Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad Opening Weekend 2024

Summer has returned, so it's time to catch us a little steam! On the Sunday morning of Memorial Weekend, we took an early morning cruise to Chama, New Mexico to immerse ourselves in the sweet, steam-filled universe that is the Cumbres and Toltec. Watch here as we witness the timeless scenes of morning preparation in the Chama yard. Some locomotives are shuffled around as K-36 Number 488 is prepared to take train Number 216-The daily Eastbound run to Antonito. At 10AM sharp, we leave town to witness the 488 in a classic assault over Cumbres Pass.
