Thank you for sharing this. Being from and growing up in Arlington Six Flags was huge in my life. Everything about it was magical. So many great memories.
1:48-2:10 those plants swaying in time to the mariachis.... did Six Flags a few times in the '60s, then a lot in the 70s.... thanks for reminding me of some of my favorite youthful memories.
I remember going up the big orange tower in about '68. There was a LOT of empty field/farmland all around the whole place. It really was out in the middle of nowhere.
So neat to see the lagoon without the Judge Roy Scream on the other side. And the view from the top of The Oil Derrick and it doesn't have the chain link protective fencing.
Enjoyed Six Flags many times during the 1970s and 1980s. The first time was with a church group and they had the Kroft Music Theater an animatronic statue of Will Rodgers with his face projected onto it, Skull Island where Roar Rapids would later be and the first time I got on the Oil Derrick slide I slide off so I learned to slow down before the end. Many back many times and when I went to work for Tandy Corp., they had a Tandy day. Didn't know they had dolphins.
im of the newer generation im 18 now and i used to work at six flags over texas and this was definitely a trip to see all the stuff thats still there or used to be there
Thanks for the video. It all but proves that the roller coaster, in the footage, is no way the Monster Mouse at Forest Park. It's a wild mouse, and not even the same color as the Monster Mouse was. I do not believe they sold it to Forest Park.
That is what was rumored to be true for a long time. Unless they did sell it to Forest Park and then they added some additional track, I don't believe it's the same coaster now. Problem is after a long time searching, I can only find one photo of the Monster Mouse and no video at to really prove either way. I'd give anything for some moving pictures of Monster Mouse.
Actual color video of The Sidewynder (mouse coaster)! @@davidcarper5411 I can find no real evidence the Forest Park Monster Mouse was the one from SFOT. The Monster Mouse was much larger than Sidewynder/LaCuCuRacha in OT. I'm still looking but haven't found anything yet. I hope it is because I told a lot of people the same thing.
I was there in 64 , great fun . thanks
Back when the log ride water was still blue… how refreshing

Wow, this stuff is gold. Thanks for sharing. From a time before I was even born. This is the closest thing to a time machine.

The late 60’s & 70’s were such a great, careful time in America. This was my home park in the late 70’s & 80’s…. Good times…
1974 ....1st coaster ride age 6. Texas mine trains I think .. there was 2 of them 👍
This was really great footage! It's so cool to see how it looked back then.
That really brought back a lot of memories, thank you for sharing this.
Thank you so much for this video and pics...I miss those good old days..
I remember cows and trees , between Dallas and Ft . Worth ? !
That was great! Grew up in Arlington. Favorite memories? The dolphins were timeless
Music is not so great, but eliving the good old dyas of the park is awesome!
It really was a park back then, before all the tech
This is totally killer!!! This is great!!! They had twin log rides!!!
Back when they had a true “theme”. The park and rides used to be well maintained, the food was good and wholesome and the restrooms were clean.
Current ride op here it is do to polices out of our control and they can not maintain judge do to it not being 6flags land just operating it

You may be right, but color isn't good evidence. Rides get repainted often.

Mouse coaster went to forest park in ftw, then onto frontier city in okc, where it's still in operation

Oh my, all those women’s hairdo’s… 🤣 Lot’s of big hair and up do’s… 😂
I hope that the women's hair styles of the 60's never come back.
They transformed into today's eye paddles with makeup applied via masonry trowel
Everything comes back around!
The first time I went to Six Flags was the summer of 1972.
