I have never heard anyone else ask about the safety of the batteries under the bed. I have always wanted to know the answer. Thank you for asking that question.
@@mytsolar I suggest you work with Thompson RV regarding a suitable site. Most of the activity will be at Park at the River RV Park, but lots of folks stay at Wallowa Lake State Park. I think it would be cool if you could be located in the dry camping area near the river at Park at the River, which is where ORV typically sets up the exhibits. We're just starting to plan our events and I think it would be great to have you give a presentation on your services. Lots of folks will be interested in energy upgrades. And you might even have some folks that could use your repair services.
This is an awesome collaboration. I have a very new 27MKS 5th wheel. We travel with 2 large dogs and I use a CPAP. So it would be nice to have one of their systems installed with the soft start so the air conditioner could be used on those occasions when we have to leave the dogs for a few hours at a time. I will definitely be in contact to see how much a package is going to hurt! 😢. Thanks Corrin.
Nice video. I have Battleborn batteries and live in Colorado. When we have extremely cold weather, I simply turn my heater on overnight to keep my batteries warm. They are located within my storage unit which is heated. I only do this if the temp is below 8 degrees. The BB bateries are fantastic and are only 3 years old. My solar is always on and this works great. I spend about $100-150 a winter to keep them warm and not have to take them out. It’s been colder than usual in CO this year so that’s why the $150ish.
Honest question- could you put in a small 12v dc heater or a dc electric blanket or heat mats under your batteries and drop your winter heating cost down to $0 or is that not feasible? I’m in Texas so I know we don’t get as cold but I’m interested in getting solar setup once I get my 5th wheel so I’m looking at options for a wide range.
@@jeffsecules184 I think you could. It would be easy to lift them up and put a blanket or pads below. I will try that next year. Heating pads will take up lots of battery power and if you have a couple of cloudy days could present a problem. This year my longest run was for 4 days with -25 being the lowest temp.

Nice video! For me a small (say 200w) inverter works well for a TV or whatever, but I don’t need an inverter big enough to run a microwave. Clean and professional install.
Thank you for the very informative video. I take it that all we have to do is explain what 120v items we want to run and if any of them will be running at the same time. We would have a coffee maker, microwave, and our computers at the same time in the morning. Thanks again for the video.
Watched one of Tom and Ely’s ORV solar install videos two days ago and saw they were in Bend - just 6 hours north of Redding and was going to look at their summer schedule for my 2020 ORV F28RKS (purchased from TRV - thank you Corrin) . . . . . which will fill quickly after this collaboration with TRV and will probably put me sometime in 2026! 😂 😮 😅
What's the process for upgrading to a 12v fridge? Is that now a factory option, or Thompson RV upgrade? And lastly, which manufacturer do you recommend as a 12v replacement?

Meet you there has different packages on their website or you could talk to them about doing something more custom I suppose! Their packages pretty much cover everything! Web address is in the video description.

It’s a TRV upgrade! Norcold and Dometic both make one. We’ve done 99% Norcold.
