Good old Oklahoma catfish in my Grandpa's beautiful pond . It was about a 4 pounder and I was really proud of it . He raised catfish in big wire cages and two of the rotted out and so he let us fish for them . He also taught us ( he was Cherokee ) that it was better to find the soft spot on their foreheads and put a broom straw in it to kill the catfish quicker . He said skinning a live fish didn't sound right to him . He taught me a lot ... I really miss him... Buck McKay ( William Henry McKay Cherokee/ Irish . PK
Awesome catch on the Zebco!! Those are very good eating 8”-10” size. Thank you for sharing Kelly! Great looking Georgia evening.
Nice fish @13:00!! Kelly... this is why I changed from deep sea fishing to freshwater Bass fishing. The beautiful scenery plus it's sooo relaxing alongside that small lakeside cabin. The best fishing experience!!
I was about 5. at Sabastion inlet, I held a piece of shrimp off the jetty's and caught I think was a Pin fish....I was hooked for life!. I remember on the north side of the bridge was a bait shop, they had a big wooden box on a pole that said, "Caution, Baby Rattler's", under cage wire, it was plastic baby rattle toys only....I doubt the place is still there
My fist was Bluegills followed by small perch in a flooded quarry in Illinois.
Crappie off of my uncle’s dock on lake Sinclair around 5 years old and when my son was 5 he caught his first crappie off of the same dock 22 years later. Fond memories. Hope you are doing well youngin .
Always good to see your smiling face, first fish I remember catching wasn't a fish but a painted turtle when I was around 8 years old.
My first fish I ever caught was a Sunfish that I caught on a drop line (hand line) on a piece of bread and a huge hook at Grover Cleveland pond in West Caldwell, NJ when I was 9 years old. Been hooked ever since. Now I'm catching bluefin, Dorado, yellowtail, rockfish, and everything else that swims off the coast of Southern California. Cool question, brought back some memories.
My first fish was a 16 inch rainbow trout from The Walker River in Nevada when I was 5 years old on my snoopy zebco real and Ron 😊
trout pond trout i was just a little dude back in the 70s. a few years later my dad told i wouldn't catch anything putting a line out the back of our sail boat caught a keeper walleye been fishing since.
My first fish were panfish including the Wiley bluegill!
While I’ve grown chasing myriad big gamefish both salt & freshwater…
I STILL find a WHOLE lot of PEACE sitting on the water watching a bobber!!
KELLY YOUNG!! Long ago you showed us some ponds you grew up fishing…WHAT WERE YOUR TARGETS?!
Keep on casting O Stunning One! 🎣👊💐🏆
Bass and bluegill! It is fun watching a bobber, big or little fish!
rainbow trout. I was six. I'm 80 now and i still remember it!
Please give me that entusiasm now! 😔
I caught my first fish on July 9th 1971 and it was my 4th birthday and the fish was a white sucker. My Godfather was proud and bragged up my fish when we got back to my Grandparents house. Went back to the same spot last year on my birthday again and caught a brook trout with the first cast.
The first fish I caught was a 12" rainbow trout. I was three or four years old and it was on a real stick and a string with a bobber.
Large mouth bass I was 11 but I caught more when I was 7 we went to Canada for vacation. At 11 we moved to a place with a lake on it near a river I fell in love with fishing from then on it was on
Big crab and five mackerel on a drop line fishing of Bridlington in the UK England I was about 10yrs old ❤
Thank you Kelly, this was great!
That Channel Cat looked like a small Tarpon! Glad you didn't get speared by the fins!🤙😎👍
First fish i caught was good old sun fish from a little creek. Kelly you're fun to watch easy on the eyes and ù seem too be a true sweetheart. I say u catch the first fish, so don't let me down. Thank u for sharing this.
The first fish I got was a 3 ft northern pike. It was 3.4 lbs, and we were ice fishing.
It was so large we had to make the hole bigger to get it through the ice.
It was .2 lbs from a record.
All I could think of was what if you had that electric motorized reel…that catfish would’ve flown out of the pond! Cool video Kelly, loved the background music 🤗
i dont remember the first fish. but i do remember going fishing with my brother in Glasgo Pontd in in Griswold Ct. I was in grade 2-4 . we caught crawfish, smallmouth bass, and perch. The crawfish our mom cooked for us, the bass got to live another day. But the perch got cleaned and traded to the lady down the road for a handful of penny candy. those were the days. today is our mom's birthday. i sure do miss her.
great video one of my favorite fish to catch. I think if memory serves me correctly my fist was a boring old rainbow trout, but it may have been a northern pike as well.
Caught it on a Zebco.
I haven't had one since I was 14. So cool.
My first fish was 6 years old in Cuba in a Stillshouse.
Hand line a snapper with a Chinese cook that taught me.
Tu Amigo Robert Rojas

Do a collaboration with Hanna Barron And catch a catfish with her the way she does it.
Yes I will one day! a noodling date
i love hannah barron i would love to see it
That would be a awesome collaboration 2 successful/beautiful woman noodling and Kelly take her out on the ocean would be great content just saying ❤😮😅
TIP ALERT!
At our camp we had three cent miss baits -(also did well in other lakes & rivers!) :
A gob of big night crawlers woven onto the hook, all those wiggly bits seriously call the cats in! AUGMENT with large marshmallows above the hook for both scent trail & buoyancy!
Fresh shrimp…we never caught anything under about 10lbs!
Finally a morning spent pulling elephant weeds out of the shallows ALWAYS meant a bunch crawfish… They were AWESOMELY AWESOME for both BASS and catfish!!
We tried the stinky liver, the assorted jelly & paste tube & collectively caught a whopping NADA ZIP ZERO ZED ZILCH!
Ok I'm home having a snack with Ms Kelly. Saw the Cat at the beginning, at least you're not Noodling. I used a rod and reel set up like that when I caught my first fish in 1955 I think when I was 5 yrs old - a Sunfish in a cove off Lake Winnipesaukee New Hapmshire. I might have a picture but doubt I can find it.
Nice place and pleasant day fishing. Watching you land the big one is fun. Looks like a manmade pond there, a little beauty.
Enjoy, greet your pal, seems like a nice guy.
Jason is awesome! Good friend. And one day I’ll noodle a catfish!
Big old Blue Gill at the neighbor's farm pond. Using corn and a June bug and a cane poll.

Nice channel cat! Spincasts aren’t the most reliable reels, you can use a bass reel next time. Love the video Kelly!
Nice cat fish. They can put up a decent fight.
They taste best when they weigh 2 to 3#'s.
First and many more was rainbow trout using Mepps spinning lures. The problem was the river was stocked and you’re supposed to pay and only fly fish. The park rangers would yell at us from their side of the river. All I knew ( 8 years old ) was there were a lot of fish in this river behind our house. Months later the rangers came over in canoes and broke my rod on his knee. Ran home crying to mom who immediately took me to buy another rod and with a stern warning RUN next time.
Those things you always want in your back yard are not needed. What you need is one of those miniature donkeys for Pooch can play with him.
First fish was a small brook trout (the original brookie).
First fisk I caught as a kid was a flounder. First as an adult was a rainbow trout.
Flounder are so gooood to eat!
