Very helpful, I was about to buy this card , everything you described about the fake is what this card had. Ty . Saved me a from wasting my gas and a little cash. I knew it was too good to be true, it was selling real cheap
The 84 donruss is one of the most faked cards in the hobby. I'll be covering it soon. Easiest way on that one is to put it under a loupe and look at the print pattern
@@BreakoutCards it was faked while he was still playing as , it was the number one desired card around 86-89 till he got hurt. The printing was pretty bad and easy to spot. The card isn't worth taking today. The MJ counters were an interesting story. They were a lot of around a thousand at an auction that was busted and confiscated. The cards were stamped counterfeit. Well, some slipped past those cops somehow, lol and found their way back on the streets installed. The difference is in the dot of the jets as the technology was new in 1993. The card appears a little blurry on the obverse. The card is also sandwiched on brown cardboard with a white paper outer. I bought one that was listed as counterfeit and not to be sold on this or any other venue. That was in 98 and I still have it. It's for me and gag friends. The fact it's the original of that bust in 93 gives it a value of 150 or so for nostalgia reasons if someone knows what to look for or they get scammed on a buying a reprint of a counterfeit lol. Think I paid 50 bucks for the card and in those days, a 33 cent money order sent in a stamped envelope with a SASE inside was the way to go. I wonder if I could get a half assed grading company to grade it as a card from that bust. When I was a kid and starting to collect Mickey Mantle was the biggest counterfeit. Pete Rose was up there. My buddy had a fake Pete Rose card, signed by Pete Rose. Funny thing is he signed it, the real Pete Rose
I think people fake lower value cards too. Cards with less suspicion. Like Griffey Jr rookies. I often see some fleer griffeys that look really suspicious, hard to imagine fleers printers varied that much.
There are definitely fake Griffey rookie cards being made. 89 Upper Deck, 89 Topps, 89 Donruss etc. They sell them on ETSY for a few dollars each. Some of them look like the real deal too. It's crazy. I've seen so many lower value cards with fake copies being made of them. If someone can make a dollar they will make fakes.

Thank you! I'll send you a copy to review for your channel when I finish it
Great video. Great advice and information. Thanks so much for sharing.
Hey no problem. Thanks for watching
Thats why you slab your cards with PSA or BGS, not because of grading but because of authentication.
They slab fake cards also, cards slip through the cracks. Always double check
Fake cards have been graded by PSA and BGS, and people even make fake PSA and BGS slabs and sell them.
