Yay! The Codgers are back. Looks like such a beautiful trail. Brought back memories of growing up hiking and camping in the Catskills and Adirondacks of NY. I miss seeing the Mt. Laurel bloom in June - so beautiful.
Glad to see you guys back on the trail. Get a GoPro with shoulder strap mount for the Joe Cam. It is a little bit of a hassle with the added weight and batteries that will need charging but it would work well for what you are trying to accomplish. I will be on the JMT portion of the PCT in July. When will you be on the Sierra section of the PCT? I would love to run into you two!
Hey guys! Great to see you back on trail! The humor was flying fast and furious. You were both in rare form. So 15+ miles your first hike for a while - good mileage. Nice new trekking poles, David. Love the Codger cam, Joe, altho it was too high at times. You'll get it perfected, I'm sure. Very pretty trail and waterfalls. Great weather. It's got to be pronounced Mick-Kay.
So good to see that the FS road was a little better than last year when I took that rutty / bumpy road up to Springer. We stayed in a cabin up Cherry Log right on the BMT, a great hike. Codger Cam needs a gimbal, but really liked your ingenuity - you may have to share some of your proceeds with Kroger though!
lol...when we had our legs. I now have 2 new knees......one is 2 yers and the other is 1 yr old....still strengthening and gaining more mobility. At 73 though....I still want to hike....just not as far as I used to go and definity not as strenuous.
How does one become a “Codger”? I’d like to sign up! Was disappointed you didn’t show camp after you said you would but maybe you will in the morning. Great to see you gents out there getting ready for your final push on the PCT!
Beautiful trail. Hope you get out here to CA before fire season starts. Looks like it’s already started but more the southern CA area and some nor cal. Sierras so far are not impacted by firesYET
I am turning 68 next month. I just finished a 4 day hike, 6 1/2 miles, with a 1800 elevation climb, with a 45 lbs. pack. The last 3/4 of a mile is a 600 elevation climb, and my knees feel like they are going to blow up. I also do alot of couch time. What advice do you have for me to get past the pain? I maybe doing the same hike with a 35 lbs. pack next month.
You might need a little more practice with CAM ,Question…..does the broccoli come with the rubber bands ???? Asking for a friend. Good to see you back on the Trail. Thanks guys 🍃🌿
Hey guy’s, I’m new to your channel. I also reside in the thriving metropolis, vacation spot of the world, Woodstock. I’m very interested in your Joe Cam camera mounting system. There is one major concern that I have. Are these ultralight rubber bands? If so, you should sale them through GGG. $15 is a deal. Also, would I get a discount if I picked them up myself. 😂 Maybe I’ll run into you guys on the trail one day. That would be cool. Happy Trails! Old codgers rock!
😅The Codger Cam is genius! Naturally, I tried it and it works. Am I missing something? Because how do you keep the rubber bands from sliding off your sternum strap when it's unbuckled?
Are you using a bear canister? I thought I saw no filter with one. Do you set the can in the open or wedge under a log, etc? You ought to have bet on whether or not you see a rattler or copperhead?
The Benton MacKaye Trail (BMT) is pronounced "mack-eye". The trail is named after Benton MacKaye, a forester and planner who originally envisioned the Appalachian Trail (AT) in the 1920s. MacKaye's name is pronounced "muh kai".
Great to see you both out there again and hi from England UK.
Always good to see the codgers get out and about. Enjoy your walk!
Like having old friends back we forgot how enjoyable your vlogs are much respect from the U K. 😅👍
You guys are back at your antics. Great to have you back on the channel.
Can’t wait for the Codgers to get back to the PCT. Codgers provide the best narrative and photos! Keep the practice hikes coming!!
Great to see you again. The camera is moving too fast. I’m getting motion sickness.
YESSS CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOU ALL ON THE PCT AND SEE YOUR DAILY VLOGGG
MacKaye.....the silent "e" on the end makes the "a" a long vowel sound. Brought to you by your former first grade teacher. 😂😂😂
Hey Codgers! My favorite hikers. Gotta get me some of those "broccoli bands!"
OMG!! YOU'RE BACK!! YAY!! I look forward to your videos!
Hellooooooo Codgers! Nice to see y’all and thanks for sharing your hikes!

Life is good when you can get your beer belly back ...and get new spears..
Where is the link to buy the rubber bands for the Codger Cam??????

Joe Cam is pretty jerky. Gives me a headache.
I'll give you the fifteen bucks next time you're at the house!
No to the Joe/Codgers cam
Joe Cam is a no.
THAT JO CAM IS A BAD IDEA I COULDNT LOOK MADE ME DIZZY AS HELL NOT STABLE SO I THINK JOE CAM IS A NO NO FOR ME😊
If you look up the pronunciation online for the Benton Mackaye Trail, the pronunciation provided has the final syllable rhyming with "eye."
