We missed out on showing you the KING of Sri Lankan Streetfood 😢 but fear not it will be showcased in all of its glory in our nightlife video and it truly has earned its spot in the average night out routine 😄😄
Can you guess what this streetfood is?😮

the German restaurant in Columbo? (sorry I never actually knew what the name was, when you're 12 in Columbo - it's just the "german" restaurant, or the "japanese" restaurant, or the "restaurant in the ramada"! I was there in the 80's and my very last time much have been 1991! I've heard from friends it's still there!

Stayed in Colombo for 3 years and loved the cuisine. Right from the string hoppers & hoppers at Upali's, to the all sort of curries (incl jack fruits), the Pol rotis or the Paan (Bread) items. The baked products are also damn good.
With a cosmopolitan environment in Colombo, the pizzas & pastas (Roccos), South Indian cuisine at Shanmugas, the momos & baos at Momos by Ruvi's, lebanese at Hummus Bar (now closed) & mexican (must try out the cake - tres leches) by Alma Flores (residing in colombo) are food memories that I will carry to my grave.
It's a beautiful place with beautiful people and a gastronomical adventure park!

The background sounds and fast pace transitions from one snack to another in the beginning of the video, perfectly captures the chaos of colombo. felt like we are back home, rushing to work while trying to grab some breakfast. A mouthwatering perfection of a video.

I grew up in Trinidad and Tobago which is 45% people of Indian decent and I am accustomed to Indian food. I especially like that we do see all non "Bolllywood' people. Your english i accent and grammar so beautiful and so is that of your partner. So we have to make you "Ambassador at Large of Shri lanka" .

I also noticed in many videos that street food sellers dont use any protection gloves while giving it to people, or there is some special ritual for all that?) Hello. I lived in Ceylon when my father was posted to your country in 1952. I was only 8 years old at the time. My dad's posting was to last for 2 years, but in 1956, he had a further extension of his contract from 1956 to 1960 before we returned to our native Scotland. I remember all the yummy foods our cook used to make for us, but to honest; I do not remember this breakfast drink you are referring to. I cannot pronounce the name of it. I think you called it Colycundu. The other dish I have no recollection of is the dish I have now seen referred to as as *COTTU.* I certainly do not remember either dish between 1956 and 1960. Are those dishes something new? I'd appreciate your comments. Thank you.
