Just wanted to say thank you for posting this here! I'm new to PS and this tutorial has been one of the better ones I have found. I really like how you go through it step-by-step and not rushed. This helps me learn better and not be so confused or have to stop the video and go back and forth. And I also appreciate you not telling people to do this or that without showing it on the tutorial. Very clear and easy to follow! I like how you talk it through while showing, often zooming in so it's easier to see exactly what you're doing. This makes it exceptionally easy to follow on a step-by-step basis. Thank you!!
I came here looking for a treasure map how to and I left a better man. I've been using Photoshop (self-taught) since high school and this video taught me so many small things I never figured out on my own. Thank you, this rocks

I know at 04:33 - You say to "experiment..." This only a tiny little bit of variation in your process though. If one follows your tutorial exactly- they'll end up with a really great looking treasure map- but, I really think that lessons/tutorials where you allow/force someone to really play and experiment with something is such a more usefull and valuable way to learn. This said- the couple of other videos of yours I saw that made me subscribe were really great! Thanks!!
This was awesome! Thanks so much for making it. The only thing I did differently was that I am terrible with the brush tool so I just added a drop shadow to the map to make it a little cleaner.
Another great video Marty. I would never challenge or question your methods but I am curious as to why you chose using a brush for the map shadow vs Layer Style and Drop Shadow?

The template downloads fine on my end. I updated the link to the treasure map drawing. If you're still unable to download them, try a different Browser.

Below the title of the video, click "Show More" and scroll down. Click the PSD template and open it. There are 3 layers in the template. The second layer in the Layers panel is the parchment paper.
Hey! I've got a problem here. I already used this tutorial for my own map and it worked perfectly. Now that I'm doing it again the clouds render give me a really strange result. The clouds are made with verticals ans horizontals lines and it does'nt look good at all! Help me please!

Your Video is Awesome But I can not Find the Parchment Paper the only one I get is the would with the Shadow of a Palm tree

bswade007...the Layer style Drop Shadow is too mechanical-looking on sand.
cloud color determine by the 2 deafult color?

It may be a problem with your computer; not Photoshop. If it worked for you once, it should work again. Restart your computer and try again.

noobpunisher...I've done numerous tutorials showing how to make logos. Go to my Channel and in the Search Channel field, type in, "logo".
