- The dog featured at the end of the film was a former pet of mine named Gizzy. My family rescued her from our abusive neighbors who beat her and fed her cigarettes and alcohol. After we gained legal custody over her, we healed her back to a state of vitality and transferred her to a more permanent home (my mother's coworker). After four years, we reunited to produce the ending of this film. Unfortunately, in a very ironic and melancholy twist, she unexpectedly passed away one week after filming. Her cause of death is unknown. In a way, this film translated its fictional story into reality, producing a great deal of the project's intimate importance with the hearts of my family and I.
Additionally, the old gentlemen that plays the older version of the protagonist was my step grandpa. One month after filming concluded, he too passed away from natural causes. As difficult as it was to finish editing this film, it was very important to me and many others that this project be done.
A short-film created by Gavin Keeney.

"Waking up kills you, and reality keeps you dead." Damn that was such a great line

The fact that 2 of your loved ones died after this film is shocking. It may be a year later but i have my condolences with you. You have lots of potential becoming a official filmmaker so dont give up
Woah, Gavin this is beautiful.
stop i nearly cried, that old man at the end looks exactly like my grandpa.
We love your short film Gavin. Well done! Thank you and your family for nursing Gizzy back to health and allowing us to love her and spoil her before her unexpected passing. She stole my heart and we miss her so much.
