Respect from New Zealand for the pronunciation of Motueka!
Great info Jus! I'd say the longest I've waited was purely by accident in that I didn't get around to bottling/kegging for two or three months. Haven't committed to a proper long game. Cheers!
I made this recently with Lutra Kveik instead of lager yeast and a touch of weyermann acidulated into the grist. Tastes absolutely incredible and is unreasonably easy to make. Thumbs up for this recipe!
Longest was 2 months on a Amber Ale. Extract too. Went to east coast for 2 weeks. Something happened while there. Had to stay 2 months, Thought brew was in the closet ruined. Nope. Delicious.
Another great video. I made a similar Mexican Lager last March using Motueka as well, but I did a 30min hopstand with about an ounce of Motueka and that really seemed to enhance the citrus/lime aroma. I also lagered @ 3 Celsius for 4 weeks and, like yours, mine was super clear. Definitely will do this one again!
Looks like a great beer! Would be cool if you planted some trees in your backyard though. Maybe grow some maris otter or hops!
Nice video and recipe. I think I may have came across this article about a year ago and did a motueka cerveza last May. I targeted 20 IBU with 8 at 60 min, 8 at 5 min and another 4 with a 30min whirlpool at 160-170F. Also dry hopped with 2 oz. Lagered for a month and this beer was great. A bit more hops/fruit than traditional but it was unanimously preferred by friends and family over a local craft cerveza as well as corona. I did this recipe after my first to push the hops a bit more just like you were thinking!
You nailed it Justin. To many homebrewers are very impatient. I try not to touch my keg for no less than 4 weeks. But admit, when I started, back in the revolutionary war days 😁, I too drank it as fast as I brewed it. I'll have to give this one a try. Take care !
Try herkules hops
Nice vid bro there is no good vids on how to brew a good mexican lager except yours🙏🏼💯
Yea'buddy! Great Video Jus'! I've about to re-brew my mexican lager with a few tweaks and this video was very helpful with that. Thx! Cheers...
Josh's recipes are always awesome, and sounds like this was no exception!! I fully understand not wanting to wait around for a beer, but glad you did!
Looks crispy! Great work
Awesome video as always!
Time....The 5th ingredient in beer.
I picked up motueka for a beer just like this! Great video Jus!
That’s a lovely beer mate
Great Video, I'm getting ready to brew my first Mexican Lager (real lager). Thanks for what you do!!
Great video! This may be my next brew! 🍺
