I would like to see them make several additions in the offseason but my number one addition is a veteran backup for Fred. They still need another big man with some length that can replace Jeff Green(not that we have to get rid of him). Lastly, we need a designated sharp-shooter. I am not a "capologist" but it looks like the Suns will have to get rid of Grayson Allen. They will be trying to get under the 2nd apron and they need to dump salary. They have Allen's Bird Rights so they can pay him 18.7 mil. If I understand the rules correctly they can do a sign-and-trade. We could offer them Jeff, Landale, & Bullock as salary dump along with our #1 pick. I think this is a good deal for the Rockets who have too many young guys and need more veterans. Allen fits Udoka's style - he is a good hard-nosed defender with a rep not unlike Dillon. He is accustomed to being a backup and could provide insurance if Jalen faulters. He has skills the team needs and makes a nice change of style from Jalen at the shooting guard spot. If the Suns, and not the Lakers, fall out of the play-in they may blow up the team anyway. Rockets win at least 38 - hoping for 41 or 42(my prediction at the beginning of the season). If they make the play-in everyone gets an A - even Stone.

I think it’s just now most of the rockets team has been together for almost a full solid season and they’ve gotten a lot used to playing with each other
Rockets needs 2 players with 3P% 35-40 , FG% 45-50 and above avarage defense. Hope Jalen can be one of them. and Jabari the other one .With Alpys gravity and bending the defense they can even increase their percentages +5% with more open shots.I am sure everybody will be super happy when we see constantly these percentages from Jalen and Jabari
I think some of the issue with the Jalen discourse through the season was folks pretending there was 0 improvement at all when it was just his scoring that regressed. A lot of the other stuff he's getting credit for now is things he's been doing but no one wanted to acknowledge cause the shooting was so bad. Now all of a sudden he's doing the other things? Or when he got credit for doing the other things it was downplayed. And even when he shot well there was always a caveat. That was agenda talk. To me, Jalen was not reading the game well and was just playing off of instinct which was already bad. If you look at his numbers month by month, his season was not as bad as it's made to be. He's had some really bad lows which really skew the data. Of course it still counts, but he's only had 2 bad months. The other months were solid with some good in there. Now he's hitting his stride and seems to be processing the game much more intelligently after ridding himself of many of the bad habits. The shot making is more of a product of better instincts, reading and reacting better, and focus. Biggest thing of all is he is picking up ball handlers full court on defense and it's kept his focus/engagement level high. This has carried over to the offensive end which I believe is the reason his processing is faster. As you guys stated, he is in rhythm right now and if the defense is the reason for that, then it's great because he is in control of that part of the game.
I would agree there have been improvements, but i don't think they were downplayed.. its just that the areas he improved on don't overcome his weak areas.. hes a shooting guard.. whose job is to score.. ideally efficiently.. him adding 1 more rebound or 2 more assists dont overcome the fact that he was treated like the 1 or 2 scoring option on a nightly basis and performed poorly. He was also objectively bad on defense for most of the season, he has improved a lot as the year progressed which i attribute to understanding what his role is on that end. But aspects of the game like focus and engagement and rhythmn are subjective.. so i cant fault anyone for criticising him based on what he produced on the court. As I always state about Jalen his impact as a star will be can you either be an efficeint scorer and playmaker or a socrer and good defender.. looks like he's taking that defense route and i love it.
Great Pod Guys. I agree with both of you trading Alpren is silly. While anyone is tradeable, unless you are bringing in an established super star the conversation is a non starter. Frank is my last post I was critical of Jabari and you disagreed. What is it you believe you see in him. A 3 and D guy? He's a streaky shooter, gets pushed around on defense like he's in a pin ball machine, can't dribble and doesn't block shots. He has games where he will appear to be progressing and then he will disappear for a couple of games. Please do a pod on him and let's talk about it. I also would like you guys to breakdown each player's progress up to now based on where you expected them to be by now. I still believe the playoffs will elude us, but I will admit it is getting interesting. looking forward to more content
Jabari mostly a non factor , and sometimes negative. One of Adams/Tari/Cam/Amen will start over him next year. He is a taller Garrison Mathews and will play at the corner with bench unit.
Now the Rockets are playing some of the worst teams in the NBA on the calendar and just because they are winning these games does not mean that the team is playing at a high level. If the Rockets want to compete with the ambitious teams of the NBA in the future, their biggest chance in this regard is Alpi. Because in such a competition you need to have a high level of intelligence and a high level competitive attitude. Alpi is the embodiment of these two features in the team.
Yup, nothing is new here. I expect because teams are weaker by tanking or resting their players for playoffs. He falters during the competitive first 4 months (pre-All Star) of each of his 3 seasons when players are guarding him.
@@bigradwolf5001 he actually has better games against payoff teams like the Sun's,Pelicans and Kings,Cavs not a bad team either, Team's not yet resting star players this early and I don't think its allowed this year🤷
@@Moons_01 A handful of good games yes but not in totality in that his bad games outnumber the good games for a net bad. He's is having an excellent March so far so it's easy for some to forget what had happened from Nov-Feb but a quick scan of his season averages reminds of 41% and 32% - worse than his rookie season. But I'm taking this March run of his. Any good he can produce is good for Houston but we need more consistency from him (a Play-In 10th spot at least) to offset the Nov-Feb fiasco. Hope he does it! Rooting for Jalen!
We’re developing our young core to become physically adjusted to playing playoff brand basketball night in and night out. Holy shit that’s a brilliant scheme 🔥🔥🔥
Megastar jalen green' le sizlere mutluluklar ALPEREN ŞENGÜN'ÜN istediği bir takıma takas yaparsanız en azından yeni sezonda yeni takımıyla izlemeye ve takip etmeye devam ederiz....
Alpi tek başına takımı buraya kadar taşıdı, en zayıf takımlara karşı oynadıklarıniı dahi anlamıyorlar. Amerikalılarda analiz kabiliyeti koca bir 0. En üst kontrat teklifi yapıldığı konuşuluyor, Rockets hangi oyuncusuna bu teklifi yapar biraz zeka…
It really just seems that, w/o sengun, other players finally have the confidence to play their style of ball, also the integration of the rookies. Thats what's most important. Adding Tari to the 2nd unit next year the rockets will make the playoffs. This year we already settled in on 35 wins preseason. So we're exactly where we thought we'd be. Adopting to styles was a learning curve. Can't wait for next year. This year is the preview.
Roosh thank you i literally had a whole debate on here with my bros about Amen being more of a scottie pipen than a actual pg . Mind you as a pg yes ben simmons and rondo come to mind but pick 5 sf with amens skillset and they all great Absolutely stellar dive by Ft8nk again yall in yall bag on this one only thing is you know i said i wouldve voted ime COY and dillion Dpoy but goid thing i didn't cause orlando a 4 seed and they didn't cashout to do it plus hey we the 🚀 rockets they not giving us shit unless its a clear cut decision But we do have dynasty ingredients... Great show guys ..... "Oh when a team streatch you out " 😂😂😂 im dead
If Jalen can sustain the defensive effort into his muscle memory then he has turned a corner. He needs to be doing well in something to find a rythm because it is so easy for him to lose focus.
man! sengun was the biggest factor crushin rock solid kings at the injury game.. i think other guys should be asked why they havent shown up enough before these last 3 games? they just watched the work horse alpi work to lhis limits. now guys put up work and thats good for them and obviously for HR!
You need a healthy balance of both half court and run and gun styles to win games. Hopefully Ime can get a good balance of both next season when Sengun is back. Of course while teams are off because they cant double Sengun and we win games until they figure it out all the bettee 😊
I was just looking at standings. We basically need to win 6 in a row (11 in a row total) to put themselves in a realistic fight with all the lower standing teams
Have Alpi and Amen spend the entire summer shooting FTs, not 3's. Just Free Throws, a player with good FT shooting form and consistency will translate that to their 3's once they start working on it. Hell get Jalen on that diet too.
Sengun, Jalen, Cam, Tari, Bari, Amen .. are teammates. They are better when all are healthy. They all are getting better and better. They are teammates and they like each other. Supporting each other is for the better of the team. The team is Houston Rockets. Not one of them can make the team successful ALONE.
Jalen been getting hisself going on the defensive end i don’t care what his shooting look like if he can attack the rim And play defense like he been playing and bring that confidence skies the limit for him
Some people can eat the meat some people can eat the potatoes is a phrase my pastor says.. for you a win is a win … for other fans they want the nuance.. obviously we can’t please everyone so we give a wide variety of depth to the analysis.. appreciate the response!
I was worried about Jabari going against Jarret Allen because of size but Jabari took care of the 5 and honestly I really like him at the 5 I know it is kinda dumb but I would love if they swapped spots have Jabari at the 5 and Şengün at the 4
I like Fred it's just that he is not worth the superstar money he got. You get that kind of money and you should atleast will your team to a play-off birth.
No player is above critique, but some of the discourse around Jalen was just out of control this season. At no point did benching him or trading him alongside picks for Mikal Bridges ever made sense to me. His potential was always too much for the Rockets to just give up on.
I considered benching him and would have been fine if they did.. the Rockets considered trading him which I don’t think would have been prudent. The discourse around Jalen is bad or good depending on who it’s from, but criticism for bad play is just talking facts.
@ROCKETSCHOPSHOP bench em for who though? If the problem was shooting it couldn't have been Amen. For what the Rockets goals are long term we gotta see what we have with Jalen. If he stinks he stinks lol but he had to play to see if he could improve in that role. And man some of the discourse got wild. Jalen was bad but when we start talking about trade packages including him where the centerpiece is Mikal Bridges or Alex Caruso something is wrong. Both good, useful players, but neither are worth giving up on Jalen at 22 imo.
The recent discord among Rocket fans coincides with Jalen Green’s improved performance. This rift among Rocket fans stems from figures such as Roosh, who propagate biased and pessimistic narratives. Perhaps Roosh and his counterparts in Rockets media should acknowledge their influence and take responsibility for perpetuating whatever garners them likes and shares. It's hypocritical to lament about toxicity within the fan base when you've played a part in it.
@@StateOfTheRockets I actually did listen, but it’s disappointing to see you avoid taking responsibility for how you handle social media and the unprofessional comments you make. It really undermines your authenticity. Instead of owning up to it and striving to improve, you tend to deflect when people call you out. Additionally, your opinions often seem agenda-oriented, especially in the way you’ve handled Jalen Green throughout the year. While some may view your “basketball knowledge” as insightful, I believe you take yourself too seriously, and it’s worth reminding you that you’re not a professional basketball player. 👊🏽
@@christopherrodriguez5054 what do I need to take responsibility for? If I’m not a professional, as you pointed out, then why do I need to be professional? This is a hobby for me. I’m just a dude who hoops and talks hoop and has been a fan since Olajuwon was winning titles. It’s really not serious.
it may be the few bs calls at the game where Sengun got ejected, which really pissed of Sengun and many others, that also made a point for refs to get together themselves.
We'll see, if Rockets make it to the Playoffs without Alpe, then the answer is YES, if not, then NO. This means winning at least 7 of the last 10 games. 8-2 in the final 10 games would guarantee Play-In. 6-4, they need some help.
They caught the second wind. Other teams are slowing down and they are picking up. Plus they play defense at a high level as well so there conditioning is going to be and advantage going forward. This is what udoka was gambling on!
They are great together. They compliment each other very well. Jalen has struggled a little but if you look at it most of his shots have come has the time clock winds down and a shot is rushed. Sengun is a consistent force, but often times pass the ball too late which causes players to rush their shots. Hence FVV, JG, Bari shootng bad. The team was not been playin to its strengths. JG and Bari are not stand up shooters, they need movement. Both need time to push the tempo and they will be fine

Constructive criticism: Looking for people who say absurd things online about trading Sengun because Green is equal or better which are just a handful and most of them are probably just baiting just means even when he plays well you have to dedicate half your time to shitting on Green and waxing lyrical about how much better Sengun is rather than enjoying the moment. Roosh you said here yourself people need to stop putting down players to bring other players up. Take your own advice. @@jalenjohnson0339 yes. They say he plays well after 4 minutes of loading pre-qualifiers about Jalen Green "stans" and how much better Sengun is. Thought it was unnecessary.
Frank, forcing teams into iso ball is literally one of the reasons the rockets had their best season in the Harden Era..They played small ball and switched everything. When the playoffs comes around, teams will hunt and find your weakest link on defense, its the reason why Ryan Anderson who was a pretty good shooter had became obsolete.. playoff ball, you have to be a solid all around player offense and defense unless your offensive input outweighs the negative defense output like your Hardens, and jokic and sabonises of the world. Also i agree with you 1000% anybody on the rockets currently is tradable.
82 game season brother .. gotta make it there intact that’s why they had the tuck wagon.. Clint played drop as a starter most of the season.. also why the warriors had a death lineup as an alternative to their regular starters.. you can’t play that style the entire season.
Is Udoka on Coaches GOAT status if he drags this Sengun - less, Tari less Rockets team to the playoffs and continues to make the playoffs each season he's coached? He will have proved he took a good team to the championship and then a bottom barrel rebuilding team to the playoffs WITHOUT a main centerpiece to make it in
You know my criteria for a great coach is a guy who can take a talented team to the championship ✅ and could make a bad team overperform .. that check pending.. but it’s looking good
Go away. It is all down to Jalen and Fred shooting well or not. That is the difference. Do not get carried away. You only played a couple of games against shitty teams w/o Alpi.
They want to show themselves more in Alpi's absence because When Alpi is in the game they stay in the background ,except J.Green. and the other reason, there are no heavy games ahead of them. Except a few matches.
@@xxvvxxxxyou would rather see him play backup minutes to jokic and he would be terrible in Dallas Luka needs a rim running rim protector. Houston is the only half way decent team in the entire league that gives Sengun the usage that he would deserve. Stop disrespecting Houston
First off, roosh looks worse by the day as an agenda based Jalen Green hater, shame on him for his childish clout chasing antics earlier this season 'exposing' Jalen. Unethical and Jalen should never message that clown again. Secondly, small sample size but an elite defensive unit is far better than a good one with sengun and that phrase 'defense to offense' is universal. Sengun is a beast but maybe he needs his own definitive team because Jalen and Jabari roles are defined and they're just balling on defense and offense. Sengun is great but sometimes you can have too much talent because there's only one basketball. This team is great with a Jock Landale type center who plays his role on offense and can rim protect on defense. Don't need a ball dominant center when you have a future superstar in Jalen and potential star super defender PF in Jabari.

@@StateOfTheRockets well ur quick to Bring up his inadequacies but not so quick to give him praise on all areas he’s actually improved on this season. Only thing he’s struggled with was his shot making n I think that was more mental than anything. He was in his own head n trying to play perfect cuz Ime had a short leash on him n is quick to bench him which I’m not a fan of doing a young player who needs the reps n time to figure it out. Look at players like Fox, Book, Brunson, Ingram, etc. took them some seasons before they put it all together. Yet no one ever puts Bari on the scope who’s actually been a semi bust for a overall 3rd pick. He has no star potential and I think he’s jus gonna be a decent role player but I’m sorry that’s not good enough for a 3rd pick overall. I can not find anyone who deslikes Jalen Green more than Roosh 😂😂😂. Jalen Green has 29 games with 20+ points. In those games he averages : 27ppg, 5.6 rpg, 3.4apg on 49.4/39/81 The narrative that he was bad the whole season is just dumb in my opinion. Was he incosistent? Yes But bad the whole season? Not really. Cause i can name many many games where he was great. And this my issue, we are at a sad point as a fanbase. We all go up and down, and don't care about the middle ground of anything. All of these guys are still very young and still learning. Lets just support all of them and be patient and understand that we don't have trade any of them.

@@ROCKETSCHOPSHOP it definitely was downplayed.
@@farhan007 Not it was not!

Jake. Is playing well and read the comments. Hey are still mostly negative.
Jalen always playing better after allstar break for like every season.
he is a rhythm kind of player, experiencing playoffs might elevate his play ,
Yeah, everything he does is for maximizing his negotiating power for a bigger paycheck that's far more than what he's worth.
Good convo as usual. The future is bright man. Lots of great young talent, not to mention Tari Eason, who I believe has the most potential of all

Yes, sengun is slowing down, shutting down houston rockets. I hope they will let him go another team. Houston already wasted his years!
Very nice breakdown on the team. Thanks guys.
Thanks for listening! -Roosh
Glad you liked it!
Great talk as always
Much appreciated
Roosh wed love to have you call in sometimes chop it up with the csgs
It really just seems that, w/o sengun, other players finally have the confidence to play their style of ball, also the integration of the rookies. Thats what's most important.
Adding Tari to the 2nd unit next year the rockets will make the playoffs. This year we already settled in on 35 wins preseason. So we're exactly where we thought we'd be. Adopting to styles was a learning curve. Can't wait for next year. This year is the preview.
Ime needs to balance half court and run and gun then he'll have a playoff team.
No, Team is better with Alperen... Roket lost so many games for 2 or 3 points.. you can't guard the rim with shorts..
If they will trade Alperen, at least send him to a better team where he will succeed and grow..

Hope Sengun leaves this rockets sheathole
If Jalen can sustain the defensive effort into his muscle memory then he has turned a corner. He needs to be doing well in something to find a rythm because it is so easy for him to lose focus.
man! sengun was the biggest factor crushin rock solid kings at the injury game.. i think other guys should be asked why they havent shown up enough before these last 3 games? they just watched the work horse alpi work to lhis limits. now guys put up work and thats good for them and obviously for HR!
This win streak started with Sengun though lol.
You need a healthy balance of both half court and run and gun styles to win games. Hopefully Ime can get a good balance of both next season when Sengun is back. Of course while teams are off because they cant double Sengun and we win games until they figure it out all the bettee 😊
İ am sure that Alpi is proud of them. He is a good teammate and one of best players in the NBA.
Thx for always keeping it real
🫡
I was just looking at standings. We basically need to win 6 in a row (11 in a row total) to put themselves in a realistic fight with all the lower standing teams
A 5-1 would be nice, followed by a 2-2, that should be enough for a Play-In.
Trade sengun out to lakers just like shaq said when he has value, houston is better without him.ı want to see him playing for lakers one day😊
Have Alpi and Amen spend the entire summer shooting FTs, not 3's.

Jock Lindale played the best defense on Jokic in recent playoffs. They will make the playoffs.
I was worried about Jabari going against Jarret Allen because of size but Jabari took care of the 5 and honestly I really like him at the 5 I know it is kinda dumb but I would love if they swapped spots have Jabari at the 5 and Şengün at the 4

For amen yes.
Perhaps you didn’t listen to what we said. Enjoy the show. -Roosh
@@StateOfTheRockets I actually did listen, but it’s disappointing to see you avoid taking responsibility for how you handle social media and the unprofessional comments you make. Additionally, your opinions often seem agenda-oriented, especially in the way you’ve handled Jalen Green throughout the year. While some may view your “basketball knowledge” as insightful, I believe you take yourself too seriously, and it’s worth reminding you that you’re not a professional basketball player.

it may be the few bs calls at the game where Sengun got ejected, which really pissed of Sengun and many others, that also made a point for refs to get together themselves.
Sengun is the only reason i even watch the rockets lol
We'll see, if Rockets make it to the Playoffs without Alpe, then the answer is YES, if not, then NO. This means winning at least 7 of the last 10 games. 8-2 in the final 10 games would guarantee Play-In. 6-4, they need some help.
They caught the second wind. Other teams are slowing down and they are picking up. Plus they play defense at a high level as well so there conditioning is going to be and advantage going forward. This is what udoka was gambling on!
I most certainly don’t think they are better but I do think they depended on him too heavily.
We will pressure alperen to get out of houston , the team , the supporters , its all a joke

You guys are great… but insane you used the dynasty word.
For the record, that was Frank. Not me! 😂 - Roosh

This is an internet brained question. Silliness.

Is Udoka on Coaches GOAT status if he drags this Sengun - less, Tari less Rockets team to the playoffs and continues to make the playoffs each season he's coached?
