    Exactly it’s been three games the fact that people saying we are playing better without Sengun is laughable. It’s like they are too focused on what happened recently then in the past.
    Now then lets talk about the defense. They are playing a switch one on one defense that’s a playoff defense. But it is exhausting to play that way.
    Hopefully our guys can get use to playing that defense because like you said if they play like Denver Miami and the Warriors they can destroy the defense with ball moving and cutting to the rim.
    As for Jalen look he was awful for most of the season. Now he playing his tail off the only problem is consistency. If he not consistent then he has no future on this team. For me he needs to play like this next season at the beginning he can’t come out and play awful. Thats the key with him.
    Can we make the play in maybe the Warriors have a brutal schedule and our is easy and the Lakers has a somewhat easy schedule too. We need the Warriors to collapse for us to have a chance.
    I’m glad these guys are playing meaningful basketball games and playing these types of games will help us out in the long run next year

      They were 4-1 run with Sengun, including wins vs the Suns and also Sacremento, as well as a comfortable job against Spurs. This recent run includes a narrow win against Spurs (bottom in West), 2 wins vs Washington (Bottom in East) , beating the Cavs (who have been poor in March).

  • @BossNerd

    The Jalen Green thing is all about consistency. Consistency and Availability have to be treated like shooting, rebounds or any other stat when evaluating a player. Over time these two may be more important. You can only give Jalen so much time to develop consistency - the factor determining the amount of time is when his contract is up. It is really pretty cut and dried - he needs to finish out the season as a consistent 3 point a shooter, passer and keep showing improvement on the defensive side. I am beginning to believe like you guys that Amen is not a point guard. This is important moving forward because I believe we MUST get Fred a backup Udoka can trust. I would like to see them make several additions in the offseason but my number one addition is a veteran backup for Fred. They still need another big man with some length that can replace Jeff Green(not that we have to get rid of him). Lastly, we need a designated sharp-shooter. I am not a "capologist" but it looks like the Suns will have to get rid of Grayson Allen. They will be trying to get under the 2nd apron and they need to dump salary. They have Allen's Bird Rights so they can pay him 18.7 mil. If I understand the rules correctly they can do a sign-and-trade. We could offer them Jeff, Landale, & Bullock as salary dump along with our #1 pick. I think this is a good deal for the Rockets who have too many young guys and need more veterans. Allen fits Udoka's style - he is a good hard-nosed defender with a rep not unlike Dillon. He is accustomed to being a backup and could provide insurance if Jalen faulters. He has skills the team needs and makes a nice change of style from Jalen at the shooting guard spot. If the Suns, and not the Lakers, fall out of the play-in they may blow up the team anyway. Rockets win at least 38 - hoping for 41 or 42(my prediction at the beginning of the season). If they make the play-in everyone gets an A - even Stone.

  • @boroborable
    @boroborable 7 місяців тому +3

    why is this comparison still continue to sustain itself somehow, Sengun was always to blame since he came to Houston and Jalen was the star potential. Sengun kept improving, Jalen did not. Sengun sit on bench and replaced with random average players, Jalen was not. and this year, we got Ime, which he supposed to bring some sense and structure in, he never benched Jalen which Roosh pointed that he was one of the worst SG in nba history? This is why, combined 2 years of Silas + Ime, never took an action to make a point for this issue.
    now we still have nonsensical fans, who just obsessed with 'rim protection big' that is just destructive in essence just because their loved player is just simply underperforming for the most part. ofc this nonsense conversation will sustain itself, no matter what Sengun does, someone will have to take the blame instead of Jalen because organization just didn't take action for 3 years.

    I think some of the issue with the Jalen discourse through the season was folks pretending there was 0 improvement at all when it was just his scoring that regressed. A lot of the other stuff he's getting credit for now is things he's been doing but no one wanted to acknowledge cause the shooting was so bad. Now all of a sudden he's doing the other things? Or when he got credit for doing the other things it was downplayed. And even when he shot well there was always a caveat. That was agenda talk. To me, Jalen was not reading the game well and was just playing off of instinct which was already bad. If you look at his numbers month by month, his season was not as bad as it's made to be. He's had some really bad lows which really skew the data. Of course it still counts, but he's only had 2 bad months. The other months were solid with some good in there. Now he's hitting his stride and seems to be processing the game much more intelligently after ridding himself of many of the bad habits. The shot making is more of a product of better instincts, reading and reacting better, and focus. Biggest thing of all is he is picking up ball handlers full court on defense and it's kept his focus/engagement level high. This has carried over to the offensive end which I believe is the reason his processing is faster. As you guys stated, he is in rhythm right now and if the defense is the reason for that, then it's great because he is in control of that part of the game.

    • @ROCKETSCHOPSHOP
      @ROCKETSCHOPSHOP  7 місяців тому +5

      I would agree there have been improvements, but i don't think they were downplayed.. its just that the areas he improved on don't overcome his weak areas.. hes a shooting guard.. whose job is to score.. ideally efficiently.. him adding 1 more rebound or 2 more assists dont overcome the fact that he was treated like the 1 or 2 scoring option on a nightly basis and performed poorly. He was also objectively bad on defense for most of the season, he has improved a lot as the year progressed which i attribute to understanding what his role is on that end. But aspects of the game like focus and engagement and rhythmn are subjective.. so i cant fault anyone for criticising him based on what he produced on the court. As I always state about Jalen his impact as a star will be can you either be an efficeint scorer and playmaker or a socrer and good defender.. looks like he's taking that defense route and i love it.

    Great Pod Guys. I agree with both of you trading Alpren is silly. While anyone is tradeable, unless you are bringing in an established super star the conversation is a non starter. Frank is my last post I was critical of Jabari and you disagreed. What is it you believe you see in him. A 3 and D guy? He's a streaky shooter, gets pushed around on defense like he's in a pin ball machine, can't dribble and doesn't block shots. He has games where he will appear to be progressing and then he will disappear for a couple of games. Please do a pod on him and let's talk about it. I also would like you guys to breakdown each player's progress up to now based on where you expected them to be by now. I still believe the playoffs will elude us, but I will admit it is getting interesting. looking forward to more content

    Now the Rockets are playing some of the worst teams in the NBA on the calendar and just because they are winning these games does not mean that the team is playing at a high level. If the Rockets want to compete with the ambitious teams of the NBA in the future, their biggest chance in this regard is Alpi. Because in such a competition you need to have a high level of intelligence and a high level competitive attitude. Alpi is the embodiment of these two features in the team.

    The recent discord among Rocket fans coincides with Jalen Green’s improved performance. This rift among Rocket fans stems from figures such as Roosh, who propagate biased and pessimistic narratives.
    Perhaps Roosh and his counterparts in Rockets media should acknowledge their influence and take responsibility for perpetuating whatever garners them likes and shares. It's hypocritical to lament about toxicity within the fan base when you've played a part in it.

    They are great together. They compliment each other very well. Jalen has struggled a little but if you look at it most of his shots have come has the time clock winds down and a shot is rushed. Sengun is a consistent force, but often times pass the ball too late which causes players to rush their shots. Hence FVV, JG, Bari shootng bad. The team was not been playin to its strengths. JG and Bari are not stand up shooters, they need movement. Both need time to push the tempo and they will be fine

    Frank, forcing teams into iso ball is literally one of the reasons the rockets had their best season in the Harden Era..They played small ball and switched everything. When the playoffs comes around, teams will hunt and find your weakest link on defense, its the reason why Ryan Anderson who was a pretty good shooter had became obsolete.. playoff ball, you have to be a solid all around player offense and defense unless your offensive input outweighs the negative defense output like your Hardens, and jokic and sabonises of the world. Also i agree with you 1000% anybody on the rockets currently is tradable.

    First off, roosh looks worse by the day as an agenda based Jalen Green hater, shame on him for his childish clout chasing antics earlier this season 'exposing' Jalen. Unethical and Jalen should never message that clown again.
    Secondly, small sample size but an elite defensive unit is far better than a good one with sengun and that phrase 'defense to offense' is universal. Sengun is a beast but maybe he needs his own definitive team because Jalen and Jabari roles are defined and they're just balling on defense and offense. Sengun is great but sometimes you can have too much talent because there's only one basketball. This team is great with a Jock Landale type center who plays his role on offense and can rim protect on defense. Don't need a ball dominant center when you have a future superstar in Jalen and potential star super defender PF in Jabari.
