Worldwide; nice review. It will be interesting to see how it holds up after time. I gone through many boards over the decades; my current board (and my all time favorite) is the Blade 5 Dual Core. Just seems to last longer for me with fewer bounce-outs.
My first dartboard was a Eclipse HD 2, but it didn't hold very well. The bullseye was very bumpy straight out of the box and after two years the wiring started coming out of the board. I bought a Blade 5 DC afterwards and been happy ever since. So, no Unicorn board for my anymore
Fantastic board my one is holding up really well and that’s with me using grippier points , the numbers on my one are metal so have no problem with snapping the numbers.
I bought the Eclipse pro 2 for Christmas and really happy so far with it. Might’ve hit the metal numbers a few times too many for my liking lol 😂. Awesome content as usual brother!
Full week with the HD2 pro (one with the metal numbers). Sofar nothing bad to say. Board is softer than bulls 5.01 but not too soft. And wery quiet. If i had to pick one thing. The bull ring is bit thick, and if hit brobably a bounceout, but the bull it self is fare size.
Yeah, horrible idea making the numbers out of plastic. A bit crazy when you think about it. That idea had to make it through a Unicorn meeting of all the upper executives. They all had to agree on the plastic number ring thing. Maybe they were afraid to tell their boss that the idea sucks 😂
As I said previously I didn’t have a good experience on my last unicorn board and since always had Winmau boards but it seems Unicorn have improved and will be interesting to see how this board holds up. Great stuff WWD 👍🏻
Nice board! Very bright colors and I can't see any paint splatter into neighboring segments. The spider looks great, but I did see that spot in the 12 fairly easily. I can't see the wave in the 20 though. I'm curious to see how well it does over the next several months.
I had bought the pro edition a few months ago, I had the board for 4 months and the spider has almost come off. The sisal looks like it has pushed back. So personally not a fan of unicorn boards. Haha
Hey WWD I have a Unicorn Eclipse HD2 Pro and its holding up really well, allthough in the beginning i used sharp grip points wich ruined the sizal but if you use a bald clean black point im sure it will last VERY long! Even if you rotate it after you are done practicing or playing a match! I rotate it once a week or once after im done practicing and playing against people. i love the board and will buy a new one again! ( again a Pro )
@@WorldwideDarts I'm extremely interested in the review your doing on this board. 👍 As you said nothing but bad things being said about them really. Nice to get a honest review.
I had that pro version of that board with metal numbers and it was bad those are welded on that ring and when missed double and hitted number it broke off so after awhile I had to replace that outer ring with my old one
Winmau blade five dual core for the win, I predict less than three months before it is new board time. Maybe that can be your next giveaway, closest to the throw away date gets your “Old” dual core signed by worldwide.

I can see with the naked eye that the D5 segment on this board is significantly wider than the D20 segment. I would estimate that if you take the diagonal measurement, that's 3 to 5 mm. What I really hate about Unicorn Boards is that at TV tournaments you can often see in the D20 segment that the lower wire is not bent at all, but simply straight. That makes the segment a lot bigger. Presumably this occurs in all segments, but it is most noticeable with the D20 segment because it is horizontal.
I just measured the best I could and it was surprisingly close but keep in mind that the wire that divides the 20 and 1 segment is bent inwards so it evens things up. 20 segment was 42.5mm at the wave and the 5 segment was 41.7mm
@@WorldwideDarts I think that the wave causes real problems further out. I meant that the diagonal dimension (usually about 50 mm) of the D5 segment seems to be significantly larger than that of the D20 segment. And I've already considered that different colors can lead to optical illusions ...
@@therandompostman8988 I'm really not worried about it at all. I'm VERY gentle on every board I've ever used. People are saying this board will fall apart in 3 months. Simply isn't going to happen. Just watch... this board will still be in amazing condition by July.
I had a eclipse 2 hd. now I have a blade 5 dc. 1st thing noticed, size of the eclipse is bigger. now my suround kind of hangs loose around the board 😉 2nd thing, blade 5 is a lot louder. makes a completly different sound. (thought this might be because of the dual core?) I like both boards sofar. one is hanging in the kitchen (B5), the other in my classroom 😁. pupils love it. keep me updated, I am curious to find out what you think of the Eclipse 2 hd. btw you can order the metal number ring for little money. well worth it. i broke like 10 numbers and others were flying around when hitting them. CU
@@winfield347 no, its a non branded surround. the blade 5 really is a little smaller in comparison. obviously the playing field is identical. but the black outer rind seems to be a little smaller.
That's a spectacular waste of money. The board should just come with a metal number ring like all other boards have since the start of time. Absolutely shoddy from Unicorn.
@@crooty9 i agree totally with you mate. I bought a hd2 board last year and them plastic numbers are rubbish and likewise i had a couple of segments where the wire was bent and quite a bumpy sisel too was just looked even worse when i added a led ring light, it just highlighted all the imperfections on the bought, the white/cream segments looked like the board was 10-15 yrs old 🤦🏼♂️... i went and bought a gladiator 3+
Hi i recently purchased a unicorn trainer board the numbers are metal the quality is second to none i would be interested on your opinion on trainer boards thank you
I'm not a fan of trainer boards at all and heard many negative things about them. Personally I think they're a gimmick but the bigger issue is they don't encourage someone to want to play more darts. Imagine this for a second. I have a great match and throw a 90+ average against the computer bot for a Matchday Monay video. That's going to get me excited and make me want to play more darts. Or i could hang up a trainer board and average 45 trying to hit the ridiculously small segments. That's going to get old REALLY quick. The theory behind it makes sense but in reality it doesn't work. Just because you throw at small segments doesn't mean you'll automatically be smashing larger segments when you switch back. To improve just the slightest bit at darts takes months and years.
