Abbie, you did a great job of decluttering! I am 75 yrs old and a widow and have been decluttering my home due to downsizing. I have had years of things I thought I needed to keep but a light bulb went off in my head and said to get rid of it! I don’t have paper clutter anymore and clothes have gone from three closets to one closet. It takes time but it’s worth it. Good luck in the future!🥰👍💜
I should clarify- I do not let go of something when I am sure that I will need it later. The point I tried to make is that if I have had something laying around for years that I kept “just in case” and the reality is that I will not use it, I will let it go. In another video I’ve explained how the value of items will sometimes make it hard to let go of things, which is completely understandable. If something costed me $5, and I doubt I will ever need it again, I will let it go to be appreciated by someone else, instead of letting it collect dust in my home. Now if it had costed me $500, that would be a much different story.
I loved when you said "decluttering is a lifestyle" So very true. I was drowning in my clutter. Way too much for my home. I began removing 10 items completely from my home each and every day. I thought it would take a year. Here I am on year 8...YES, I SAID 8....The more I get rid of, the less I want. Things I could never part with 5-7-8 years ago, I find myself asking "Why do I still have this" Sentimental items? Well, my theory on that is this. If it is sentimental enough to keep, it better be used or displayed. If not, out it goes. I am currently working on storage. I have come to the conclusion that storage is just organized clutter. If I am keeping something, it must be USED. My attic/basement will only hold seasonal clothing and holiday decor. NOTHING WILL BE STORED. I am LOVING this journey
You motivate me every video! I feel overwhelmed when trying to figure out what to get rid of. Giving to shelters is a great idea, some people have little to nothing and they will definitely appreciate it and make them happy and hopeful. Decluttering sentimental things is really hard for me, I always feel bad. There are some things that are not negotiable, but where to start? Each time gets easier I guess. Thank you❤
Loved watching this video! Over the past 4 years I have gotten rid of over 300 boxes of stuff from my home and garage. How you might ask and is there anything left in my house? Well my family has lived in our very big house for over 20 years and we have also had multiple renters that from time-to-time would rent rooms from us. Once we had 4 renters each in separate rooms (we have 8 bedrooms). So some of the stuff was our stuff (our family's stuff) and some was random stuff left by renters (yes we asked them first before getting rid of anything). So it can be exhausting decluttering but so worth it. No one can do this kind of thing overnight. So great that you are doing this decluttering systematically. That's the only way to win at this game. I laughed a little at the pockets of stuff you have in your home that is sort-of theme based. We all have these hoards of things that show our true personalities. My weakness is books and I am still getting rid of a lot of books. This morning I picked up more books off of the floor where my baby kitties (ages 2 months and 3 months) decided to knock them off the bottom shelf of my bookcase. It occurred to me "Why don't you just remove all the books from the bottom shelves so that the kitties can play on the bottom shelves of your bookcases?" It might do this! Still thinking about it! Keep up the great work! Love your videos.
After watching your "fill a box" videos, I started leaving a box in two rooms. I keep putting things into them as I find things I don't want. I was surprised at how easy and quickly I filled them. Thank you!
I do this too, I get a couple boxes each week, usually from Aldi and make a goal to fill them up with donations before the next grocery trip. I have gotten lax, thanks for the motivation.
I enjoyed this video so much. I do the same, every box we get turns into the next donation box. I subscribe as soon as the video finished. Can’t wait to watch more. Hugs from Australia 🦘
Did you buy any of your donated items back on the trip to the 2nd hand store? I am amazed at how easy it seemed to be to fill the boxes!!! My brain just doesn't work that way
I can't get rid of my son's childhood toys that are in my attic (loft) he is 35 next month 🤔🙄😳😵😣😂 it kills me, he doesn't want any of it !! I told him I just can't do it !! He will have to take it and do what he wants with it.. 💐
Towels are needed at shelter both human and pet. But I use mine for car washing. Donate clothes at shelters or local hospitals for patients that had clothes cut off. Your sell them at consignment stores.
No, I am not throwing something out to buy it again when I need it later. I already have it, if I will use it, I keep it. Other than that great progress ❤
Thank you! ♥️ I should clarify- I don’t just throw out these items, and I do not let go of something when I am sure that I will need it later. Love this Abbie I'm doing the same it's therapeutic for me love it. And and ture at the same time. It's hard and fun and worth it end of the day. Love chanelle ❤
The point of this video is to show the transformation of my decluttering journey. There’s no way to go back in time and change your past purchases. All we can do is try to be better in the future. ♥️
I hope you will make another video like this with all of the clips!! Unless you ran out of clutter or you're waiting for baby to get new diaper boxes lol 🩵
@@chicpeachaf can't wait!! I have now watched all of your videos. This is like my 5th time watching this one 😂 I love seeing the items you are decluttering! It's so satisfying 🤩
When you made the comment about the dog bed, I thought to myself. I’m sure she washed it, but I bet she gets tons of negative comments about it. I knew you washed it without you having to tell me!
@@chicpeachaf I’m so sorry for your miscarriage, as someone who suffered several and only ended up with one son, I have been blessed with a wonderful stepson and so many nieces and nephews that we have formed a lasting lifelong bond with, and now their children are very special also. So just know that that can still be joy in your life. I am praying you two will be successful in having more children! God bless you!
I love decluttering too🥰 I donate all my old towels and bedsheets & blankets to animal shelters, they were super happy to get them and they told me they desperately needed them which made my ❤️ happy 😊
No, I think it‘s not ok, buying so much stuff. It causes environmental pollution, needs way too much water and other resources. You have a son, so please take care of his future and the future of this wonderful planet. Thank you so much 💚🌻
I don’t believe in buying unnecessary junk anymore, but I do believe in making sure that your environment is able to evolve with you and fits your needs, lifestyle, and personality. If your needs change or you are not happy in your environment, it’s OK to get what you need and what makes you feel happier. Decluttering helps you become more conscious with your spending and consumption. I believe there was a misunderstanding with what I meant in the particular video that you may be referencing.

I disagree buying too much is the problem. We need to stop buying .

The towels in this video were taken to a local animal shelter! The blankets were given to someone who shelters formerly abused dogs. ♥️
Wow! Good Job ! Sometimes it’s really hard, but the benefits? Oh My!
Yes!! But the end result is worth the journey! ♥️
