PERFECT AZUMARILL! Best Tera Raid Build Guide (Bellydrum, Huge Power, EV & IV Trained, Adamant)
Вставка
- Опубліковано 10 гру 2022
- In today's episode we will make a perfect Azumarill build complete with Bellydrum moveset, Huge Power ability, EV and IV training in HP and Attack, and the Ability Shield held item. This process should take about 45 minutes to complete overall.
I will show you how to do each one of these steps. Some involve going to a specific location or buying items from a specific store. The video is a bit long because I included the information and video of doing each step. Hopefully you have everything you need here to build your own perfect Azumarill.
There are many ways to do this process however I used the fastest way that costs the most money. I recommend this because it will be faster. If you want to manually EV train your Pokemon that will be very time consuming but it can be done if you look up an EV guide to find out which Pokemon you need to battle to get the right EVs in HP and Attack.

I switched over to the Shell Bell held item at the advice of my live stream moderator team. Shell Bell restoring health has made a huge improvement to this build! I highly recommend the Shell Bell now, it's way more useful than the Ability Shield I was using before.
I use wide lens because i dont want play rough to miss also azumarill is my favorite pokemon it always was
Just a little tip, the belly drum you transfer with the mirror herb is considered a "temporary egg move" so if you ever forget it by mistake you'll need to copy it back over again, if you want to be able to remember it use the Azumarill you taught it to and a ditto to breed an azurill and it will hatch with belly drum learned and it can be relearned.
good to know thanks!
The reason the mints won't change their nature in the description is because even tho it changed your pokemons nature, when you breed it, it will pass down the original nature and not the one you got from the mint
That makes sense. Thanks for sharing! 👌 💯
When you breed the nature is random
@@PokiDave not if it’s holding an everstone
@@cybersoul2809 isn’t that for IVS, not nature?
thanks for sharing! I noticed that description shows the nature caught but on the stats info it shows the nature changed from using one of those mints.
This is the most thorough video that explains the entire process. Thank you so much!
I'm glad it helped you! Thanks for the comment
The best video for this build I have seen. Nice work!
Oh wow thank you. I honestly thought I did a bad job lol. I suggest using a Sitrus Berry for the held item. I switched to that and it helps a lot with Charizard.
Great informative step by step video without information overload :)
I'm so glad to hear that! I was really trying to accomplish that goal specifically. it's really hard to even talk about EVs without giving information overload for sure.
I have always loved azumarill in general and we have a great bond in my current game. I wanted information on how to make her stronger and this it 💯 awesome advice. Thank you!
so glad :)
This just earned you a new subscriber. Literally perfect video no time wasted thanks man
Thanks for the feedback! 👌 💯 I try to make helpful content. Also use the shell bell on this build it works amazingly well. Only mistake I think I made on the video
Brilliant man, I caught my shiny marill and it had adamant already and also had a shiny Hariyama with belly drum 👌 I took a screenshot of the 3 of us having a picnic for ya
incredible! thanks for sharing!
Did it had huge power as the ability because mine is a shiny and doesn’t have that ability 😣
Such an Amazing Video this Deserves more love!
OMG you're too kind! I really appreciate the comment.
Incredible video! Made it so simple, thank you!
i'm really glad it was helpful to you! thanks for commenting!
No wonder Azumarill is considered a Tera Raid Master! I took down a Six Star Tera Raid against a Dragon Tera Type Salamence! This video DEFINITELY helped me out! Thanks a million! 😄👍
I'm so glad to hear that! Yes Azumarill is one of the best raid pokemon I use it for all kinds of stuff. Just avoid grass and electric types!
@@JonnoPlays Duely noted! 👌
Hey man. Casual player trying to dabble in peak pokemon play here. The belly drum trick was perfect. Thanks for the info
I'm glad you liked it! Thanks for commenting
Thank you very much! This has really helped me, now I got a second good Tera Raid Pokemon after Iron Hands! ='D
Yes! I'm glad to hear that 🙏
This video was so helpful! Thank you Jonno!! ❤
I'm so glad! I was worried it might be hard to follow for some.
It has been the best guide for me to get my competitive team. Thank You
i'm so glad it helped!
You did awesome with this video thank you
Glad you liked it!
This video is very informative! My shiny Azumaril thanks you as do I!
thanks for the comment!
Thank you so much! It helped
I'm so glad to hear that! 👌 💯
Thankyou this video had been very helpful
I'm glad to hear that. Thanks for the comment
8:50 you have to go to your boxes and use the "Judge" function to see the state of your stats, where if they are maxed out they will say "Hyper trained!". You need to beat the game and talk to a Nurse Joy to unlock the function though
yeah apparently you can do it from certain screens but not others. so weird.
They will only say ”hyper trained!” If they are maxed from hyper training, normally it says ”best” I believe
@relavender That’s what I said.
Yeah you did a great job. This is the best video I’ve seen so far. One thing I thought you could explain better, when you hyper trained everything except for a special attack. Is that because it is completely useless to do so or because you can’t max them all out or were you just doing that to save a bottle cap? I don’t mind paying an extra bottle cap if it helps but I don’t want to throw one away if it doesn’t help. That’s a small thing that would’ve helped to know. But really great video thanks for posting it
It's completely useless for this build. All your attacks will be physical attacks. If you want to do it just to max everything you can but it serves no purpose except to make you feel good.
Also thanks for the nice comment ☺ 👌 💯
I just aced my first (and solo) 5 star raid with my level 100 fully trained azumarill 😁 caught a milotic! I'm so hyped! 🥳
congrats!
I wish I could give you a million likes on this video, because this advice saved me a lot of headaches.
thanks! use the shell bell instead of the item i said here. it's way better
Thanks for making my shiny azu even more special 🥰 caught them in swsh as my first random encounter in that playthrough and now they are coming along with me forever especially now that it is a BEAST 💕
it's such a beast in this game. really enjoying this build with shell bell
Thanks this worked well
Happy to help
Great job now I feel like I got a good raid pokemon
Yeah I use it for so many raids! Just remember it's weak to electric and grass and poison!
And belly drum or egg moves are taught by have them topped u attack menu or be only move they can learn
thanks for sharing! very helpful
Also if you do not want to spend money to raise evs you can just beat pokemon for specific evs (e.g. chansey gives HP evs). And also some held items raise evs at a faster rate while battling (e.g. power lens, power weight) It takes around 30 pokemons to max out a specific stat while holding its respective held item so its not that time consuming.
Yeah that's true but I find that method way too confusing and time consuming. Explaining that would have made this video unbearable
Thanks man
happy to help!
My shiny Azu just went from 0 to 100 real quick! Thanks so much
Drake references make me happy lol 😊
thinking of spreading defensive EVs to azu since attack will be maxed out with belly drum anyways, let me know what you think!
Interesting theory. Let us know how it works out!
Thank you 🙏🏽
Happy to help thanks for the comment
If a rad party of 4 Azu using mud slap at the same time could lower the accuracy of the boss enough, could everyone avoid all attacks and if they were ground terra azumarrils and testeralized would there be a bonus to using a move that does less than 50 damage output in play that would beat a gredinja?
It takes forever to terestralized though. But maybe that could work.
My issue is I can’t change my ability to Huge Power as my ability capsules don’t affect my Azumarill. And my ability patch changes it to something that’s not huge power.(I figured it out I used ability patch and used a ability changer 😅 and played it safe by using save feature before using since they are expensive items)
OK sounds good I'm glad you got it figured out
Thanks I have a shiny azumarill and a shiny hariyama
No aqua tail on azu? And why change tera type from fairy thats the perfect type for azu. Also need to run shell bell or leftovers as item with belly drum build if you gonna stay alive.
Great tip! I'm noticing that as well. Taking away half health during 5 star and up battles is risky. Need a friend who can cheer for health immediately otherwise I may have to go leftovers like you said.
cool Jonno
thank you
For the forth move you could use aqua ring
Thank you
Happy to help
Great video and do you think a shell bell is a good item to hold to help gain your health back in a Tera raid?
yeah that's all I actually use with this build. it's very handy because it brings your health right back up usually. drain punch with belly drum on other pokemon works great too.
Mirror herb transfers moves available on the mons egg move list. Thats how it knows which one.
Does it really need speed for terra raid battles? wouldn't it's evs be better used on defense instead since speed is already broken af in terra raids?
Don't do speed. I don't remember saying that but maybe I did.
Thanks a lot for your video. I have a question about rare candy, which I couldn't find an answer to. I read that by using rare candy my Pokemon won't get any EVs. But if I assigned all free EVs by medicine, are there any other drawback? Because my Azumarill was Level 22 and after I maximized the stats you showed, I used XP Candy to get it over LV. 50 for the IV-training and now I'm planing on using rare candy to get it as close to LV. 100 as possible.
Your comment is all over the place. You're talking about EV training then IV training. Remember they are different. EVs are gained by battling certain pokemon. A brand new pokemon you just caught will have no EVs. Those are ideal for a new build because you don't need to remove the EVs. Leveling up and using rare candy and XP candy has nothing to do with EVs or IVs so don't worry about that. Use vitamins to raise your EVs to max and if they're already messed up from using the Pokémon then you'll need to remove all the EVs that are wrong by using specific berries. IV training happens by using bottle caps. There's no other way to change your IVs other than hyper training.
@@JonnoPlays Thanks a lot for the explanation. :)
Can you do one of these on goldengo and iron hands I enjoyed your process!
I did iron hands on my live stream the other night. I'll try to make a video about it too. That's a great idea. If you find the art where I did it on live it's there now though.
Nice vid
Between ability capsule, mint, and bottle caps, you're still already looking at a 200,000 poke-bucks investment to turn a meh Azumarill into a beast. Adding even more to that with vitamins for EV training is too much, especially when the power bracer and encounter sandwiches make the process so easy. For strength EV training, go to the watchtower south of Lavincia, make a fighting encounter lvl 1 sandwhich, then battle only the Tauros that spawn. It will take about 10 minutes to battle 26 of them and max out your strength EV from zero.
It's a good tip. Getting rich in this game is easy so I never do things that way, but it's a great tip for the early game.
When I try to change the ability of Azumarill, it says that it won't have any effect, and it doesn't have huge power yet. What is happening??
That's weird. I don't think huge power is a hidden ability that requires an ability patch item. But that's what it sounds like based on what you're saying. I don't recall off the top of my head sorry 🙏
I tried using ability patch but it keeps switching back to fat thick or sap sipper and it’s a shiny 😣
nice tutorial
Well thanks ☺ 👌
Is anyone running aqua ring for their 4th move with item Big root…. Or does shell bell work better?
To me shell bell is the way. I'm able to recover full health after belly drum and an attack. Once I switched to shell bell I realized how powerful it is.
I was thinking... if you want a tera type that could coinsidentially be super effective to both steel and poison type tera raids, why not get the ground tera type?
Good point. Useful for pvp not so much Tera raids.
unrelated comment but ive been trying to find the black jacket hes wearing in the video so if anyone knows where to buy it that will be greatly appreciated.
There's only 4 outfits in the entire game. This is the winter outfit.
My azumarill’s stats are not blue but when I try to feed it more protein and HP up it says I can’t but when I try and use berrys it says it can’t go any lower.
What you need to do is go down the list of every stat with EV reducing berries until you find the stat that has EV's. From there bring it down to Zero and continue the process until each stat cannot go lower anymore. Finally you'll be able to use your HP ups and Protiens at max.
@@xavi8780 The only stats that have EVs left are Attack and Health. Defense, Sp. Defense, Sp. Attack, and Speed are all lowered to their limit.
@@derpydj12 Great now what you need to do is add 4 EVs to speed or whatever stat you think is best for your Azumarill and max the IVs, have it eat the adamant mint then that should be it. If you have the game completed you can check to see if its attack and hp stat are sparkling.
@@xavi8780 okay thank you
you can see on the menu which EVs are higher than base value and then lower those ones you don't need. if you're not sure what base value looks like visually just check on a pokemon you caught recently it will be at all base values or zero effectively. you need to lower the stats you don't need like special attack, speed, defense and special defense so you can focus those wasted EVs on Attack and HP.
I put adamant mint on him and I tried to use protein but it won’t have an effect on it, did I do something wrong?
Check your EVs by hitting the L button on the summary screen. Your EVs have already been maxed out from wild battles most likely. If you've had this pokemon in your party a long time that's likely the issue. You'll need to use berries to remove those unwanted EVs and retrain them in the stats you want.
Make sure you watch the entire video because I explained this.
@@JonnoPlays oh I see then I lower the other ones
good vid
Thanks!
Lol me and dad use the same waving animation at the beginning of our video lol
I like it!
@@JonnoPlays me too I just thought it was a coincidence
Wow bro
Wow good or wow bad lol
My same lvl has a much lower about 20 lower attach after reducing sp.attack
If it doesnt sparkle and go to the max then you may need to reduce other stats too.
i did this guide immediately after i got my shiny azumaril XD
Yes! I'm glad to help
I think it can transfer the move "Belly drum" over because its a egg move!
Yeah I figured that out after reading some helpful comments. Thanks!
So if I do this to a lvl 50 marill can I use candies to boost it to 100 without it stunting his iv/evs?
Levels have nothing to do with EVs.
Being lvl 100 before max ev and rare candy is bad are things in the past.
@@Gamemaster-64 cool thanks for the info
It show hype in box screen it under judge function in stead say decent pretty good it said hype train
I gotta figure out where you can see that. I couldn't find it.
What are the moves that you have to start off with to get good damage in
Belly drum then the attack that gives you health back I forgot the name. It's fighting type
@@JonnoPlays drain punch?
I can’t make this up i needed a hariyama and couldn’t find one for awhile then I finally found one and the very next Tera raid I did was a hariyama 😂😂
Omg the luck 🍀
I keep having issues with speed. I find I’m losing before I get powered up.
Yeah this build is more for raids I find. Not so much for ranked pvp
@@JonnoPlays even raids. Maybe it’s better solo raids than team raids. Thanks for the bud though! Great info!
Maybe a healing berry could help. Equip ur Azu with a Sitrus Berry so it can heal itself after a belly drum
Draining kiss is actually pretty good for azumaril
Good point! 👌 💯
@@JonnoPlays I'm surprised you replied even though this video was 1 year ago
How do you max out your attack.
Protein item like I showed.
how do i get belly drum on it?
I mentioned in the video how to do this. I may not have explained it in enough detail but basically you put the Mirror Herb on Azumarill and take it down to 3 moves only. Then put Hariyama with Belly drum in your party and remove all other Pokemon from your party. Then go picnic for 30-60 seconds and Azumarill will learn Belly Drum from Hariyama.
@@JonnoPlays Thanks!
I have a question: how do you use this in raids
i used it in a bunch of my lives.
Mirror Herb only mirrors the holder's Egg moves.
Ah that makes sense. Thanks for sharing!
The Herb only transfers egg moves that’s why
Ahhhhh thank you. Good comment t
Does the ability shield work in raids
yeah it does. it will even give you a notice on the screen saying the effect did not occur because of the ability shield and you will notice your attack not going down. it's good but i ended up using shell bell in the end i think.
Where can I change the ability?
You can use an ability capsule
ability capsule for the win. you can farm them from high level raids for free.
Are eggs a good way to get a shiny of this pokemon
yeah but a sandwich and mass outbreak would be way faster.
@@JonnoPlays thanks
i was afk for 10 minutes and forgot to equip mirror herb
Oof
Take a shot every time he says belly drum
🥃
How do you get Aqua Tail
Should be able to re-learn it or tm. If not then it might not be able to learn it.
@@JonnoPlays yeah because I can't find a tm but I'll try to see if it can re learn it
My Azumarill isn’t one shotting nothing I have all IV at best and the right moves and everything but nothing
you have to use belly drum first.
This vid is graet
glad you liked it
I put aqua ring just in case
That works too

Shiny: Yes
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Spe
Adamant Nature
IVs: 0 SpA
- Liquidation
- Aqua Tail
- Play Rough
- Belly Drum

What isn't legal about it? Also swap the shell bell it works great for this build. And aqua tail is useless just forget about it.
@@JonnoPlays genning the pokemon
Bro this setup sucks I do belly drum it hits azumarill once and it's dead I can't beat 6 star raids let alone 7 star raids you have to be extremely lucky and hope the pokemon doesn't attack cause my azumarill gets destroyed and I followed your video to a t
Use the Shell Bell to recover health. Also you may want to consider doing a cheer for Defense before you do belly drum so you can survive the next hit. Literally everyone is using this build so you just need to be a little more creative with your strategy and be a critical thinker. Stop whining in my comments and figure it out yourself.
Azumaril is terrible for most raids. Please do not use Azumaril for every raid. Most of the time they just get one hit by sludge bomb or something.
It works for a lot of stuff. Not cinderace though
Thank you man!! This was very easy to understand and now I’ve got a hard hitting water rabbit! 🩵
So glad! 👌 💯
I didn’t finish watching the video and thought the move set in the beginning was the final and ended up removing liquidation and it can’t remember it 🥲
Use a TM to get it back then.
