The Massey 1200 sounds good although it does look like a big project! You really are becoming a proper tractor collector. You could run your own historic tractor ploughing comp just with your own fleet!
I guessed right with the 1200 !!!. Good to have a locally made tractor, just down the road at Barton Dock Road Manchester. Still got the engine side panels, usually always missing. Cant have any oil in it as it didn't mark its territory on the trailer !!!. They leaked oil from new. Start your list of work required, Engine driveshaft bushes, aux hyd pumps and vee belts, clutch overhaul, gearbox, trunnion bushes, drive shaft u/j's, brake cylinders etc. That will keep you busy for a few weeks. The 3070 was bad, been launching boats by the state of the cab. Good luck to the new owner.
Yeah that 3070 was sounding like it needed major surgery on the transmission to repair the dreaded forward and reverse synchromesh! If they had A & B on shuttle 🤯😥😭
@@keithk1246 Could have just been the bottom of the gearstick wound down too low. This prevents full movement of the forward / reverse selector rail, but as you say the A / B synchro nut has probably come loose. Time for the welder!!!

I have always liked the look of Massey 1200/1500, a bit of a project there. Good luck with the open day, shame I can't make it, it's a bit far to be honest. You need an equalled wheeled County in your collection, I know someone near me that has probably 30 countys all in a huge shed.
Look forward to the 1200 project. Use to be a farmer with a 1200 and Heston bale in our area. All his kit was similar condition to your 1200. Had to be careful in harvest evenings if you saw a single light. Because it was him coming towards you with only a head torch on
The MF 1200 is fantastic what a great buy!! With the Case and MB Trac you’ve now got three of the best equal wheel tractors. Also you’ve got the MF 3070 as well so you’ve got a really good range of tractor brands with MB, Case, Fendt, MF.

Had many happier hour spent on a massey 1200. Used to go anywhere and when going uphill at night used blow sparks out the exhaust. Gearbox wasnt syncho until the 1250 which was abit more luxurious in those days but basically just like a 135.
Great to see the MF1200 arrive. Thought you had bought the MF 3070 as well. Spent many hours in a 3070 datatronic in my teenage years in the 90's on my Dads farm. Happy memories. Hope everything goes well tomorrow on your open day.
Brilliant blog Olly - so I was right about it being a MF1200 coming!! What a fantastic collection of big classics you are building up - unbelievable!! And a total credit to you.
