    Awesome video. I am small UA-camr, and I think that for small channels the most important thing is to get good presence from the beginning. If you are not popular, people won't care even if you have the best videos and the best content on platform. I am not beginner anymore, but I know how hard it can be (and honestly if I didn't use a lot of Fame - ster, I would have quit a long time ago. It made everything much easier for me, especially getting to 1000 subs and view hours).

    I do outdoors videos it’s been almost 4 months being consistent on posting two videos a week and I start with three subscribers maybe and within four months I’m up to 1200 subscribers and this is one of the greatest videos that I watched. Thank you.

    Hey! Someone from Nagaland, a small part of North east India here. As a beginner I get what you said. We should not compromise our mental health at the cost of making videos for youtube.
    I have been posting consistently for the past three months and growing steadily with one video a week.
    Keys I got grom you:Consistency is crucial, become a student, niche down and drive the wave of success.Thank you!

    Brilliant 👏 video as always Jess. I forgot to give you an update.
    Since implementing your strategies from the audit you did. I've seen my channel (not this one obviously 😂) explode in views and now I've shifted from publishing twice a month to once a week and I have SO many more people leaving comments and engaging. Warms my soul ❤.
    One of my videos this month got 700+ views, viral for me as my past videos average 100 views or so.
    Here's to staying consistent, being a student of the platform and riding the waves of success 🙌 🥂. Thank you❤

    It's so incredibly difficult to stick with at least one video a week. I mean how do you neglect your family and important obligations to meet this commitment. I still haven't figured that out. I had to go away for a month in the summer and then it took a while to get back to creating since I needed to get back on track with everything else. I do think I should find something else to do. (but, what other job can you take that time off for family obligations in the US? - none)

    I used to post once a week but it's getting harder. I'm solo and still on my 9-5. Actually, I could make once a week sustainable again but I have to prep for it, by schedule uploading. Which is typically how I like to do things. But I'm still torn between quantity vs quality.

    • @jessicastansberry
      @jessicastansberry  2 місяці тому +1

      MINIMUM quantity for a small channel is once a week, so quality isn’t going to matter if you’re not doing that, so choose whatever quality you can do at that quantity, is my best advice.
      As you grow you can go to less per month but that’s not until you’re pretty large and established - for now, 100 bad videos at once/week is better than 100 amazing videos that only come out once/month.

    One of the things that I have seen lately that will help small YT channels get more views is to add SEO to the video file (rename it) I use Inshot and I can't figure out for the life of me how to do that before I upload it to YT. I've watched videos and no one is showing how to do this on your android phone.

    • @jessicastansberry
      @jessicastansberry  2 місяці тому +1

      UA-cam has said that this doesn’t weigh into the reach at all; but using those SEO keywords in what you say, how you title it, in the description, and in tags helps!

    • @Moneyfromzero
      @Moneyfromzero 2 місяці тому

      I have seen the same! And some bigger channels have mentioned it helps with what they call metadata. I don’t have an android or use InShot, but in order to Rename the file, have you tried to right click on the file and see if it will let you rename it before you upload to UA-cam?

    • @BodyBoostRevolution
      @BodyBoostRevolution 2 місяці тому

      I'm super on point with my metadata and it has not helped my brand new channel pop off so I don't know how valuable that info actually is. Can't hurt but I doubt it's the be all, end all

      @@Moneyfromzero While I definitely don't think it hurts, those videos make it sound like you'll explode immediately if you do it and it's just not the case

    How do I help the algorithm know who I am talking to?

    • @jessicastansberry
      @jessicastansberry  2 місяці тому +1

      Create content for only those people so that they’re the people who watch and UA-cam will learn their similar characteristics.
      Example video titles: “Come tour my butterfly garden!”, “I am raising 100 monarch butterflies”, “10 things you need to know before making a butterfly garden” (I’m working with limited info so these are all similar topics but that wouldn’t have to be the case if the person is the same)

      Ah! At first glance thumbnails and titles are probably causing huge problems for you, and then the editing isn’t keeping people around - the format is weird so when someone clicks on it they’re probably a little taken back, and the beginnings of your videos don’t give me a reason to want to stick around for the rest of the video. Lots and lots to improve on - become a student of thumbnails and titles FIRST, then the rest can come because that’s stopping your growth from the very beginning.
      Hope that helps!
