My niece is currently visiting Hawaii I will have to recommend these to her❤❤
Aloha! We drive past there all the time and never really noticed this place. Looks really good. Gotta check it out one day. Thanks for sharing this place with us.
Definitely give them a try! Make sure to tell them Tabieats sent you. Super friendly owner.
Nice to see you both back again I've missed you both ❤❤❤
I'm _so_ happy to see you back in Hawaii! I know your mom loves having you there as much as you both love being there. It makes me homesick. I was searching on Zillow today for 1 & 2 bedroom condos in Honolulu, and was surprised to see many acceptable places that were very affordable (compared to where I live). I know it sounds silly, but if I won the lottery (hahaha!) I'd give you two enough money to buy a condo so you'd be free to spend more time near your mom and family, Shinichi. Hey, maybe you could do "TabiEats does Hawaii" part of each year. 😄 🌺🤙 The grindz at Koyetsu Chaya looked ‘ono and, yeah, portions are choke. See, I still remember pidgin. 😊 Aloha nui. 💚💙
Aww you’re so sweet for saying that. I hope you can visit Hawaii again soon.
@@TabiEats Thanks! I hope I can too! Hawaii has felt like home ever since I lived there as a kid. 💙🌺
Great video guys... I miss Oahu.... lived there in the 80s... Loved Hula Marys (Hamburger Marys) back in the day..
Everything looks so good! 😭 ♥️
But but but, does Gunter reeeeally hate hugs? I'm sure he'd love one from the Ice King?
Ahhhhh you made me so nostalgic! That show was EPIC!! ❤
Here’s what I think…you two are the best!!! Looked good. Glad you’re in Hawaii with family.♥️
Definitely will be eating there when I visit Hawaii SGI. Looks so delicious thank you for this video.
We will be in Oahu in November. We have added this to our must eat list! 🌺
Will definitely get the karaage. We want to see how flavorful it is. Looking forward to trying the dipping sauce.
I am a long time fan would love to see you guys do a Japanese traditional tea ceremony. Give some history and the importance of it while doing the ceremony just a idea
I just passed by that restaurant the other night heading to Sasabune and was wondering how it was. Good to know.
Also, saw you guys at the airport in Honolulu weather earlier this year or last year (can't remember as everyday seems to blend together after a few weeks). Wasn't sure if you guys were the "come say hi" type or "I'm tired leave me alone" type.
I'm so jealous of all three of your bentos as I sit eating my bowl of egg drop soup with tofu and bok choy.
I like eating karage with rice and curry and it is amazing.
I went there yesterday for the first time and they had the BEST karaage I've ever eaten. Usually other places it's too doughy or incredibly greasy. This wasn't greasy at all and not over powering in garlic or ginger.
Local is best but if the place gets good reviews, check it out. Did giggle a bit at the fact you are in Hawaii, eating at a Japanese place, and they have (Mexican) taco salad with Caesar dressing. The pork and ginger dish looked so good. Hello from lovely Oregon US.
Looks so good!
OMG! I've walked right by this place way too many times and never thought to look at the menu--but only because it sits between two of my favorite restaurants in Hawaii. Just a few doors to the right is Yaki-yaki Miwa. Authentic Japanese teppanyaki. The head chef is from Fukuoka. The food there is soooo good! The Hokkaido scallops with Ong Choy is a must-have appetizer. To the left, at the far end of the next building, is Chez Kenzo Bar and Grill. The Japanese owner, Kenzo-san, decided that the locals needed a low-key place to get Yoshoku cuisine. It's a real deal hidden gem. It's not fancy and looks like your typical Oahu bar and grill, but the menu speaks for itself. Get yourself a natto omelet!
@@TabiEats Kenzo-san is the best! The vibe can’t be beat when he’s in the room. You don’t need to know him to know him. It’s like seeing Elvis.
Taco rice seems interesting. Gonna have to work on that one at home!
Can someone please tell me why everything is served in styrofoam and plastic? For takeaway I can understand it (although I do not like it) but when you are actually eating inside at a table there is no need to produce unnecessary waste. The food itself looked quite tasty though. Happy to see you back in Hawaii - enjoy you stay there.
I love taco rice, ever since you two did something a while back. So, now, it's a regular on my home cooked meals. I also tried fajita rice, utilizing the same concept. I also do Japanese sesame chicken, is that similar to chicken karaage?
So happy you enjoy taco rice. We have to try your fajita rice one day. Chicken Karaage is more like boneless fried chicken with a bit of sweetsoy sauce flavor.
@@TabiEats umami fried chicken, I'll see what I can do here at home. For the fajitas, I make it as usual, except I replace half of the lime juice with Kikkoman soy sauce. Skirt steak 500 grams, onion, 3 (or more) different colored bell peppers, celery, 2 (or more) TBS cilantro, 1 TBS (or more) cumin, red pepper flakes (to taste), garlic (optional), equal parts soy sauce & lime juice (3/4 tsp each, or to taste), and will sometimes use sake to deglaze the pan.
Lol you're there with Mike. What's up, Mike!
Interesting video! I was wondering if there are good Hawaiian restaurants in Japan!
I heard about one place in Akasaka that’s pretty good, but i think that’s the only place
Guys, the food looks tasty!! he asahi zero alcohol beer is pretty good. I'll drink it at restaurants when I'm driving and can't consume alcohol.
What's going on people why are we not liking the videos. Is there a reason that I don't know? Still hit the 👍❤ for these two awesome people.
yum
Now I'm going to have to try to find asahi non alcohol where I live
go to kaua'i and try the white pineapple
I figured out how to custom order in Hawaii to stay gluten free so traveling companion can eat where they want. Seems that's not done in Japan?
This Hawaiian kotetsu looks doable, I can just have eggs, cabbage and rice:)
You’re correct in that most places on Japan don’t customize. This place here will try and do their best to accommodate.
@@TabiEats Thank you for answering. Japan is my ultimate travel goal. It matters so much to try for as many places as possible yet food and time are obstacles. I must learn to find enjoyable gluten-free food and find a way to get more than 5 days vacation together. Learning the food when you have food allergies is a big part of a good trip!:)
I do wonder if the beer is purely alcohol free because in the US 0% and alcohol free beer can contain some if really very little alcohol so if you are on medication that will react to such stay away also when cooking you don't burn away all the alcohol just wanted to prevent someone from experiencing bad medical issues from medication
😘😘❤️🤩😍🥰🌈🙏💯🌹🌹
i visited Hawaii and tried their Japanese food and it was not good! i thought being surrounded by the ocean they would have amazing seafood but that was not true at all. Everything had to be shipped into the island so nothing was good. California has superior Authentic japanese food, i was so dissapointed.
Nice to see you back in Hawaii
