Great modpack. I'm following ChosenArchitect who has being playing this for a while now. Love to see what you are going to make of it direwolf. Love your series. You are really the king of mods buddy.
I'm sure the pack author would agree, feel free to add fast leaf decay. He's said he left it out because it causes lag on servers with tree farms. Since you're all by yourself, it shouldn't be an issue.
Triaxx2 personally, the pack lacks a lot of mods I usually play with regularly, such as applecore, sleeping bag, and mouse tweaks, so I add them anyways
not sure why everyone is making fun of slowpokes clay comment. hes not wrong. a lot of mod packs start out their early game recipes based on clay instead of gold or diamonds now like they used to. the first entry level blocks or machines to build like the immersive engineering coke oven require bricks or clay as the most complicated ingredient in the recipe. ive seen similar entries into other mods becoming more and more common. i remember when a whole lot of mods started out with finding gold or diamonds for their first basic items or recipes. now many of them just require finding clay to get started.
I've been looking for a good play through of this pack and I think you'll be right for it Dire. I think it would be really cool/different for you to build a base that is entirely or mostly in a mountain or underground, just an idea. I also liked how you pushed through the early game vanilla stuff that we all have seen before rather quickly. Also picked up on the fact you were using crits on those sheep, nice vanillaing
23:10 - After all these years, Dire learns a vanilla mechanic! The Mining Age is basically a cheaty free eternal day age for solar (and bees!!!)... (don't think mobs spawn, except for slimes). In other packs, I changed the age to be always night. Gonna download this pack and build my base in the mining age.
i'm super excited to see the calculation mod! i've played with it in 1.7.10 and it is really cool it brings you new tools and machines and a new crafting mechanics... i really believe you'll end up carrying your calculator with you for the entire series
Awesome! I've been interested in playing this pack for a long time, but haven't found the time for it. Glad I get to experience it this way. Age of Engineering looks like a real mature pack w/o the usual cheap gimmicks.
I'm really glad that you're making these videos. I personally don't have a good computer or laptop to play minecraft. Thank you, and keep up with your commentary play through!
my guess is that he had to read it in the other dimension in order to work. Maybe it would give info about the dimension you're currently in or the ones you've already visited. But I could be completely wrong about that. Maybe somebody who actually played the pack can fill us in?
Yay for new series! Loved your infinity evolved skyblock, hope to enjoy watching your playthrough this challenging modpack. But multiplayer one could be better imo.
One observation about leaf decay: ExtraUtils sickles are a thing, in this pack, and they are awesome. (Also... when the time comes for making your lavawood, hoppers and redstone clocks are your friends. Pouring out 56 blocks by hand is not recommended to any but the most patient.)
One thing about using tinker tools, is if the swappable parts, and XP are around, they can make for very good tools, but basically, only if the XP system is there. but considering the clay bucket is there, I think so. this looks like a fun pack.
Dire, I hope you enjoy this pack as much as I did. Good luck, and don't stress too much about Tech Reborn, the 1.10.2 version is all kinds of messed up.
I wanna see you push your boundaries a little dire, you should do a floating island build, you can use that slime island as a starting point and build yourself some other islands from there. It's a really rewarding project IMO and with the excetpion of modpack changes your playthroughs have gotten pretty self similar over the years.
for anyone that's wondering, sticks are actually worse to burn, compared to planks. with two planks, you can make four sticks, which can smelt two items. however, with two planks, you can smelt three items.
Looks like an interesting pack. The other UA-camrs I'm following didn't go through. One stopped at the nuclear age because there were issues with chunk loading and too many processes to wait on. Another one just restarted from scratch in the middle of his series, switching to a boring two-player series where he was just talking to his friend. I'm looking forward to see how that series will go. I know Direwolf20 for making interesting contents and going through the packs he chooses up to completion or completely dead end.
This is so cool, hard, but nicely done for a modpack with recipe changes. Tiering things with be interesting. Yay Calculator, neotech, so many other mods I have played that need to be better known. So happy that they are I the pack.
Seems good so far, and something I thought I'd mention is that you can probably smelt ores and charcoal in any machine type furnace, which is why the recipe is still there in JEI.
Usually I just enjoy watching..... but this pack is actually the first that I want to play along with you dire...... as for the mining multi tool.... yes.... just a crafting component
I interpreted AoE at first as Area of Effect. Never heard of Age of Empire, but I assume it's popular based on these comments. Dire is so excited in the beggining of this video, and I think that's nice.
You are going to love this pack, been streaming it and I have to say that get ready for a long series, one hint I can give you is canola oil from Actually Additions works for IC2 semi-fluid generators, very handy early game
It's going good, loving this pack you built, sitting at Age 9 right now, the only hold up has been scheduling things with R_3_K to stream, hopefully there will be another stream today
I always kind of avoided tech mods when I played modded minecraft, but this looks really fleshed out! Gonna give it a try! Edit: "Terry Crews" is a really good seed, as of the latest version when I made this comment.
been waiting for this for a while, I'm still stuck on the replicator part in age 7 so this will be interesting to see how he suffers like everyone else when playing the pack.
dire talks about how he likes / is reminded of infinity evolved. ten seconds later: "i assume the bucket recipe isn't something *stupid*.....nope!" LOL
So correctly me I'm wrong, but this is basically Infinity Evolved Skyblock, but without the added bullshit from sifting a billion of stone, and absurdly hard recipes? I'm in
Btw dire, i know this is an old video but I'm not sure if you aware, but planks are the best to burn. You have to use 2 planks to make four sticks, so thats 600 burn time (two planks) being made into 400 burn time (4 sticks)
Looks like "dark oak" and "acacia" logs are the only ones that furnace. Possibly those two woods are the only ones not caught in the initial pass of testing to force charcoal to only be from the coke oven?
So when dire mentioned that he should be able to make a bed unless the recipe was something ridiculous it made me really want to have a modpack based entirely around making a bed and just have the bed recipe as something entirely insane and ridiculous that requires tons of infrastructure and resources to make
Yo Dire. In the Calculator Mod the Lighting rod generator is really good. Also using that mod you can get literally unlimited food and HP. Its an awesome mod.
Dire, Dark oak and acacia can be turned into charcoal using a furnace, as well as most modded woods. However, You have Oakwood, Which can be turned into charcoal using the coke oven, and that's the same with birch, So, in a nutshell, Modded woods, and Dark Oak as well as acacia wood, Can be turned into Charcoal Via A Furnace. Oak and Birch are transformed into Charcoal using the coke oven, so you can't use the furnace sadly. Also, 1 log (1.5 blocks) = 4 planks (6 blocks) = 8 sticks (4 blocks) or 6 slabs (4.5 blocks and 1 plank (1 block so 6 blocks total) So planks are best for smelting operations divided by 1.5 so 3 operations = 2 blocks ect., while sticks are more precise at the cost of amounts. Also, Living in the mining age isn't a bad idea. Hope this helps, Regards, R.Cook
Could be interesting and fits your channel well, I just worry about it dragging on due to the crafting times and number of crafting steps it appears mid-late tier stuff will take
dire you know you can just hold shift and your left mouse button to put stuff into a chest. you dont have to click every item, just hold and drag your mouse over the items.
DW: have you considered recording in (at least) 1080p these days? Screens have been getting better over the years. Perhaps when you get to the Technologic Age ;) Also, AOE looks cool. I'm excited for this series.
There's no point. He's using the vanilla textures. If he uploads in 1080p there will be no difference, and if anything, will just take longer for him to render videos.
Country Vamp at least 60 fps would be nice. And that's not necessarily true anyways, I've played Minecraft on my buddy's 4k monitor, there's a significant difference. everything is.. crisper.
looks cool. ive always felt that minecraft was lacking in the way of tiered progression and this mod pack adds a lot of that, im installing it myself now to see if it works
I really don't know the pack or the mod with that mining dimension, but I would guess that you have to look in the book while being in the mining dimension (or other dimensions) in order to get information about those. At least it would be worth to try it out.
15:55 there are just some QOL mods that all packs should have in them and if the maker didn't put them in, their wrong, fast Leaf decay and flat bedrock fall into this, no one wants to stand about waiting a minute or two for leafs to fall and who wants bumpy bedrock.
i think this should be a great series. allowing forr good exploration of the mods and some form of ddirection in the mod. would be good if some questing was added. like the older kingdoms mod for example.. but great none the less
Hope you enjoy this pack as much as I am!
How does this comment have no replies
yeah m8
22:00 Oh, Direwolf, you forgot you need _two_ planks to make four sticks, so you get two sticks per plank, so you get 200 fuel for 300 fuel.
Great modpack. I'm following ChosenArchitect who has being playing this for a while now. Love to see what you are going to make of it direwolf. Love your series. You are really the king of mods buddy.
Watching you work through such a complex progression should be quite fun, I'm really glad you're doing this series.
ThunderBlastvideo I don't know about Sleeping bags, but the others, i can totally agree with.
Hard to believe this was 5 years ago. Im playing this pack right now again, so much fun.
Gotta admit, I love that your videos aren't overly edited.
not sure why everyone is making fun of slowpokes clay comment. hes not wrong. a lot of mod packs start out their early game recipes based on clay instead of gold or diamonds now like they used to. the first entry level blocks or machines to build like the immersive engineering coke oven require bricks or clay as the most complicated ingredient in the recipe. ive seen similar entries into other mods becoming more and more common. i remember when a whole lot of mods started out with finding gold or diamonds for their first basic items or recipes. now many of them just require finding clay to get started.
Stone7C1 like tinkers
That is a lovely surprise, I just started this pack myself and watching you playing it just doubles the fun!
I've been looking for a good play through of this pack and I think you'll be right for it Dire. 23:10 - After all these years, Dire learns a vanilla mechanic!

Gonna download this pack and build my base in the mining age.
2 wood plank = 4 stick
2 wood plank = 600 burn time
4 stick - 400 burn time
you welcome :D
2 planks = 3 items (1:1.5)
4 sticks = 2 items (1:0.5)
yes, but 1 wood plank cooks 1,5 items, and stick cooks 0,5 items, so it's easier to manage with sticks
VidZarg But still it's as cheap with planks even when cooking one item at a time
it's not UUmas, you need 2 sticks for a single item which costs 1 plank. So it's the same if you smelt single items.
Here I am just planning how many things to smelt by the burn rate instead of making things less efficient.
i'm super excited to see the calculation mod! i've played with it in 1.7.10 and it is really cool it brings you new tools and machines and a new crafting mechanics... i really believe you'll end up carrying your calculator with you for the entire series

I love the idea of you doing this pack, I have recently been into factory kinds of mod packs. you will have lots of fun with this pack.
As i first saw the titles i first thought at Age of Empires
Glad I wasn't the only one, lol
rawrReap ^^
i thought Area of Effect..
@tehLPKids, I thought it was Area of Effect at first too, but then I realized that doesn't make sense, so I then read the rest of the title.
Yeahy thats also a possibility
This modpack seems perfect for you Dire, this should be a interesting series!
that mining dimension guide book lol
Choo Ting Feng I wonder if it would have worked if he threw it in or took it in the portal?
my guess is that he had to read it in the other dimension in order to work. Maybe it would give info about the dimension you're currently in or the ones you've already visited. But I could be completely wrong about that. Maybe somebody who actually played the pack can fill us in?
Dire I felt more involved in this than you're single player series I'm excited!
Yay for new series! Loved your infinity evolved skyblock, hope to enjoy watching your playthrough this challenging modpack. But multiplayer one could be better imo.
One observation about leaf decay: ExtraUtils sickles are a thing, in this pack, and they are awesome.

honestly, i'm amaized that you still play this game and that you aren't bored of it, considering that you've been playing it for about 5 or 6 years
Dire, I hope you enjoy this pack as much as I did. Good luck, and don't stress too much about Tech Reborn, the 1.10.2 version is all kinds of messed up.
Whew ! 105 EPs ! ~52 hours of pure content. Thats... Exciting !
Thanks Dire! This is one of my favorite packs on Curse. There's a great guide book, and everything works very well.
"There is no magic in this modpack only tech"
Spots a floating island in the sky right after.
Nice.
Tinkers’ Construct isn’t a magic mod.
Invasion: gets no rice through the whole pack
AoE: gets rice in first episode
I like the pack a lot! I'd love to see how this plays out. Please keep it up!
I wanna see you push your boundaries a little dire, you should do a floating island build, you can use that slime island as a starting point and build yourself some other islands from there. It's a really rewarding project IMO and with the excetpion of modpack changes your playthroughs have gotten pretty self similar over the years.
Seems like a cool modpack. I've always enjoyed the tech mods more than others. I think I will really dig this series.
i really like this. its interesting to see you do a modpack with a tighter controlled advancement.
havnet played minecraft in years now, but still love watching ur videos dire keep up the good work!
for anyone that's wondering, sticks are actually worse to burn, compared to planks. with two planks, you can make four sticks, which can smelt two items. however, with two planks, you can smelt three items.
don't stop. I wanna see you do this series and struggle with the tiers. I wanna see how you manage it and all the cools things you do
Looks like an interesting pack. The other UA-camrs I'm following didn't go through. One stopped at the nuclear age because there were issues with chunk loading and too many processes to wait on. "Do I have what it takes, probably" Spoken like a true Minecraft pro!!
Definitely excited to see more of this pack. Keep up the entertaining content Dire
Oh wow! I'm in love with the idea of this pack, can't wait to download it and test it out myself.
This is so cool, hard, but nicely done for a modpack with recipe changes. Tiering things with be interesting. Yay Calculator, neotech, so many other mods I have played that need to be better known. So happy that they are I the pack.
Dire is gonna love going through the ore quinupling process
I saw "engineering" in a direwolf20 and I instantly liked it
Looks really good hope you get all the way through the series
Seems good so far, and something I thought I'd mention is that you can probably smelt ores and charcoal in any machine type furnace, which is why the recipe is still there in JEI.
Ha! I just started playing with this pack two days ago. Looking forward to seeing how you tackle it.
Dire's luck: Breaks one grass, gets one seed
Usually I just enjoy watching..... but this pack is actually the first that I want to play along with you dire...... as for the mining multi tool.... yes.... just a crafting component
Excited. Reminds me of your earlier series. Feels fresh and fun
I interpreted AoE at first as Area of Effect. Never heard of Age of Empire, but I assume it's popular based on these comments.
Dire is so excited in the beggining of this video, and I think that's nice.
haha age of empires was one of the biggest RTS games back in the day! was amazing :)
this modpack looks really cool while watching the video im installing it
draco the-dragon noice
same here though I wish it had magic mods mixed in too
zeebo30 am I the only one who finds it sad this is the first time fire is using the mining dimension
where do i dload it?
Twitch launcher
You are going to love this pack, been streaming it and I have to say that get ready for a long series, one hint I can give you is canola oil from Actually Additions works for IC2 semi-fluid generators, very handy early game
Hi elder sign, how is progress? Couldn't watch you in a while
It's going good, loving this pack you built, sitting at Age 9 right now, the only hold up has been scheduling things with R_3_K to stream, hopefully there will be another stream today
Kept waiting for the "And this is Pahimar" moment but oh well this does look interesting. lol
I think that series will be loads of fun. Start with a tools made out of a blend of Lead and Iron.
Love the new series. Please don't rage quit like everyone else!
Looks like a great pack. Please continue with the series!
i like to come back to the first episode when dire finishes the series, whos with me?
Wow, its super nice, both of my best minecraft youtubers are recording same pack. Almost in same time. I like it
I always kind of avoided tech mods when I played modded minecraft, but this looks really fleshed out! Gonna give it a try!
Edit: "Terry Crews" is a really good seed, as of the latest version when I made this comment.
Like it, sounds like it going to be a great series Direwolf20.
been waiting for this for a while, I'm still stuck on the replicator part in age 7 so this will be interesting to see how he suffers like everyone else when playing the pack.

YES!! I've wanted him to play this for SO long!!
Loving this series so far
Looking forward to this series, this kind of pack is my favorite.
Now Dire will definitely explore the Advanced Rocketry mod and do cool stuff in space! This pack will modify the recipes though. #gamersinspace
This mod pack really defines early game
I forgot how much i loved your voice Dire :3
Looking forward to the rest of the series, looks good.
I love his LPs and simplistic titles
please keep playing this. love the progression of the pack
Looks like it will be a fun series to watch.
That wooden pickaxe and shovel crafting was so pro
Yo Dire. In the Calculator Mod the Lighting rod generator is really good. Also using that mod you can get literally unlimited food and HP. Its an awesome mod.
So excited, for a new let's play!
Also with a new pack
dire is playing mekanism. yey
Can't wait to see if he goes full Mekanism on ore processing..
Y2KNW It will be a long time before he gets to that point lol
Islarf Regrowth series with Soaryn. LOOK IT UP!
I also think you forgot that Tree breeding needs Bee breeding. There will be many jump cuts in this series.
Moar. I love it dude. Keep up the good stuff
Definitely enjoying this one, Dire! Keep it up! XD
-Hey! That Macerator isn't working
-IC2
*ba dum tss*

Jack Smith didn't he at some point upload 60fps videos ?
Le Monk I thought so too, but I'm not entirely sure. I watch a few other Minecraft letsplayers who do so I might be mixing them up.
I am really looking forward to this series!!!

i think this should be a great series. allowing forr good exploration of the mods and some form of ddirection in the mod. would be good if some questing was added. like the older kingdoms mod for example.. but great none the less
I like the progression part of this pack. much like in project ozone 2 how you need every mod to get further
Seems like a fun pack. Lookin' forward to future episodes!
Can't wait to see more of this LP
please keep this single player if possible, I like how you engage us that way commentary wise
