Thank you.I just unboxed and watching this to set up.Update : I was able to print successfully.I knew it was wired printer since walmart online clearly mentioned that.But I have wifi transfer app so my phone contents appear on my laptop and it was as easy as wireless printing. Setup issues I had : CD didnt work.I downloaded the full driver and software from their website.Also I had printer alignment issues but realized I placed the paper on scanner bed incorrectly ,once I changed the paper position it worked.
I had an HP printer and my goodness it was junk. I had to keep filling up the ink cartridges smh... I just dunked it in the fender and I'm ordering me one of these. Does the ink carriage dry up fast like the HP one I had did?

Nice video, I am thinking of buying this- right now, Feb 2022 the price I have is 44 USD, the ink for my really old printer is 33 USD. I don't print alot, but it would be nice to have a scanner again, seems like a basic little printer that will suit me. Don´t recomand a printer that you did not test over a longer period of time. After 2-3 years Canon Pixma printer fail and they can´t be switched on anymore.
My Pixma printer finally died, but it was reliable for over 10 years. If course, I didn't use it for business. I probably only printed 100-200 sheets a year.

I had issues getting the software installed. The computer sees the printer but about 1/2 way into the setup I got an error message saying to check connection of printer to computer. I never did get it working so I took it back. I do not recommend this printer because cheap is cheap! I picked up a brother printer the next day and had it printing in 20 minutes. 145.45 but worth it. fax scans prints both sides, very nice for the price. the canon for maybe school if you get it to work good I guess

DO NOT BUY this printer. This is the worst printer I have ever seen. 2 years ago it was $19, now it is $35. It has a 1-2 inch margin on bottom, and no borderless mode so you can't even print footers. Waste of money.
Does it only get maybe 50 copies per cartridge??? Because I just bought one and started printing 1000 flyers and when I got to only about 40 it started to print bad!!!!!!
Most all new inkjet printers come with "Starter Ink Cartridges". They give you just enough ink for you get started using your new inkjet printer (normally less than 75 pages depending on how much ink is used on each page). Then you will have to go and either get a new standard size "L" ink cartridges or "XL" which can give you somewhere around 200 to 300 or more pages and again it depends on how much is used per printed page. (your mileage may vary)

Suggestions: 1) Make sure printer cable is secure on both ends. 2) Try a different USB port on your laptop. 3) Try uninstalling the print driver completely, reboot/restart your laptop, download and install the latest complete printer driver package from Canon website.
Nice clear directions, however when I try to Print from my laptop it looks for a Canon TR4500 series (my last printer), NOT my new one PIXMA MG2522. How do I change that?
If you are no longer using a TR4500 printer then you can go to "Apps and Features" an uninstall the printer drivers for the TR4500. And then try installing the printer driver for the MG2522 again.

This printer will only print in "photo" format for 4X6" photo paper. Will not print in "photo" on 8 1/2 X 11. For 8 1/2 X 11 must print in normal mode, but prints come out good anyway.
1) Try using a different USB port on laptop. 2) Try downloading and installing the printer driver again. 3) Try a different USB printer cable. 4) Make sure the USB printer cable is seated correctly on both the printer and the laptop.

I like the ink wells versus the ink cartages that cost an arm and a leg. It prints quickly and the quality is excellent. It shuts off when not in use, so you have to remember to turn it on. 1) What OS do you have? Mac IOS and Chromebook is not supported. 2) Try moving your printer closer to your primary router/modem. 3) Did the setup go OK and the driver install go OK?
Yes. Go into the Printer Preferences from the app that you are printing from to the MG2522 printer. This is where you can change a lot of printer options.
Hey, nick. it was awhile ago since you have posted this, but im trying to install the driver, and about 15 minutes in, it says printer not detected, so i turn it off, and turn it back, and then it detects it again, and about 5 minutes in, it shows the same message, and never ends up installing.
I suggest trying this, shut down, power off and power back on your laptop/computer, printer and if you can your wifi router/modem too. Also try moving your printer closer to your wifi router/modem. Then try installing the printer driver again.
Canon website reports that the MG2522 has this Paper Compatibility: Plain Paper, Photo Paper Plus Glossy II, Photo Paper Glossy and U.S. #10 Envelopes.
Suggestions: 1) switching USB ports on computer/laptop. 2) try the printer on a different computer/laptop. 3) if you are using a Chromebook this printer is not compatible.
Suggest removing your ink cartridges and make sure you removed all the wrappings and tape from them. Then put them back into place and be sure to take note of how they are fitting in place securely.

Best way to print shipping labels is with a dedicated "Shipping Label Printer" made to just to do just that. To find a good one, Google using keywords: printing label printer

1) Are the ink cartridges empty or low ink? 2) Are they clogged or dryed out? 3) Double check you print settings. 4) You could have a print nozzle issue like the nozzles are clogged, try printing a nozzle check pattern to see if any of the nozzles are clogged. 5) You might need to clean the print head.
There are 2 buttons: When your document contains color text and/or objects and you want to copy it in color, press the green diamond button or when your document has only black and grayscale text and/or objects, press the black diamond button above the green diamond button.

1) What OS do you have? Mac IOS and Chromebook is not supported. 2) Try moving your printer closer to your primary router/modem. 3) Did the setup go OK and the driver install go OK?

Yes. Go into the Printer Preferences from the app that you are printing from to the MG2522 printer. This is where you can change a lot of printer options.

Hey, nick. it was awhile ago since you have posted this, but im trying to install the driver, and about 15 minutes in, it says printer not detected, so i turn it off, and turn it back, and then it detects it again, and about 5 minutes in, it shows the same message, and never ends up installing.
I suggest trying this, shut down, power off and power back on your laptop/computer, printer and if you can your wifi router/modem too. Also try moving your printer closer to your wifi router/modem. Then try installing the printer driver again.
Can I use injet decal papers with this printer?
Canon website reports that the MG2522 has this Paper Compatibility: Plain Paper, Photo Paper Plus Glossy II, Photo Paper Glossy and U.S. #10 Envelopes.

Suggest removing your ink cartridges and make sure you removed all the wrappings and tape from them. Then put them back into place and be sure to take note of how they are fitting in place securely.

i bought a new MG2522 and could not get it to print! no test print or anything ... tried everything... i took it back to walmarrt and exchanged it for another (same printer) ,,,, IT WON'T print for me either... (it does scan and print that copy, but not any printing of e.g. emails, etc.

Every time i try to print it comes out a blank page... what am i doing wrong?
1) Are the ink cartridges empty or low ink? 2) Are they clogged or dryed out? 3) Double check you print settings. 4) You could have a print nozzle issue like the nozzles are clogged, try printing a nozzle check pattern to see if any of the nozzles are clogged. 5) You might need to clean the print head.
nick what is the didamond with the squiggly line through it on the left hand side beneath start button
There are 2 buttons: When your document contains color text and/or objects and you want to copy it in color, press the green diamond button or when your document has only black and grayscale text and/or objects, press the black diamond button above the green diamond button.

Can it print barcodes? Like the stick sheets ?
Laser printers and standard inkjet printers are good for printing barcodes and lables on label sheets or sticker sheets.
What if the print driver doesn't automatically install?
You can manually download it from Canon website. Download link is in my video description.
It said there was something wrong with the downloading process and that trouble shooting it wasn't working either
Suggestions: 1) Try using a different internet browser. 2) Try shutting down Windows and power your laptop/computer off and back on again. Then boot back into Windows and try downloading and installing the driver again.
