Alright you did my boy justice. Great episode, thanks for doing it. It is strange how he suddenly vanished. I think I read the Matt Frewer just got tired of playing him because of the makeup. He’d be able to come back now full CGI with Matt doing the voice.
This was great - I remember seeing some of one of the shows as a kid. It was super intriguing, though I don't remember a ton about it. I would love to watch it again.
You guys did your homework on this one...Loved it! Love Max, always and forever, truly an 80s pop icon. Keep on Retroing you two. T-t-t-t-wo T-t-t-t-umbs wayyyyy U-u-u-P!
Ideas: popular fads of old...clacker balls, sting ray bikes, building plastic models, wide ties, striped pants etc. Dance shows, real Don Steele, etc. Cool things that would be not cool now? Hairstyles? Weird stuff our parents liked. New inventions that spelled doom to an age of...?
The ATTIC DWELLERS Also, a good question is: what was the first car you ever made out in? Too long ago for me to remember but it might have been a camper
What was the first record that you played where your parents finally freaked on and said “what the hell are you listening too”! Mine was Alice Cooper Billion Dollar Babies “I love the Dead”, lol. My dad couldnt take it anymore hehehe
I watched the movie Watchmen recently, and i remember thinking that the dude who played Moloch looked alot like an older Max Headroom. Turns out i was right!
Not gonna lie, to this day seeing his face reminds me of the Max Headroom incident and I get nervous. It was just a weird tv interruption and yet so unnerving.
I wasn’t mesmerized because I grew up on Vancouver Island in Canada, so most of this Max Headroom stuff just didn’t reach me. I remember the movie and Coke commercials, that’s about it. Do Americans ever sit back and think about just HOW MUCH advertising they are assaulted with everyday?
The super mario brothers movie is what happens when you let the directors of a lot of the max headroom projects direct the movie and give them free reign to develop their vision
That Max Headroom Christmas Special is on UA-cam. I skipped through it a bit... it looks AWFUL! It might be in the same league as the Star Wars Holiday Special. ...I think I'm going to have to watch the whole thing. ;)
Thanks For BACKPEDALING With Me! (Comments & Likes Always Appreciated)
Max was a legit 80s icon. He should be remembered now more than ever.
Great episode. Loving these. Keep em coming. Max Headroom was a mockery of all that was the 80s, that's why I loved him.
Thank you
Another great 1!!
Thanks buddy
It's hard to believe even after the one million iterations of Max Headroom in shows/products, that Matt Frewer didn't become more of a household name.
You're right. He's a good actor. Feel like Jim Carrey had something to do with it.
We are All Max now.
It's true

Thanks Damian. And that would be awesome. I'd watch it.

Thanks Nate! Yeah, they make it all super hard to find for some reason. Some of it floats around on UA-cam from time to time.

Dance Shows sounds like something that would be fun to do! So many memories.
The ATTIC DWELLERS Also, a good question is: what was the first car you ever made out in? Too long ago for me to remember but it might have been a camper
Or a van

Max should be a meme
Agreed!
Agree!
I was born in late 81, but somehow I never really experienced Max Headroom as a kid.
It's weird because it seems like people either barely remember him or absolutely remember him. I guess because it was like a 3 year flash of insanity.
I watched the movie Watchmen recently, and i remember thinking that the dude who played Moloch looked alot like an older Max Headroom. Turns out i was right!
Ha! I forgot he was in it.
Not gonna lie, to this day seeing his face reminds me of the Max Headroom incident and I get nervous. It was just a weird tv interruption and yet so unnerving.
It still gives me the creeps!

No, because we grew up with it all. We just tune it all out.

Truth

I just watched it a week ago. totally worth the cringe
Let me know how it goes. Lol
