    Btw, I don't think you should worry about spoilers too much - and if you do want to avoid such, make a script and cobble together relevant footage.
    I don't think this has helped me decide whether it is worth it or not tbh. You like the ghouls, sure. World is a bit more...living. But, presented like this, it comes off a bit...disconnected. It also doesn't really make clear why you like it either - you state that you like some of the creatures and not much more - which does not seem worth the price, considering how strong Workshop is on some of those aspects. This feels too general.
    If you want to make more of an impact, and have your viewers feel enough to become interested, you need to lead them along, mention possibilities, and probably have a conclusion/crescendo that feels like you're giving your definitive ideas on the posed question or hints as to something we might really wanna get to/be scared of at the end of the content. You don't truly answer your question.
    (Btw, these are just ideas and advice, it's fine if you ignore them)

      Hey Thorin, thanks for the feedback, I'll make sure to find a balance using your thoughts. I have tried the 'ending in a crescendo' style in the past and the vast majority of comments were complaining about how long it took to recommend it or not.
      For your own decision, Anomaly is really really cool, but if you dont want the extra work in some of your playthroughs, when you turn it off, it doesnt add anything. So in this case, you either play with anomaly dlc or you dont, there's no in between. Remember that before you buy!

      @@MCGamesUA-cam The quick yes you gave the at beginning still works with that. Just as long as there is that crescendo at the end.

      Btw if you are still deciding, i'd say that this DLC is made for players looking for a wider variety of raids and challenge, especially the "last stand" kind of playstyle
      This Dlc in particular enables a lot of out of compound activities, a lot of the new raids require you to go out and fight, and going outside from your compound in this dlc also have higher risk due to invisible enemies.
      So if you are those community building kind of player, it is not really for you as this dlc mainly focus on increasing the difficulty of combat aspect in this game

    Reviews need to have criticism. That criticism needs to be sandwiched: say something good, say something bad, then follow it up with something good. For example, "This DLC adds new creatures that challenge me, but once you activate the Monolith - your entire playthru revolves around them, so this DLC is only good if you want to engage with horror elements for the entire playthru." All that being said, this DLC is not good for the vast majority of Rimworld players, unlike Biotech.

      It's not a review I said that at the start but i appreciate your feedback and will make it more clear next time

      I'd completely disagree. There isn't an obligation in review to alternate between good and bad, this feels like a very highschool-book-report view of things. Neither does your example suggestion even manage what you suggested, nor have I even found it to be true in my playing of the DLC. Secondly at no point did the video come across as a review, it is very clearly a personal opinion with respect to "do I think you should buy this". MCGames summarises aspects of the DLC and evidences their perspective that the DLC is worthwhile by talking about the things they have enjoyed. Separately, for me personally, discussion of the positives of a game is frequently far more important than the negatives - I've never bought a game due to an absences of negatives, but have bought negative-rife games due to their positives. Current overall Steam reviews between Biotech and Anomaly differ in positive review percentage by only 2% - 93 vs 91% respectively. Time will tell as to whether or not your sweeping statement of the suitability of Anomaly for "the vast majority of Rimworld players" bears out, but with Anomaly already having half the number of reviews of Biotech, I doubt it.

      @@MCGamesUA-cam Ok, lets not call it a review, lets call it a, "is it worth buying", you say Yes its worth buying, i wouldve liked some reasons why its worth buying, followed by some reasons why it may not be worth buying. For most people, this is not worth buying. For most people its going to be a once in a while playthru. But one potential reason for buying it would be possible mod support in the future with Vanilla Expanded.

    Probably controversial opinion, but I like the fact that most of the content is walled behind activating the monolith. Yes, it makes DLC a story pack (play with monolith and deal with consequences), but if you don't want to take care of shamblers, revenants, ghouls and darkness, you can simply ignore those ruins and still get some stuff from traders (serums, weapons) or occasional wandering shamblers (shards and bioferrite) and IIRC cultists. What I don't like is replacing most of raids with DLC creatures after you activate the monolith. What I'd like to see is expanding cultist faction (say, make them evil counterpart to the empire).

      Fine opinion imo, activate the monolith late game game and it adds hours to any multi year run

      @@DalmarLesage It's fine (and after recent update you can choose amount of anomaly events in game rules). Sometimes I want to experience it (say, grim creepy colony run). And some elements (inhuman meme and weapons) are still good.

    £20 is just way to much for what it is. Especially when new upcoming colony/city builder games like manor lords and frost punk 2 are going to sell for around £40. You want me to pay half of that for 1 DLC for 6 year old game?

    • @MCGamesYouTube
      @MCGamesYouTube  9 місяців тому +2

      I'm cheap as fook and I bought it, so yes. Doesnt matter how old the game is as long as the content is good. You would waste 20 pound on worse irl tbf.
      I predict that Frostpunk 2 is gonna be a very short game, 40 is a bit steep for that, hopefully I'm wrong.

    • @ThorinWolf
      @ThorinWolf 9 місяців тому +1

      @@MCGamesUA-cam Unfortunately from what people have said on the open beta of Frostpunk 2, it does seem rather short, which sucks. Frostpunk 1 wasn't too long in terms of playtime...but it felt like it was a long time. I still occasionally return to endless or the occasional challenge.

      pre anomaly I had 1120 ish hours on steam. The only games that topped this for me were Ark, Crossout and Hunt: Showdown. Closest follower to them is Warframe.
      Considering I usually play multiplayer games, I'd say Rimworld is by far the best game I have ever owned on steam. As the other games got their enjoyment from the people I played with.
      Only other thing I would add, SOS2 (mod on steam) is I think the best overhaul mod I ever played for Rimworld (as an example) , so the argument that mods replace dlc's I think is worthwhile especially with Royalty and Anomaly as these (imo) don't add very much that wasn't available with mods prior. Still worth it though, I'll be buying the next DLC's too.
