- You've probably already got a pile of 'em sitting in your garage, so why not use 'em? Pat's got a few tricks up his sleeve for setting tip-ups for panfish, when using BIG sucker minnows, or in gusty wind that would otherwise trip your flags.

If you close your eyes and picture Chris Farley teaching this class it becomes gold.
I think his voice is closer to John Madden. Just needs to throw some “Bam!” in there.
Hell yes. I love that round tip up, especially in that hi-vis orange!
Used these on a really cold day at the lake ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxDn2sw8y7H6oNOV0envADWPlTV9pvctAA the spool was really fluent in letting the line out and the whole mechanism was really responsive to any hit from the fish, it was also great that you can adjust it for big or small fish. The light it came with works great in the dark. The only thing that I had problems with is the depth droppers clasp is really weak and it wouldn't stay on the hook unless you threaded the hook through the springs
*These work with rod and reel or tip ups **enjoyable.fishing** recommend it’s good for keeping snow out of the hole and to greatly slow hole freezing. They are not heavy so need to be held down by tip up or some snow/ice shavings if windy. Have not had them freeze down even when placed in wet ice shavings.*
The John Madden of ice fishing.

Dead on
Beat me too it!
Great tips. Always have trouble with big minnows. 👍🏽
Cut the tail off big minnows
Seems like nobody uses the wire loop. They think it's a handle. It's for the trigger. You can windproof a tipup in 100 mph wind.
I just bought a standard tip up like the one you were showing on the left of the screen. What is that u shaped bracket used for that’s on the flag base. I read the instructions and it says it’s a wind trip. Not sure what that means.
Somebody’s been drinking a little bit of grandpa’s cough medicine 🍺
Those flags dont slide that easy. Especially the ones in MY garage
Lol esp when i have been using my father's for 8 years and didn't realize they move up and down. They take a lot of force to move now
Put black (reflective) tape on the orange flag... way easier to see. I dont know why they keep putting orange flags on tip ups...
frabill screwed up eliminating the minnow clip
Look at the "BROBOMB" in the back haha
Nice tips!
Just the tip?
Nice vid. Good demo, bud.
thank you !
What is that little rail hanging down off the flag bar used for? I always thought you set the flag by that bar?
Shane Parwey it’s to prevent the wind from setting off the tip up.

That's what I thought as well
Slide it up to the notched piece that you usually use to set the flag under and rest it under each side of the that notched T piece. It keeps the wind from accidentally setting it off.
The round frabills are junk after a year nothing slides anymore the need to rethink the design go back to the old style
could not agree more , the sliding shaft is a terrible feature and get rid of the minnow clip also a huge mist6ake
basically when Frabill bought out Rinehart , they junked it down for more profit
Is this guy drunk?
You ever been to Wisconsin?
@@Boognight1 You get tickets from the cops if you don't blow a high enough number.
