perfect bait for fishing the fish would love it and it could well become very popular with fishermen as it looks a bit like worms and a lot of fish do like to eat worms. It would go well mixed in with a packet of crickets which you can buy online ready for human consumption it's the sort of thing Papparoni would try he has tried crickets and other bugs on his channel before.

Good Morning MansfieldLad thank you for the comment - Perhaps it would be good for the fish and fishing community - I really enjoyed it - it was very similar to ordinary pasta but slightly different - Papparoni is a braver man than me i na lot of things he puts in his mouth - Bugs are not for me - even the smell of them turns my stomach ! have a great Monday :-)

Unfortunately Graham the jury is definitely out on this one for me, as Andrea has mentioned it's not the best on the eyes. As I have mentioned after traditional British Isles food Italian and Indian are my favourite foods. I remember going into an Italian restaurant in South Wales with my ex wife and she too loved Italian food but would not eat Lasagna Verdi as she said it looked mouldy but i love it as it's only dyed with spinach. But on the table next to ours a couple asked the waitress what this particular dish was and she replied it was pasta with squid 🐙 ink with a prawn based ragu sauce which they ordered. I the lasagna Verdi my ex wife had spaghetti bolognese, but our eyes were glued to the other couples dish it just looked like it had been boiled in coal dust water. With your wife being Italian she might know of this type of pasta, but I would definitely like to try the sauce 👍👍🍝🍝🐙👎👎

Good Morning Robert , thank you for the comment - The Black Bean Pasta was very nice to be honest and the colour didn't out me off it - my wife is Italian so I have had quite a few dishes from the region where the family come from in Monte Cassino - they have the Spaghetti on Sqiud Ink Spaghetti al nero di seppia I have never had it but it does look identical to the Black Bean pasta but of course will taste different - I do like Italian foods in general - I like Lasagne Verde - My wife did not try the Black Bean Spaghetti as she was out but she did give her seal of approval on the Stir through sauce which she is going to buy again today ! I am going to ask her if she will do a weeks worth of meals for me to review ! that would be interesting for me ! have a great Monday my Friend :-)
