Substitute for (say) Shellac: acrylic glass splinters dissolved in thinner to make a useful varnish

- Please read the description first. A good way (test it) to substitute Shellac and/or make a usable varnish to be used in many applications (it gives an acrylic layer), say in electronic experiments or otherwise.
Could be a varnished piece of soft wood, brass nails punched into it, to make & develop electronic circuits in that way. Like I always do, when you have followed my YT Channel.
This home made laquer (cheap) can protect wood (or whatever) from moisture.
Be aware that it can also dissolve (other) plastics, say plastics or surfaces made out of plastic that must NOT be dissolved or damaged by this type of laquer….(& the thinner).
Thus, please, note: it is a hobby substance and a not professional application of this type of laquer/varnish. Can/could be too agressive (…. disclaimer).
Please note: the original Shellac is a not (!) agressive substance/fluid, compared to the varnish made in this video.
Everything is told in the video, so now no need for elaboration. You can also use it as glue for acrylic glass.
Shake the jar regular, every day, or every hour, till everything is dissolved and you have your acrylic varnish. Could take some time, anyway. It is worth it.
My You Tube channel trailer is here: • Radiofun232 on UA-cam (updated monthly)
When you search, search always “NEWEST FIRST” to get the right overview. You can also search via the “looking glass” on my Channel trailer via keywords like ”audio”, “radio”, “amplifier”, “filter”, “Shortwave”, “transistor”, “FET”, “oscillator”, “generator”, “switch”, “schmitt trigger” etc; so the electronic subject you are interested in.
My books about electronics & analog radio technology are available via the website of "LULU”, search for author “Ko Tilman” there. www.lulu.com/s.... I keep all my YT videos constant actual, so the original video’s with the most recent information are always on UA-cam.
Search there, and avoid my circuits that are republished, re-arranged, re-edited on other websites, giving not probable re-wiring, etc. Some persons try to find gold via my circuits. I take distance from all these fake claims. I cannot help that these things happen. Upload 10 August 2024.
It's a good idea, almost like making the wood into a form of bakerlite. I have seen people using glass and copper foil to make circuits and they look pleasing to the eye. Thumbs 👍
Thinking outside the normal. Love the idea!
Hey radiofun232! Longtime fan, I am sorry you are having to deal with fakes and plagiarists. Don't worry, we know you're the original
Thanks, good to hear that! I am not aware of all these fakes and plagiarists, because I cannot find them or don't know how to find them. So what you say is very valuable to me. Also good to hear that you know the originals (!). 10 Aug. 2024.
Interesting idea 🤔
Thanks Barry. The laquer layer is somewhat thin, but anyway it works.
