correction, after school is not the first one to come up with the "revolving door/graduation concept" they followed the structure of a Japanese Idol group Morning Musume formed in 1998. Their second digital single "Dream Girl" is even just a korean cover of Morning Musume's song "Love Machine".
The same way Morning Musume separated the group into two. After School did the same by separating them into Red and Blue. Also, Morning Musume is still active up until today, marking the groups 25th anniversary this year 2023, sad so see After School not achieving the same which could be easily prevented if they haven't stopped adding members after each graduations.
I always wondered if After School will still be active if they really follow Morning Musume's system. Morning Musume is still very much active & they just celebrated their 25th anniversary the other day. People might argue that losing a popular member is detrimental to the group. Yeah it happened to Morning Musume too, yet they're able to survive till now with their audition & graduation system.
This means so much to me that people are still talking about them ngl! I loved them and it was super sad when they vanished. I loved Kaeun, she had so much potential but wasn’t in the group for very long because they disappeared soon
Kahi is so professional and talented and have the passion for this job !
even tough kahi ran that group like the military, tell me who other kpop group poledanced for their live performance, tell me what group learned to drum and march for a release ?, she truly was one of a kind in this idustry, one of the very few people who truly exuded star power.

Geez after first love pledis just dropped the girls...one by one "graduating" it went from deciding to embark on different fields to just "the contract ended" yeah cause you stopped performances and comebacks.

It's clear that they were emulating PCD. I knew that the moment I first saw Ah. To say there classier is fucked and frankly wrong. I wish they stayed with their original 5 and the PCD style

Afterschool also helped shape my high school/early adulthood experience so this brings back a bittersweet nostalgic memory for me. I knew that Kahi was a member of S-Blush way before After School, back during my graduate school days in Canada (so you can more or less guess my age which is close to Kahi's). Even from those earlier days of hers in American (K-A/K-American) pop, she was just so good as a performer and visually stunning and beautiful too. Too bad S-Blush did not last long in that very cutthroat environment of American pop music. After School though outlasted it a lot which just shows how the concepts were more suited to it.

Now it actually made sense why After School's reunion only includes the first and second generation members. Kahi is not in good terms with Soyeon,Nana,Lizzy and Kaeun.
Not really, Bekah and Kahi confirmed in an instagram live that Nana wanted to perform with them but due to her busy schedule she couldn't be with them at the reunion.
I wonder what happened to Soyeon, Jooyeon, Gaeun and Lizzy now that they are no longer with the group.
