Who else is giving birth in August of 2020 duding the COVID 19 pandemic?! No in person hospital birthing classes and only 1 support person allowed at the hospital during birth!!!:(
I’m so sorry! Watch my channel for great videos to help you feel prepared!!!
FTM due Aug 12 💙. Just dad & midwife in the room . No visitors at hospital. Mask to be worn first 24hrs . Praying for all expecting mothers during this pandemic 🙏🏾🥰
Yup. FTM in South Africa and only one person allowed to join. Very stressful

So grateful for a cajun midwife's knowledge shared! I live in Texas, but from Golden Meadow! This makes my day! So excited to explore your channel in prep for my first little cajun bebe!
What does a Cajun baby mean?? Thanks
@@priusa8113 Technically, Cajuns (Acadians) are an ethnic group, mainly French descent, that are from Louisiana. However, us southerns may also refer it to our culture without association to the ethnic group. This person either belongs to the Acadian group and/or is immersed in the Acadian culture. Honestly, it's better if you just google Cajun to get a better understanding.
@@priusa8113 I'm specifically from Louisiana. To explain the complexities and love we have for our rich heritage would take too long in a few comments.

I just saw your video pop up and I realized I never thanked you.
I had to have a c-section in 2015 with my first sweet babe. So I was terrified last year(2019) knowing I did NOT want that again. I took so much of your advice and had my vbac on June 19th 2019!
I’m so fortunate and blessed. I did so much to prepare for it and your advice was definitely so appreciated. So thank you 😊🙏🏻
That’s amazing!!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 congrats to you!!! Thank you so much for letting me know these videos helped!!

Noticed your comment. Did you end up having an “unassisted” birth? How did it go? I’m considering what I want to do when I’m pregnant, so getting feedback about things like that.
@@chameleonsandcaramel5979 hello. Actually.. I had an emergency c section. My baby was breached and his umbilical cord was coming down the canal and his little leg with it. I I went through the entire day with him like that not even realizing what was going on . The night before I was in full blown labor at home ..after a few hours I pushed a bit just to see how it would feel and my water broke ..after that I didn't have not one more contractions which I thought was really strange but still thought I'll just go with the flow...that morning I felt normal no pain...checked babies heart beat..but was difficult to find.. but we found it..( it was really the pulse of his umbilical cord at the bottom of my belly .. went through the day feeling sooo much pressure down there.. then after a walk I went to the bathroom and then is when I noticed his umbilical cord was on the outside of me... I told my head right away and we rushed to the hospital. When the Drs saw me 7 more Drs came flooding the room and told me I'll be having a emergency c section and I will no longer be able to have a natural birth( after 5 natural births) and that my baby's life is in danger . 😭 I cried so hard !!! I couldn't believe we were in this situation. For one nurse this was the first time she ever assisted with a situation like this
BUT!!💕 My healthy baby boy came out alive and very quickly! He was on air for only 15 minutes and he responded as a normal baby would after being born. He is 1 years old as of yesterday 💙💕🙏🏽
So basically... You can plan all you want.. but your baby will come as they want to come.. I'm blessed to have him.😏
Baby number 7 in the oven!!!!!!
Hey how did it go ? I’m thinking about doing a birth at home with just my sisters
I'm planning on a natural water birth and my mom doesn't think I can do it. My family has only had one unmedicated birth (my sister at a hospital), so everyone I talk to about my birth plan think I'm undermining how intense labor is. My husband knows I have low pain tolerance but I'm determined to trust my body to deliver unmedicated.
Me too babes & it’s my first baby
You can do it!! I've done it 5 times..I'm 39 weeks with my 6..I can't back down now😁
I think of it like this..my grandma in Cuba had 18 and my other grandmother in pr had 12..all Natural..we were built for this
You can do it sister! Something I have learned is that if we keep our mind right and don't fear or feel like you can't do it it will be a lot calmer than what a lot of people tell us! Let me know how you go sister, I am pregnant too 14 weeks yesterday
How was it?
I’m due in 5 weeks and panicking to find resources / tips for a natural home birth. Thanks for uploading!
Check out more videos in my Chanel. I have so much content to share with you!
you people are lucky, I am a mother of 2 soon to be 3, here in africa, we go 100% natural. no epidural no painkillers, sometimes even we are induced to avoid ending up in c s and we are used to it.
Natural has lots of benefits for the baby. The natural endorphins and stress hormones from the pain are beneficial for mom and baby and being able to feel can reduce tearing. Will be thinking of you ladies who do not have the options of lain relief though ♡♡

I wish I could do an out of hospital birth. I have a midwife but she only goes to the hospital. I wanted to do the water birth but we can't even do that now that the virus is going around
I do plan to have the baby with no medication but i really wanted to relax in water. Really like watching your videos right now because I'm only doing video appointments with my midwife now and even though I had my first daughter no pain meds I was on my back and I just like all the tips you have!
Labor in your tub at home as long as you can :) that will help a lot!
Thank you! That's the best idea. 💗 I dont know why I didnt think of it.
You can hire birthing pools ? Maybe check out that option :) Also, you can try other midwives or organisations if yours doesn’t currently fit in with what you are after :)
I already gave birth. It was completely natural. I wasn't able to do a water birth but I did sit on a birth ball in the shower until it was close to pushing time. My baby basically fell out. I think I can thank red raspberry leaf tea for that. I was In labor 7 hours and only pushed a few times! I would go with another midwife but I had my first daughter with her. She knows everything about me medically and mentally so I feel most comfortable with her.

Thank you so much for your videos! They have been so helpful to my husband and I. I didn't realize how current they are. I am planning my natural birth in 3 months. This will be my first. I do not know anyone that has done it before and even my mom is very skeptical. Would you have any pointers on what exercises to begin doing, this late in my pregnancy (6 months)?

Now having my 4th w/ a doctor at the hospital so am a lil nervous since he’s alrdy talking about induction and c-sections... thanks for your vids

Hi Kira, is there any data on correlation on women's peak age for birthing and or generation? For instance, my mom had 5 children all natural in the Thai refugee camps in her early 20s and had me and my two siblings in the United States when she was in her early 30s. She had C-section because of breached. How likely is my succession of having a natural birth? I'm 28 and worried that I may not be able to but I think I can because my mother and grandmother had all natural births.

I just switched from a hospital (obgyn) to a midwife & using her birthing center, Im due in two weeks & the doulas I’ve called won’t take me so late in the game, any advice? I keep hearing about doulas & im afraid my labor will be harder without one.
Are there any local doulas in training?

Doulas are EXPENSIVE......
And worth every penny!! Hospital births are expensive and often create extra expenses in their own nature of intervening. Doulas reduce likelihood of unnecessary interventions in the birth AND increase satisfaction. Hopefully one day insurance companies will assist in their cost, as their benefits in labor have long been proven beneficial. In fact there is a saying that if doulas were a drug that had all the same benefits in labor, it would be unethical to not make use of it!
@@CajunStork yes I wish insurance did cover. Some of us just can’t afford it.

You're seriously promoting at-home births?? My mom's friend AND one of my sister's friends, lost their babies because they tried having them at home and not in a hospital. Such an unnecessary risk to take. You should be ashamed that you're recommending something so dangerous!
I am sorry to hear about your friends. But I heard her encouraging knowing you opinions and giving birth at a birthing center with a midwife. Midwife are professionally trained and licensed. She was not saying have the baby unassisted at home without professional help. I have had friends that have done both home births and at birthing centers with midwives and had with very positive experiences. Here in the states we think that you have to give birth in a hospital but birth is truly a natural process. The key making sure you have good care pre-birth to ensure that you are low risk before making a decision on where you have your baby.
It's wrong to call some births "natural" vs unnatural. Just because you use medications to help with pain does not make your birth unnatural!! Stop with the shame! Also why do people think it's worst to use some medication vs others? I've heard people say they've had a "natural birth" when they just didn't get an epidural but they used nitrous or opioids. How is using certain medications still "natural" while using others are not? Makes absolutely no sense at all. There's no gold star for suffering more and not using meds. Know all the pros and cons but have an open mind and know your options. If you need to use meds it's fine. As long as your baby is healthy that's all that should matter
Kira posted a great video about this (see the “birth story everyone should see”) She is not shaming anyone, but rather helping people know their options. If someone wants an unmedicated, less forced, and more intuitive birth, that’s why they’re watching.
