    I have something similar on right now, but it's dip powder instead of gel. I like it because it protects my nails and doesn't chip. Even the regular polish I put on it stays intact.

    Hi Devin 👋🏾👋🏾👋🏾👋🏾👋🏾👋🏾I always stamp over gel but you answered a question for me( why does the stamped image on the edge always chip even with top coat). Your tip on using acetone on the edge of the nail is going to be so very helpful to my nail game. I’m gonna try these gel tips. Thank u❤️

    This was really useful! I didn't know about that free edge tip. I stamp over gel polish for 90% of my manicures. I use method 1 or method 3 that you showed. Sometimes I don't have to wipe away the inhibition layer before stamping, depending on the gel brand. And I typically use a peely base coat under the gel foundation because I only want the manicure to last for a few days before I change it up. This makes removal so much easier. I've been lucky so far with mixing up brands since I only have two brands of foundation and top coat, but I'm going to keep in mind the possibility of non-compatibility. Thank you for taking the time to make this!

      I asked about stamping directly on the inhibition layer. Maniology said it won’t stick to the inhibition later because it’s really sticky. I thought it might stick better because it’s sticky. What brands do you use that will allow stamping on the inhibition later?

    • @christyburton75
      @christyburton75 2 роки тому

      @@nailartShookme I have a couple large sets of Beetles gel polish and I know those work with no removal first. Same may be true of random brands I've found on Amazon, I'd have to go back and check. Sometimes the layer is more oily than sticky, it's like that with my OPI and Sally Hansen gels and if I try to stamp without wiping, the whole stamp just slides off. 😂 I will often just wipe with a clean paper towel or Kleenex instead of using alcohol to prep if I run across that. You just don't want that oily sticky surface. A "dryer sticky" isn't a hindrance, I've found.

    Hi Maniology team! Thanks for the video, this is really helpful! I appreciate Devon making the explanation as easy to understand as possible. However, I would also love to hear the "longer" explanation as to why gel top coat won't smudge the stamped images, if that's ok 😅

    Can you stamp without having to wipe off the inhibition layer first?

    • @Maniology
      @Maniology  2 роки тому +1

      The inhibition layer is very sticky and the regular polish will not stick to the inhibition layer surface with your stamped design. So it's gotta come off or you can do method #2 or #3 that Devon mentioned :)

    Are you using regular polish to stamp?

    • @Maniology
      @Maniology  Рік тому

      Hi Krhisna, stamping polish will work best as they are formulated for such a purpose. However, regular polishes might sometimes work too depending on the formula and opacity. Try with polishes you own that are opaque in 1 coat and they should work. :)

    You really should stop showing yourself wiping the gel inhibition layer with your finger. At the very least you should also show you wiping it off your finger and not letting it sit there. It's not a safe thing to do.

    Great video but a North Korean brand? Why? Really…. North Korean?

    • @yasminarose1
      @yasminarose1 2 роки тому +6

      Fiote is a South Korean brand. SK brands are highly pigmented with a more butter type consistency. Hard to find that quality in other brands. 😊
