- A quick video showing the difference the RSTuner Stage 1 remap made to the Megane RS250. Same road, same tyres, same weight in the car, we just changed the ECU tune.
Although the remap mainly improves mid range power which can be a hinderance when trying to launch a front wheel drive, it really does make a massive difference to how the car drives and was quicker than expected. Amazing bang for your buck!

Ohh man, i never ended up selling this car. And even though my current 335 is nearly pushing twice the power of this, i can not tell you how much i miss daily driving this. As soon as funds allow, i will be re-registering at doing decat, coil overs and some track days will be on the cars.
I got the rs265 S.L.E. tried a few different mufflers ect. By far the best sounding is just the stock pipe with res and muffler delete. Cost 250 in Springwood. Sounds amazing

It would, one day if there is a dyno day local we will try and get it mapped and properly logged for the run. If you are going with RsTuner, i don't think you'll be disappointed. I still have this wicked car, and hopefully look at doing a few more bits to it towards of the end of the year in order to get it ready for a few track days in 2021.

I was going to ask where you were based but saw that you're in Qld in another comment. If you're outside of NSW then the RSTuner is your best bet. In NSW though, we're spoilt with having two workshops that can do a custom tune on a dyno. I'm looking forward to seeing future videos of this car and its story.

I had a lot of fun in the Megane. Its always encouraging you to brake late and see how fast you can take the next round about. I seem to drive much slower in my 335i, even tho its got nearly twice the power.
I'm 22 driving 2 years. Im thinking either 335i or one of these. I have only driven a remapped 335i a few times and loved the power and you can have the back end out nicely if your confident enough. However I'm a bit of back lane lover and the 335i I drive didn't really like them too much. Do you reckon the cup250 would be better for me?
If you like driving the twisties, go the megs. A stage 1 megs is a very very fun car, that hits the spot. The 335i is a muscle car in comparison. I find i am just wanting more and more power.
The thing is with the Vbox is that it starts the timer as soon as it feels a slight movement. So unless you properly launch, it will count the the small little roll at the start within your time
100% correct. We’re in 2 minds about roll out. It’s the standard when it comes to drag racing on a drag strip, but really it then becomes a 5-100kmh or whatever, not a true 0-100kmh. Do you think we should account for a roll out? The draggy app/timer does have that ability.
Zero To 60 Difficult to say really. Testing like this really suits DSG-like gearboxes with launch control but just isn’t as flattering with manuals. So accounting for rollout would then be harsh on the amazing launch systems. Difficult decision 🤷🏻♂️
I guess one way to look at it. When we started timing cars it was to see how they stack up against each other in a "typical" traffic light drag race. Where you are of course at a standstill. So the Vbox gives a more realistic representation of that situation. What do you drive out of curiosity?

@@TheChannelOfBeast These MK3 RS Megane platform is just so mega. I have yet to here someone not like it. Its just biblical for a front wheel drive. Keep enjoying your 265. I am trying to sell my 250, i want to one day have a 275 Trophy R, parked in the garage as a keeper.
I had a 250 (here in the UK) and I managed to get the RS monitor (it was clear it over exaggerated it) to show sub 6 seconds on the 0-60, I think 5.7 was a decent effort from memory. I think official time is 6.1 so how you guys started in the 7s!?

How were you timing yours? This car with the Renault RS Montior would read in the 5's with one person in the car. But turns out the old RS Monitor is a bit optimistic compared to the Vbox.
@@ZeroTo60Tube Yea it was the RS Monitor and it only had me in it. But with 0.5s inaccuracy it would have still been in the 6s? Was a few years ago now, I changed to the Mk3 Focus RS...top tip stick with the Megane it's more fun!...And probably faster ;(
Haha what a coincidence, i bought a Mk2 Focus ST about 8 months ago, i was gonna make the switch, but never meshed with the Focus like the Megs, i still have this RS250, but i have bought a 335i to occupy my car modding desires for now, its also more suited to our acceleration times channel. I was at the point with the Renault where i wanted to make it a much more serious track orientated car, which would have devalued it more than anything. Long term dream is to pick up a RS275 Trophy R one day. FYI we've tested around 100 cars with semi accurate timing gear and on shitty surfaces where its hard to put the power down, the extra weight from a person makes a huge difference in trying to get the mass moving forward. Your times are on point with what we would expect from a RS monitor. Anyway i hope you are enjoying the MK3 RS. I've never driven one and have been drooling over them since 2016. Drive safe!!

Hey man, unfortunately it's really hard in Aus. There are a couple of guys down in Sydney, Race Spec Tuning for example. But as i'm in QLD, i ordered my parts either genuine through Renault or from overseas. There is also a facebook group called "Renault Sport Buy Swap Sell Parts Australia", that is work checking out.
There is certainly not the aftermarket support in Australia as there is in Europe. I've ordered parts either directly from manufacturers or via Ktec Racing. There's also RenoTech in Sydney that can source parts for you.
275 cup premium here with downpipe, sports cat and tune. 5.1sec 0-100 on PS4S.

It was straight from RStuner. Fastchip.nl. That was at the start of 2019, i dont think the euro price has changed, but the aussie dollar probably has.

Zero To 60 100%. May as well do it will something interesting too. The Mk3 RS Megane is a great platform and with OEM LSD can’t go wrong for the price.
Although i planned to sell it when i got my 335i, i have ended up keeping it. Its not registered and hasn't been for about 6 months, but i got to drive it the other day when we moved shops and i didn't want to stop. Its by far the most satisfying car to drive, i have ever been in the host seat off. Once i have the big turbos all sorted on the 335i the RS will be back on the channel, i want to do a de-cat, coil overs and a more aggressive tune, maybe e85 and see what we can do with it as a circuit/track day car. Have you got a megs at the moment?
Hope hes done the gearbox mount mod launching it like that lol
When I got the car I did both torque mounts and ordered a gearbox mount as I know these are prone to breaking the gearbox mounts. However someone has upgraded it already to a 12mm bolt and nut that goes through both parts of the gear box mount and clamps them together. It’s a pretty significant upgrade. Should work better then tapping the lower mount to take a 12mm bolt.

Unfortunately not. So close, but if you bounce off the limiter in second the recording device never hits 100 😒

0-100 times is probably the last thing I want to know about with a tune. The only thing 0-100 times win is sales at the dealership.
Yeah its really only relevant if you are interested in benchmarking how fast a car accelerates from a standstill.......... :|

0-60 has to be the worst possible way to measure the difference a remap makes on an almost standard front wheel drive car...
Completely agree, but we didnt want to have to change the channel name..... just for one video. And its 0-60 did improve.
Should hold it in second to 100 I get 5.6 in my 265 to 62 mph
my rs 265 has no lsd🤣 wheel spin for days
This. Got the aus spec 'limited edition' and it's the only gripe I have with the car. Might have to find a solution if it's only a couple grand...
Hey how's things going love the content....just wanted some advise. I have a rs 250 with miltek exhaust I want to pop and crackle more at the moment hardly and very soft was thinking of a muffler delete it's clamped os if doesn't sound great I'd just pop the muffler back on. Another question regarding the rs tuner is it worth it easy to install and how do I get it. thanx
Get a decat to make more noise. Retuner is worth it. Contact them for info on how to buy and install.
