Yes! This detail made me trully fell in love with Kim. Kim is so gentel that even he immediately realized it was *you* messed things up *again*, he still waited by the car with you, gave you hint and waiting for you to figure it out yourself, and gentelly gave you emotional support and wise advice to move on when you are shocked by your own mistakes, again. Considering that waiting really cost some time, and this car cost a fortune, and Kim is kinda into car and technology things, I thought this was the moment that Kim had every reason to critsize you satirically, as what he did during the first several hours he met you. but he didn't. he even answered all your wild topics during the waiting and smiled at you failed attempted on your whistling and whistled back, WHILE he figured out.
I found the motor carriage while Kim was away so this made the discovery even more damning, having to internalize it all alone was funny but also quite sad.
If you choose "Oh god, no..." as your option, Kim responds with “I’m sorry, Harry. I’m so sorry.” It hits really hard to hear Kim honestly feel so genuinely bad for you
It was really a sad and hilarious moment. The double whistling was so cute, really two friends moment then the realization then the realization dialogue
I was so deeply in denial that it was Harry's car before they sat on the swing, then when Kim gently let Harry know it was his car, I was also gently being told. I felt so embarrassed, for Harry. He really has a drinking problem. So I only let him drink twice.
I think I felt the pinnacle of the embaressment at the start of the game. Just getting drunk (and probably high) so much that he got amnesia. Then encoutering and recalling the path of destruction Harry caused. But i think the cherry on top was calling that waitress that quit because of you. That really hit me hard. The car at that point is bad but if that stuff didn't effect you then Tequila Sunset definitely did!
I love how the choices work in this game. Inland Empire is screaming the truth at you, and you can still choose the dialogues that act as if its not real. The psychology in this game is so real
Experiencing this scene for the first time is something I'll never forget. Even as it was happening I thought "I think this is the most amazing thing I've experienced in a video game"
Kim and I had already talked about his car, so soon as he mentioned the model of the sunken car I started to put two and two together. When he pointed out the number on the side I actually said "Oh God no" out loud to myself before continuing. Then that came up as a dialogue option and it all felt a little too real for a moment.
I don't know why, but questioning the name 'Harrier' and Endurance hitting you with "It's meant to keep you safe" always gives me chills. A mother's wishful thinking. A name to make you strong.
I figured it out immediately once i saw the carriage because when Kim was talking about his car I thought "huh i don't have my badge or gun and I came from another town so where's my car? Then I saw the track marks and thought "Oh this was definitely me" but day 3 I was like no. But then no one addressed it immediately so I was like "Oh i guess it wasn't me then that's a relief." But it was.
If Kim didnt realize it prior, this really soldified how Harry was not messing around about trying to kill himself. Imagine how he must've felt, especially if up to this point Harry's been a fairly brilliant detective and a pretty decent if chaotic person to work with. My Harry always has sad dog desperate for affection energy
I remember playing this part, feeling the nostalgia of the ambiant... Making harry play a tun by withslting... And then, when the realisation come, ho my god i laughed, i laughed so much. for like 2 minute withouth stoping, i think i even had to take some time to recover. probably one of the funiest scene i ever played in a game.
God i love Harrier's reaction to his sunken car so much. Genuinely the same way I would've responded (then again, i was the one to pick my own dialogue choices). I kin Harrier so bad
@@EMCF_ Sleeping in the dumpster is an objectively bad choice. But to be fair to your point, depending on your interpretation of Harry, you can have a very different understanding of what is correct and what is not. I was too harsh in my initial assessment.
Oh boy, I missed that Kim IMMEDIATELY figures it out. Really nice of him to not say anything
I'm playing the game for the first time. This was a great scene, and Kim was just so *gentle*.
kim deserves the world, but all I can give him is harry
Now THAT is a quote

That’s the option I chose… Kim’s such an amazing character, a real friend.
I picked that one. Somehow I didn't realize the motor carriage was mine.
It was really a sad and hilarious moment. The double whistling was so cute, really two friends moment
then the realization
then the realization dialogue

@@bearbones7913 I immediately got the sorry cop title because of that scene. I was so ashamed. Like I was the one that did all that.

I was SURE islt was going to be a dramatic reveal of the bodies of morell and his assistant. But then BOOM

It hits especially after you cross the canal and see just how empty and desolate the coalition left the rest of martinese after the revolution
Such a great scene. I realised it was Harry's just as Harry did in the game. I was gobsmacked
This scene is a great encapsulation of the game. Profoundly moving and hilarious, incisive. It's just awesome

I absolutely love the mounting, horrible dread and understanding in this scene as Kim pretends not to know what is going on.
This was the moment I realized just how fucked up Harry had gone

I wonder what an HBO adaption of DE would be like
Well one of the main inspirations of the game is HBO's true detective, so you have that...
I imagine it as a french film
I hope they adapt the art style of the game, give it a water color feel in live action
@@bahagharingmatsing I think it might just be better then to turn it into an episodic art piece like arcane. But that took years to make
@@bearbones7913 Was gonna say Arcane is the perfect style for a DE adaptation
It was really weird watching you ignore certain correct choices. Is your Harry still drunk?
in my playthrough I would sometimes pick the choices I would want my harry as a character to say, not necessarily the most correct or best ones
There are no "correct" choices in this game, only choices.
