@Sephtls, a comment mentioned below fixed my scanner error not detecting problem. fix : Device Manager -> Imaging Devices -> (Find the scanner) -> Right click and Update driver. Thanks to you and Nick for the help.

To send the scanned copy via email simply add the scanned copy as an attachment to your email the same way you would any document or image file.

Nicks, you say "ink cartridge refills can bring the price for ink down to a more reasonable cost". You mean there are places where you can take your empty cartridges to be refilled today Feb 2021? I have browse some webpages, etc and those articles are from 2006 to 2015... Happily, when I travelled to Chile in 2015 ... I purchased 2 bottles of ink ! .... I have to find now where those bottles are and if the ink is still OK... many thanks for bringing back those thoughts of us refilling our own cartridges. Many thanks for your videos and helpful suggestions.

Thanks, you got me further along than Canon's directions. I am not understanding how to put a full sheet of paper in. Do you only put one piece at a time? How do you get that slider thing to fit a regular size piece of paper? That slider thing doesn't line up right and without it the paper doesn't roll through right. Maybe mine is defective. Doesn't make sense. Do you load this thing with paper like other printers? I'm so confused. None of my other printers were like this. lol
It's best to put a stack of 20 or 30 sheets of paper into the input paper tray to start. Than move the paper size slider against the stack of paper in the input tray. Only one sheet should print at a time and come out through the output tray.
I printed once on my Canon mg2522 and now I can't figure it out. I will definitely try this way when I have patience. Thanks

thats awesome but my scanner keeps claiming that its disconnected when i do it. Any suggestions?
1) Try switching USB ports on computer/laptop. 2) Try the printer on a different computer/laptop. 3) Try uninstalling the driver and re-install the driver again. 4) Also ensure HDMI cable is connected securely on both ends.

Can I scan many documents at once instead of loading each individual document on the glass?
It only works with one document scan loaded at a time.

Not that I know of. However, my printer copies perfectly the whole sheet.
i BOUGHT ONE OF THESE... ooops...one of these printers brand new today. Printing from the pc looks great. printing a copy of something very clear and detailed on the printer glass came out faded like there is no ink. It is brand new. And some of the drivers did not download from the CD/DVD nor from online, like the one to scan. I am so frustrated. My hp printer died yesterday, thus, the purchase. And I have rushed like hell to get some documents completed before tomorrow and wanted to make copies. Help!!!!!

Great tutorial but I cannot figure out how to scan multiple pages and save those same multiple pages into one document. None of the Canon MG2500 Series instructions fully address this.

for mine, it comes with a Canon IJ Scan Utility Program (on the install disk) that does this nicely
Mines ran out of the inks and I through out both and went to go buy more but every store is out of stock of the color one and now I can't print nothing at all im guessing because its missing the colored one😭

Unfortunately, Chromebook is not supported by this printer. Chromebooks use Google Cloud Print to print, so the printer needs to be Google Cloud Print compatible. It also needs to be a wireless/wifi connected network printer and not USB connected. The MG2522 does not support Google Cloud Print and is not Wireless. Not with this printer. It has no WiFi function.

If there is any other printer driver for another printer that is no longer being used installed on your computer/laptop uninstall it. Then try uninstalling and then re-installing the latest printer driver for the MG2522 again.

There are several ways to go about reducing the size of a document or image. There are some apps/software programs like PDF size reducers or graphic apps that can reduce the size of images. Best to Google for them using keywords: how to reduce the size of scanned documents

Canon website information on OS compatibility for this printer MG2522 only shows Windows. Android needs a wireless wifi printer to print and the MG2522 is not wireless.

Decided to get this for easy at home labels for packages, and it worked out great. And I can use it right from my phone, Wherever i am. It can also be used without a phone for making copies. Haven’t used it for printing photos yet, but ink works great so far.

Hi Nick, Under Canon Utilities only shows "My Image Garden" + "My Printer". The U Scan Utility is NOT there?? However, I was able to scan a page and save it to "My Documents" using the Windows Fax + Scan. How do I obtain the U Scan Utility?? Thanks

Suggest trying this: Uninstall the Canon printer driver through Apps and Features then install the Canon driver again. See if this fixes it.

The Canon MG2522 printer has no WiFi support, so you wouldn't be able to print from Android.

I got a new computer and im trying to connect this printer by USB and when I am setting it up on the printer drive setup, It connects and at one point it tells me that it is connected, then then after 10 minutos of waiting it says that my printer has not been detected and I dont know what to do.
Suggestions: 1) Ensure that the USB cable is plugged into the ports securely. 2) Try turning the printer off and back on once. 3) Check "Device Manager" for any yellow exclamation marks. 4) Try a different USB port on your computer/laptop. 5) Are you running Windows OS? 6) Uninstall the print driver and perform a software drive installation again.
Same thing for me. Tried it about 10 times and I had about all I can take. Ready to take it back to the store. It is brand new.
Nick, pleeease... do you have a video printing pictures; 2 pictures per page no frame 8 x11(?) plain paper ,Why this cannon opens a lousy preview where the pictures show exactly how YOU want them (portrait position) but it scan those 2 pictures and show up in the upper half of the page! and side ways! Please, I am about to destroy this printer!! i have windows 7 in my laptop. FOr what I have seen here and there... they offer many more options to accommodate pictures the way you want them IN CELLPHONE!!
My 2522 has blinked green yellow for a year and will not print. Bought new inks (very expensive) and still it will not print. This is a totally not good printer.

1) Try using a different USB port on your computer. 2) Double check to make sure USB cable is plugged into ports on both ends. 3) Try a different USB printer cable if you have an extra one. 4) Try using the printer on a different computer.
I had the same problem, Updating the Scanner Driver from the Device Manager helped me fix the issue.
Device Manager -> Imaging Devices -> (Find the scanner) -> Right click and Update driver
I did all the steps yet when I try to scan what i need to scan it says "printer usb not connected or scanner not turned on", but the usb is connected and the scanner does work.
Suggestions: 1) Power off and back on the printer once. 2) Reboot your computer/laptop once. 3) Ensure USB cable is securely seated into the USB port on printer and computer. 4) Try a different USB port on computer. 5) Are you using the "Canon U Scan Utility" to scan?
