How do you have that already I only completed 5/12 and I have all the Japanese ships and captains I also have the Yamato as well so how do you have already?
Shimakaze was a real ship during WWII and it was one of only two ships in the IJN that were designed to have type 93 torps (Shimakaze and Yubari). All of the other ships were modernized to have type 93s. The Shimakaze was destroyed by aircraft in November of 1944. Weird Fact: The Shimakaze design was supposed to have 2 launchers but the would have SEVEN torpedoes in EACH launcher. Yeah, 7! The reason why they went with the 15 in 3 launchers was because if the automatic targeting on the torpedoes was disabled and they had to move it manually, they wouldn't be able to. So they made it so that they had enough weight so that they would be able to aim the torpedoes manually. Just a little bit of history for you. Love the videos everyday! Keep them coming!!

Shimakaze has 15 torpedoes. If you hit all of these torpedoes on every ship, he is gone. Just to realise that 1 torp of the Shimakaze does 22.000 damage

Shimakaze was actually built...she served in the Aleutian Islands a lot, then escorted convoys (biggest problem for IJN in 1944), then, finally, was with Kurita's Center Force descending into Leyte Gulf with a chance to shoot 15 torpedoes...
...and couldn't, because her decks were crowded with survivors from ships sunk by the American carriers the day before...
Finally met her fate in a US air raid ...likely without much fuel aboard...
Yesterday, torps were my bane. Nothing worse than seeing 2 groups of torps coming from both sides in tight formation. Thanks for the sneak peak.

Here’s some history!
Shimakaze was indeed a real ship although her career was very...average. She was the lead screen ship during the evacuation of Alaska, took part in the legendary battle of Surigao Strait (where she picked up survivors off Musashi) and even the Battle off Samar alongside Yamato. However, loaded with survivors, she was in the back of the fleet when Taffy 3 was engaging the battleships.
She sunk in Ormoc Bay on November 11, 1944 during a convoy escort mission alongside Akizuki-class Wakatsuki and Yugumo-class Naganami & Hamanami.
Hundreds of aircraft swooped in on the four destroyers. Trapped in the bay, their speed and maneuverability was negated. Shimakaze took a bomb to the front turret, and later burned, exploding her magazine, sinking her.
Her wreck was found only recently.
Shimakaze means “Island Wind.”
Random fact, Shimakaze has 40km torpedoes
Just got this one this week. Two notable moments: wiped out a Yamato from full health with a torpedo volley at the start of a match, and took out a Jean Bart and a Conqueror (both had less than half health left) for a double kill.
Torpedo tsunami coming at you at 80 knots…wow.
If this had a torpedo reload booster it would be so op...

Whats funny is this is a Tier 10 ship, along with Yamato. But he is playing against T7 maybe T8. Shima was meant to be pitted against ships that can take more than a single spread of torpedos. Like Yamato with its 55% torpedo damage reduction.
LoL we have a lot of tier 8s and 9s as our tier 7s and honestly it isn't so bad going against the legendary ships you just gotta do your best to outplay them.
Most people have no idea how to play their Legendary ship
I usually nickname Japanese ships if I can make references to something. Here is what I currently got :
Yukiko Amagi (female character from persona 4)
Shin mogami tensei (reference to the shin megami tensei games)
Shimakaze tensei (reference to SMT)
Bakatsuki (reference to all destroyer players who die to quick. That includes me as well)
Hatsuharu okumura (female character in persona 5)
Strange... I sense a bit of a theme going on...
I usually don't have a problem with this destroyer other than the fact that I just played a game and there was four of these destroyers on the enemy team launching 15 torps across the map. Kinda like WOT with artys they need to limit how many destroyers there are on to two or one especially if it's a legendary
I guess it makes sense that a Japanese commander might have a German (and maybe Polish/Russian) inspiration, but from memory, I'm pretty sure you can make a Japanese commander have an American inspiration, which literally makes like no sense at all xD Though, I'm really impressed that they actually researched and used real historical admirals and commanders.
Can you imagine what someone who is very good with torpedoes will do with this DD.
Going to be glorious when folks who actually are good get a hold of this thing!

I hope for one or more (radar) cruisers. To counter these new destroyer threats. As I find the Alaska to be to large & unwieldy to be an effective DD hunter.
@@Longerbow yup! Alaska reloads 15+ seconds and radar isnt even more than a minute. So by the time you get to reload your guns for another salvo, the radar is pretty much done.

Good ole Spartan maths again. Confusing the torp ranges, it was showing that the longer range torps range to12.8km (+2 or 3km over the base torp range on the screamers, 9ish km), you don't take the 12.8km and add the extended range (the +2.5km or whatever it was) on that. 16km torpedoes would be ridiculous, especially when there'd be upwards of 15 of them. Otherwise we'd have troll divisions of these things launching torps into spawns at the start to catch all the Battleships still trying to figure out where the throttle and rudder controls are
Granted, 12.8km is still kinda ridiculous.

Yes this shimakaze did sail during ww2. Sunk in 1944 in the Philippines
But then with torpedo thingy the reload time would go up to 2:10 for torpedo reload which sucks,and the minus 9 knots,but that plus 3000 dmg is nice tho o don’t have it cause I’m not a community contributer

Love WG's "balancing" where a larger displacement "Cruiser type" Destroyer has concealment as good as a Yudachi.
Dude his commander is giving him -19.35% detectability + camo for 4.5% & equipment for another 10%. Thats almost 45% extra concealment.
@@theprinceofallsaiyans5830 Yes, and that same commander on Yudachi gives the ships roughly equal detectability. So, without any commander assigned they still have similar detectability between a smaller DD and a large "Cruiser type" that should probably be closer to a French DD in detectability, if not a U.S. DD.

I’m working on the Khabarovsk right now. I can’t wait until I get it because I really enjoy the Tashkent so I’m sure I’ll enjoy the Khabarovsk.
Well now I feel like an idiot. I didn't even realize this and the Kabarosk were in the Bureau. I've been on Yamato for a long while as I have pretty much no Commanders ranked up enough or the right ships to speed the resources and had no need to scroll right and see the two new DD's.
Shimakaze div 45 torps - maximum area denial! - It's going to feel like ranked on Strait again - I am going to be playing Tier 6 for a bit - cheers Chris
Late on watching this video and I can't believe we have shimakaze on wow legends. PC removed it was requested back but I am glad I have not fought this ship yet. I want it but that be later on.
I sunk Shimakaze today with my Yamato and it had the CC camo but didn't recognized the name...

Can anyone tell me are swirski and erich bey has the same ability for a destroyer?. Bey has - % detectibility of destroyer. Swirski has - % sea detectibilty range.
How do you get your engines shot up? You have what almost 10km torpedos and the commander is giving you an extra 19.35% to concealment on top of 4.5% camo for nearly -24% sea detectability. And she sits at 6-7km stock?
This ship can be annoying if you're in a battleship and the shimakaze is the one targeting you

LoL I didn't do crap in that match but try to stay alive and then torp the Bismarck at the end. I may post the second match but not sure He kills me and his team wins but I did 135k damage and tried to carry my team should have done more to get caps

People always say inc Spartan it's a domination and your in a dd rush a cap at the start but i dont personally i stay on the edge then ships dont know your there and its easier to torp ships pushing
Since legends is allergic to tier 10, I still think they should have tier 8 then legendary. It just makes sense to me.
11.6km(could be further don't know with Shimy yet) (edit:OK 12.8km) torps and you want to get close to them?
I use the shorter range but faster torps and use my concealment to close the distance as it makes landing the torps much easier than constantly launching at max range.

@@SpartanElite43 I have all the requirements for my Shimakaze and my Khabarovsk is lil behind on segment 8 stage 1....I’ve lost about 3 days due to power outage...I’ll be finished in about 4 weeks( IJN Shimakaze).....that extra 1 second from premium ships would of been even better for me. 3400 doubloons per segment is a waste...I’m getting 22hrs a day per segment.....so I have no reason to boost.
And....out the window I go for Legendary because I'm not dealing with shima's. Yudachi's are annoying as is. As a BB main. That's a nightmare waiting to happen because most cruisers have no idea how to hunt DD's.

Still broken dds without their counters which in my opinion are carriers, and cruisers are just fire spamming thing (most of them) or players that dont push up with the battleships and dont do their work. Shima with 3 sets of torps, thats insane. And not to mention the other one. The rusian one, I forgot the name.
Edit: Shimakaze was launched in 1942, which I assume it did participate in battles, I belive she was in Leyte gulf or something.
CVs are broken themselves. They have no counter.
@@snowykaze Good Anti Aircraft defenses is the counter, but we'll have to see how the aa affects the planes in terms of damage.
@@prgamer7367 The DD's aren't the problem. It's the concealment that is. The rework for secondaries is great but it mostly impacts the German line. Other lines, not so much. I can kill DD's in a BB just fine. I've dev striked fubuki's many times. My problem is the 4.7km concealment and the secondary range of most ships.
@@godzillaiv2096 For me the main problem is that and the torpedo seeing range, for me the game announces the torps when they're like 1km away from me, and for me thats undogeable XD.
I just finished a match where i ran into a shimakaze in my yamato.
I was like.. well, games over for me. But luckily the destroyer on my side scared it off.
Also.. i have my kagero down to 4.5 km detection range.
I have both my inspiration captains at lvl 16 tier 3.
But 1.7 km detection on the torpedos is crap.
So i rather use my lightning or z-23. Much better destroyers. Better torps, better guns, better hp.
Ps.. last night i had my best game so far.
It was in the yamato.
240k damage, 11 citadels, 5 kills and 3400 base xp 😀
Aaaand.. we lost the match coz my team mates did absolutely nothing.
1 other ship killed 1 ship and thats it.
I want ai team mates to be a option. Please wargaming.. read this.

Why do you not show the Economy screen? Has Wargaming asked you not to do that? I notice that a lot of UA-cam WoWS players don't show that screen. Just makes me wonder. More information is always better and we're talking about an additional click with three seconds of time showing the screen.

@@mikeD1234 Ahh yes you are correct! I forgot there were 2 different tasks, been so long that I've lumped them into one task. Regardless, Odin was a campaign ship, not a bureau ship. That being said, I wouldnt hold my breath for them to release it as a Gxp ship anytime soon.
