    Medal of Honor: Underground is a video game that is the prequel to the World War II hit Medal of Honor. It was initially released for the PlayStation video game console on October 23, 2000. In 2002, the game was re-released in Europe as part of the compilation Medal of Honor / Medal of Honor: Underground. It later was re-released a second time on the North American PlayStation Network for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable as a 474 MB file for $5.99 on June 11, 2009. It was developed by DreamWorks Interactive and was published by Electronic Arts. Prima released a strategy guide for the game in 2000 featuring the same cover art as the original PlayStation release.

      +Matthew Waugh Especail the Ps1 has a special Graphical charm its diffrent from the N64, the Terrain and the polygons in Ps1 "wobble" around which you cant see in the N64 because it was a more powerfull machine.

    • @OpenMawProductions
      @OpenMawProductions 4 роки тому +4

      Not so much that it was more powerful, it just lacked the ability to perform the floating point math. The wobble comes from the Ps1 "snapping" the verteices to a rounded number instead of a .1 .2 .3 etc... It's something that the Sega Saturn and some early 3D arcade cabinents do as well. The N64 was the first home console with 3D to avoid it.

    Great review!
    A couple of things though. Did you consider turning on the crosshair in the options? That way, the whole stopping to shoot thing from the first game is eliminated. Also, control option 4 is dual analog as we use today. I like to consider Medal of Honor to be the first FPS to use dual analog absolutely right. :)

    It's hard getting into this game now. It's laggier than the original, and the bullets randomly go sideways. The original had that issue too but not nearly this severe. It was usually smg rounds going a bit above your aim and could be chalked up to high recoil. Now the original MOH I could play forever. Love that game.

Setting as a rebellion is neat concept. I want a remake so bad... Those later levels with bizarre enemies were sweet bonus. I will propably forever remember this game...

    I've played many shooters across many platforms since the late 90's. Last holiday season I played through medal of honor 1 and underground back to back and while the first game is still fun, underground has the extra punch to make it stand up to any modern shooter. Also, even with 15 years of experience under my belt, this is one of the hardest games I've played. The later missions on the highest difficulty setting are quite challenging, much harder than the first game.

      Nobody likes sjw's, just a bunch of pussies crying about everything, and then name calling because they never have a valid argument for anything. It's much easier to just call someone a Nazi than it is to try to defend an argument based on all feelings and absolutely no logic. Someday these feelsy little leftists will grow up to be strong and logical republicans, it just takes some people longer than others.

      I do find it pretty funny though that they constantly trivialize actual victims with their bullshit, and make words like "racism" and "Nazi" mean absolutely nothing. When you constantly call everyone Nazi's, eventually nobody will care about being called a Nazi anymore, and then you're pretty much fucked. That's where we are now, it's just a running joke that everyone is a Nazi, thanks to the retarded leftists.

In my garage I still have my windows 95 CPU 355mhz 64 mb of ram amd k6-2 with 3d now..and a 16mb voodoo 2 3d card. That played quake 2 at 1024x768 at 60 fps.And I still enjoyed q2 on ps1, because, of the effort of developers, and I appreciated that....A labor of love..Like you said, even though you don't like console q2.

    Great Review and nice jab at the SJWs. However, you mentioned how the manual aiming is all screwed up, I enabled "Easy Aiming" and "Zoom Aiming" in options and that seems to clear a lot of that up. With this you can move the crosshair on the screen in any direction you like and it's pretty accurate. However if you haven't been doing it since you were 6 (since I wasn't sure what those meant in the Options at the time and just enabled them for the heck of it) then it will take some getting used to but once you do it's pretty sweet!!

    The soundtrack in this game is far superior than that of the first game. The difficulty level is harder, the shooting is more fun, and there's more variety in terms of locations and objectives. This is the definitive MOH experience for the psx. The only thing I hate about this game is that damn motorcycle mission. It's impossible to avoid getting hit and even more impossible to kill 95% of the enemies, which ultimately makes it impossible to get the golden medal. It prevented me from getting all the medals in the game, and that was really frustrating.
    But even so, I like this one better than the first one.

    Great video, as always. Shame i cannot find 64bit drivers for my cheap-ass gamepad to play the game now, and completing it with just keyboard like MoH1... i just can't do it again, no sir.

    Yoo Gman, great video as usual. I loved the bit about SJWs not playing the games they demonize and hate so vehemently.
    Say, did you ever take a look at EYE: Divine Cybermancy? It's a neat, obscure little sourcemod with a cult following. Just a warning though, much like STALKER, this is going to be one of those polarizing, love-it-or-hate-it kind of games. I personally love it, but I'll be the first to say its got flaws.

    You've probably already been asked, but I'm new to yr channel (love that you're looking at all these old games, I had a blast with some of these titles you've reviewed as a younger man). You ever thought about playing the Killzone games? I've always been kinda keen to give them a go, even if I haven't heard too many great things about the later games, and the setting/lore seems kind of interesting. Just got a copy of the first one from EBay for like $6, so I'm gonna get stuck into it.

      +gilgamesh310 I disagree. I thought it felt out of place. These are his videos though, so I can't really tell him to stop. Besides, he's once of the most honest reviewers around so even if there's one or two things he says that I don't like, his opinions on games are very well articulated.

    I miss this style of shooter so much. EA put out so many between MOH and their Bond games. While MOH1 felt a little more tactical at parts given the weaponry and ammo count Underground goes a lot more actiony so whichever you want more you got a few options

    Oh boy, I loved this game and it's predecessor back then and I still do. Fired them up couple of years ago via emulator and still enjoyed them thoroughly. The only real bone to pick for me is the inexplicable inacurracy of the crosshair. Oh and I have to say that I looove the soundtracks. I was convinced they were composed by Williams before I looked Giacchino up on the internet.

    Hey gggman, I have some suggestions if interested. Mace Griffin Bounty Hunter, Pariah, and Darkwatch seem to be forgotten shooters that sort of flopped during the glut of console FPS games during Xbox/PS2 era (excluding Turok). I never played them, but each one seemed to have a cool concept or game play feature, but never really took off. Also Turok (2008) is another.

    • @AssaulteedOne
      @AssaulteedOne 8 років тому

      Eh, Pariah was kind of mediocre back then so it's understandable why it was pretty much ignored. I'd probably play it again sometime though - for some reason I remember laughing a lot at how ridiculous the end of the game was.

    Hey man, would you consider doing a review of Codename: Eagle (1999)? It's old, has kinda clunky controls, but I think it's an underrated classic (in addition to its creators, Refraction Games, being some of the devs on BF 1942).

    Ever thought of doing the Metroid Prime 1+2? I'm guessing you probably don't have a Gamecube, but the Dolphin Emulator seems to be pretty good at emulating Gamecube games. I'd also like to see you tackle Wii FPSes, although that may be unlikely.
