I personally prefer the woollen braids myself, because i find synthetic hair is very heavy on my head and kinda restricting. Yarn is also way cheaper where I live (New Zealand) due to shipping costs, as well as the variety of colors that yarn offers! Loved this video!
I did yarn braids 3 years ago and i lovedddd Them . Also all the people WHO asked what Hair i used were shoked when i told Them it was yarn . Now i'm planing to braid Them again . And i cant wait . 🤭☺️
Seeing the style in pictures, I never would have guessed it was done with yarn; I always braid with synthetic hair so I assumed that’s what it was. Creative and cute style :D
Hi, hello. I'm Victoria. I am now doing wigs with both yarn and synthetic hair. this is good because I couldn't find someone doing this with yarn before I came across you tonight... so thanks for the video and thumbs up.
Thank you for doing this tutorial. Im considering doing box braids in my daughter's (7) hair, as she hates brushing it everyday and im constantly struggling with knots and breakage, and am hoping the braids will help with the struggle (since the style lasts for weeks) but also will help with her hair breakage due to the knots. ❤
So this is crazy. I followed you on insta bc I loved you aesthetic and etc. and then I ran across your UA-cam channel! This made me so happy idk why lolll but any who love how your hair turned out 💓
I love it! I got the black light variegated yarn forget the name but its redhart. Anyway I love it! I am going to do the rest with different shades of purple just need to go to the store and get yarn :) However this color is actually growing on me and I may just do it on the top the underside I will do the purples. I will post my finished product and tag you in it if you don't mind? (instagram)
Would this still work with different sized braida and different hair textures because im quite and have that "sleek like" hair and would love these braids, but im unsure ifnit will work of not
do you wash em?? or you just keep them a couple days and ten cut them off and wash you hair? i wanted to try this but i don't know if it's safe to wash
I've wanted to have colorful hair for awhile, but I'm not allowed to dye it, I might use the yarn technique for an accent braid or something, can someone tell me if that's wrong?
Yes its okay, so long as you are not being disrespectful. You can look into the history of it, and find out how people would braid their hair. For example, in certain African countries in the past, it was used for identifying different people by their age or status within a community. Just be respectful and research more about this hairstyle and how it would be with your hair type.
I don’t mean to be rude at all asking this so anyone can answer my question honestly! Can anyone wear this hairstyle or is there a cultural significance linked to black people? Similar to how dreads are commonly associated with the black community and it is a huge debate on if white people can wear dreads!
I love box braids, and I've found that the general option is truly split. Some of the African heritage feel that it's okay as long as you realize your privilege, as professional women are often stigmatized for wearing braids in the working environment. CC Mink talks a lot about how braids and bonnets are about hair care, not race, which I love. But I do agree that, as a white woman, I do need to realize the struggles my colored sisters have when they wear the same hair styles and are stigmatized for it.
Thank you. I've been wanting to do this on my own for some time.. I always assumed it was hard. I'm gonna try. Thnx ✨️

I also find cutting the yarn ahead of time is quicker than cutting them while I'm braiding
Wool thread matts and bonds with our hair... Should never be used.
you have such a calm voice, i love it

Forgo the comb and use a spiky pet brush, like the ones for brushing a cat. It works much better.
I'm about to do my hair and your video popped up on my feed, just commenting to say sis, you're so pretty.
This video helped me a lot. I can't wait to make my first braid!
This is the coolest thing I have ever seen. You’re a legend
The dog in the side is so cute!
I actually love the tip of pre twisted out hair for sectioning!!! And I'm gonna try out wet vs dry installation.
This is a really cool style. Thanks for the inspo! :)
You can curl it or straighten the yarn with a flatiron to and i like the colors on you 💯💯
This was the next thing I was about to search for, thank you sis

How many strands of yarn did you use? Btw, it came out really cute ❤
Thank you, I don’t remember how many I used for these braids but in general I use 5-6 strands per braid
You have such stunning eyes! Mesmerising.
VERY PRODUCTIVE, HOW MANY STRANDS DID U USE?

Awesome, Ty!
I really like watching your video
So you wrap it around a few times first? I couldn't get it started properly
This is super cute...
Really cute is it heavy
Also what length of hair can be used for these. Mine is about shoulder length
How do you keep them in. Like do they fall out?
So, I have straight soft hair. How do I stop it from sticking out all over the place at the end of the hair?
The repurposing at the end was the highlight 😅😅
What are you doing in Japan?
Tuto starts at 10:50
How long does it last without the front of the head getting fizzy and messy looking
❤❤❤
You are absolutely gorgeous.
🙏🙏🙏❤️🥰😻❤️❤️👍👍👍
do you wash em?? or you just keep them a couple days and ten cut them off and wash you hair? i wanted to try this but i don't know if it's safe to wash
You can wash them! They take a while to dry though
I used rubber band method
Did you like the brand?
I've wanted to have colorful hair for awhile, but I'm not allowed to dye it, I might use the yarn technique for an accent braid or something, can someone tell me if that's wrong?
It's not wrong; it's your hair, do what you want with it
Wait. Did she say how many pieces of yarn she used on one braid?
You are a very beautiful young lady. Thanks for this video.
How long these last
🥳🏆❣️

Go ahead! Braiding is really awesome and it's good when others want to do it.
No it's not okay
Just brush it

OMG! 0:18 she looks so basic here.
