Love the fact that when you rotate the board it's not going to look odd with the logos in different angles (It does bother me especially if it's my board), but definitely going to be a good experience playing on it. The numbers shouldn't be a problem for darts enthusiasts as we already know where the segments are really unless they switch the numbers around then that would really be a problem. I think the board looks good, not as exciting looking as a traditional one with big colorful graphics but I think in the long run the changes will be more appreciated. Thanks for the review man!
Another great detailed review :) Number ring is awesome, it would probably get some time getting used to but I think it's one of those things you once get used to you don't know how you did without them. Not crazy about thousand logos and model names but really like how small the font is and how they don't poke in the eye. Definitely improvement over some fonts on boards out there. Would probably be the most happiest with two logos on top and down in that font and I'll survive the lack of symmetry.
Thanks mate! yeah I am already used to it, its become something I dont even think about now but to me it does feel like there is more focus on the scoring area so can only be a good thing in the end :)
The board is super Vivid very strong and color I like that I like also that when you rotate it it don't look weird but that number ring is awesome everything is even looks good and not upside down already can tell that's going to be my next board
The idea with the smaller numbers seems good to me, although it seems a bit strange used to the traditional system. Can be a nice training Board.... Thanks for this nice review Darren 👍👍👍🙂🙂
I like the overall clean look of the board, although I think the graphics need to pop a little more like on other HD boards currently on the market. The price seems right on given some of the minor imperfections you pointed out, but the real test will always be the boards durability over time. You commented on the quietness of the board, does it have adjustment wheels on the back to level the face of the board? Great review as usually, looking forward to the follow up, this item was one of my favorite items released, I’m glad you reviewed it 1st.
The idea is to make the logos less popping, as its meant to keep it subdued to keep focus on scoring area :) No wheels just standard stuff as shown in video but surprisingly they rubber feet seemed to be keeping the board very stable and flat, may be I just put them in right for once lol! Thanks! :)
I've never in my life thought about how the numbers on a normal board rotate with the segments, but now that I've seen this I realize how weird that is. This is way better, especially for novice players who don't know where the numbers are without looking. I'd have to say that I agree with some of the commenters that the numbers and logos could be a bit bigger. Not for clarity, though, just to make them look more visually even in size with the rest of the board. Tiny numbers next to big single and double segments feels off to me, but that just my subjective opinion.
Great review, you’re my favourite darts reviewer on UA-cam. I really like the look of this new Target board… the modern number ring and the logos are a great idea and they look great -I’m a “traditionalist” though and love old-style number rings, even though I know that this modern take on it makes more sense -figure that one out 😂
Thanks Jon, very kind of you to say so :) Yeah I think lots will still prefer to remain traditional, nothing wrong with that of course, its just a number ring after all, wont make me play any better lol :)
Another, unbiased informative review. Thanks Darren. Not keen on the look of this board tbh: looks cheap with the plastic number ring. Personally prefer older boards. I liked my Blade 4 & 5 but feel newer boards are too tightly compacted & darts don't go in as well. Have recently bought Nodor boards from the late 70s - 80s in really good condition: much prefer the colours, the simple graphics, the traditional number ring & the way the darts go in with a softer sound. I don't even mind the staples & the bounce outs 😉 x
Thanks Brian! :) The number ring is no real issue with me, its just an aesthetic thing more than anything, it looks neat but I would not be bothered if it was a normal ring. The board itself I have found does not heal holes well at all, but after playing with it for a while I have found I actually prefer throwing at it due to its firmness, sounds more pleasant to play on than the B6TCC and from the oche I dont notice the holes so much lol But like I often say the firmness of the board will have likes and dislikes, some prefer a soft board and others a hard board, the Aspar is probably leaning towards been too hard for most though but for me the B6TCC is too soft once its broken in. I have an old 1978 Winmau board that is fairly soft but still seems quieter than the new B6 so go figure :)
i really think this is a sexy dartboard . really love the ring i think i would buy one . try it if i dont like it i really keep the number ring for blade 6 that is going to come .
I like the graphics, how they are not intrusive and that they are symetrical. I also like the number ring, but I would like the numbers a bit bigger. I wish more companies would take on these ideas. As far as changes to a dart board goes, I see this as a giant leap forward. No other company doing symetrical logo's or always vertical number ring. Those are two big changes in one board. Great job Target on innovation. Not sure if it will hold up against a Winmau blade 5 DC, but we will see I guess.
I think Target read a lot of the feedback in forums and social media and many have mentioned about logos and how they hate when they are not the right way once you rotate, so this certainly solves that. Does look neater but I dont mind the numbers being small but I also dont care if they are bigger, could be less of a visual distraction overall though which I think is the purpose :) As for Winmau B5 DC I have my reservations on them now, they are great for a while and then go all lumpy, at least two I have had have done that.
@@DartsReviewChannel looking forward to see how this one wears, I will be buying a new board once I see how this one holds up. Thanks for the videos, you do a great job.
@@DartsReviewChannel I've noticed dat with mine but their d best available at the best price in Argos in Ireland what's d best board in ur opinion Darren
the number ring change has an unexpected issue. During a game of 'killer' where any section counts. The 'holes' in the 8, 6, 0 and 9 all count as a target. you dont get that with this monocot chassic number ring. The logos for me woudl also be more distracting having ten of them on the board than just 1 upside down.
I think the logo thing is something you'd get used to and not as distracting as when you rotate the older boards and the big logos have changed position.
I think £50 for a board is a bargain. I am not Unicorns biggest fan but if you pay around £90 for their board and get a year out of it, you are looking at 24p per day to play on it. I was very surprised when Target made this £50. I will be getting one. I hate turning my board for the first time so this kinda solves my OCD problem.
It is and boards are a lot more costly to make than darts I was told so they are sold cheaper than they should be anyway. I had a very long talk with the guy in charge at One80 darts a few years ago he said then that the real price of a board should be £80 to £100 but because of the battle with Winmau and Unicorn in previous years they kept competing on prices to win the market so the public take it as a given a board should be a set price. Its not that simple when you learn about it all.
Great review as usual Thank you for your reviews. I like the looks of this new Target board. The logos and number ring look great. But the wires in the spider look thicker than the Blade 5 board if I am not mistaken. what do you think?
@@DartsReviewChannel Thanks Darren good to know this looks like a great dartboard It will no dought be way over priced when it lands here in Canada. As the price to ship a dartboard to Canada from the UK is more often than not more than the price of the board. I know I was looking to get a Mission Samurai II a while back and they are reasonably priced boards around 30Q and it was going to cost me 45Q to ship it to Canada. so 75Q exchanged to Canadin $ 128.30 Just too much to pay for a dartboard. I think theses boards are closer to 70Q to buy in the first place.

Like I mention its impossible to know straight away but its the question that is the most important so will be doing an update after 20 hours but I am hoping people will also post their own feedback so we can get a wider idea of how it fares it different conditions etc :)
Like the graphics and the spider as it doesn’t protrude outside the spider like the eclipse hd2 but other than that the board looks sub standard close up compared to blade dual core
Great video! I know plenty of people who don't rotate their boards at all or only when they really have to because of the whole logo thing. This board is going to last a whole lot longer for a lot of people. It won't be long until Unicorn do something similar in response. I personally like the number ring, but it's not difficult to put an old one on instead. As for the 'killer' comment. We always used an old board for that sort of thing.
as mentioned in the video it was quite subdued sound but now its sounding a little more woody but could be my bracket coming loose again, I need to fix it better, screw/rawplug keeps coming out lol
Hi Darren, I really like a firm board. This one seems extremely firm. I had a one80 gladiator 3+ and that was lovely and firm but lots of glue left on the points even when hitting the middle of large sections does this board have an issue like that? Also the wires in some areas don't look completely straight which doesn't sit right with me. Any idea if target fixed that issue because if there's no glue all over the segments (not visable until you remove the dart and see the point is covered in glue) and the wires are nice and straight this might just be the board I'm looking for. Also are the treble segments ever so slightly bigger than the blade 6 boards?
It is a firm board, I think with boards though it's a bit of a lottery you either get a good one or you don't, I have seen plenty that look fine and some not so good. Segment size is around the same, not much difference if any.
@@DartsReviewChannel I think, it's the same with every board. Also, it is good to mention that there is difference between Blade 5 and Blade 5 Dual Core. Blade 5 have veins, Blade 5 Dual Core looks like monolithic whole. I would like to try also this Target Aspar board, but it would be an unnecessary investment. I have Blade 5 DC for 1,5 year and it's still in good condition (I play 2 - 3 hours per day on avg).
Question..... How does the Aspar compare to the previous Target board/ Winmau in terms of softness/hardness ? I remember Target boards used to be Hard!
Never tried a previous Target board so cant say. Think its about on par with the Winmau in firmness though, could be a touch softer. But what is soft to me could be hard to you, I know the G3 boards are very firm if that helps and its not as hard as them :)
I told others on here, just as I was leaving the room it landed on my head and just stayed there, my hands were full but as soon as dropped what I was carrying it got death slapped!
Daz intreasting question for you . When I rotate my board . We both love green . Right ok . My eye sight not best . But when I change it and use the 20 . In the buff and green . Trebles I hit more 180s why
The numbers and logos thing is a nice feature but nothing more than a gimmick. I've never heard a serious player complain about logos being upside down! What matters is that the board itself is quality and durable. Could you do a follow up video after a few weeks/months of use?
You need to read more social media then lol its something I have heard many complain about over the years that they hate the logos being upside down when rotated, never bothered me personally though, but thats why Target have done it they obviously read the feedback too. As mentioned in video I said it depends on how it wears etc so as I said in video I will not rotate it until I have done 20 hours on the board then I will do an update, after that will do normal rotation and update in further months. Think people should rotate it more regularly but I want to give it a proper test with normal use, but will do a more intensive test on one area as I cant play as much as some people do due to various aches and pains, not going to go crazy and use aggressive points though :) I think it helps if people post their feedback on here too, some play a lot of hours daily so they are likely to get more wear and useful feedback quicker than I will.
@@DartsReviewChannel that's probably exactly why I shouldn't read more social media lol! What will these people find for an excuse now Target have solved their problem! Keep up the good reviews. Definitely the number one darts reviewer on YT.
@@tomg3833 LOL! it can be a bit like the wild west out there in social media land, but people will always moan about something then it gets fixed to their liking then someone else will come and moan they dont like what was changed and it goes on and on lol Short answer is the old addage about not being able to please everyone but thats what makes things interesting I guess :) Cheers :)
What would really make that board great is targets own brand of rotor locks built in like blade 5s not them stupid unicorn ones what you screw in and I will be looking forward to the new unicorn board review and see if they improved unicorn boards because the hd2 has been bad since it came out but this board how you going to know the original treble 20 after a while of playing on it top review though mate
Rota locks are good but I find they can make the board sound louder as the impact is transferred to the wall through the plastic wheels, will hopefully be getting an Ultra next week though 🙂
@@jats44 I tried it on the Mission Samurai 2, it kind of fits but the brackets are a little tight so would need to loosen them to be able to squeeze it in right
Looks like it will wear quick, every target board I've played on has been awful, all so there's no rota lock, I rather stick to a good old winmau blade, I like the graphics on this board so it looks the same everytime you turn it, that's only good thing I can see, cheers for the review, can not wait until the video of this board on its wear and tear
I never used Targets before but my last two B5DC both broke out in lumps so not sure I will be getting another of those, G3+ is still great though and the Mission Samurai 2 is holding up well so far also. Will be updating on those two fairly soon :)
I dont think I have any Winmau boards at present, other than an old 1978 one but I tried it on a Mission Samurai 2 and it kind of fits but you need to loosen the brackets a little as its a tight squeeze.
I have a dart product idear that I think would become the top selling dart product not only that but help ppl improve there darts at the same time but don’t no where to start on getting a sample made
Is there anywhere els we can talk as I belive it’s a really good idear and would rather not say in comments as I belive others might steal it it’s that good lol
At first u could make a patent of the idea so no one can steel it. After that u could contact Brands and try to sell them your idea or you could look for a manufacturer that makes u a prototype of your own Board.
The number ring is horrible imo. I prefer the traditional number ring simply because I usually sand it down and custom spraypaint it. I own a gold one, a black one with gold numbers, a metallic blue one, a metallic bright red one, a neon yellow and a neon green one and am always looking forward to test another colour whenever I buy a new board. Can´t see myself getting used to this plastic/nylon one anytime soon. Qualitywise the new Target board doesn´t convince me, seems like a newer version of the Tour Pro. My top 3 still is 1) Shot Bandit Duro, 2) Mission Samurai II and 3) One80 Gladiator 3+. The Tour Pro disappointed in terms of durability and I guess it will be no different with this one from Target.
@@DartsReviewChannel Before I had the luck to find a Bandit Duro Anniversary Edition with gold wiring and number ring, I would have agreed about possible distractions, but it isn´t really that much of a focus breaker once you get used to it. I´m usually much more distracted by the more fancy surrounds than brightly coloured number rings...worst example might be the Snakebite surround that got me so uncomfy my average dropped significantly and the neon green coloured Dartsturm surround that turned out to be so ugly my eyes wanted to puke on every single throw. ;) Aaaand I can´t fend off the suspicion that you´d be the very first one to get it if there was a nicely coloured green number ring available, Darren... ;)
@@chrisf1604 I have the One80 gold board, it never went into retail it glints in the light which was one of the reasons they never sold it. Fancy surrounds can be distracting too I agree :) I was thinking a green number ring may look good though lol :)
Cant really say as I think this is my first. Got a Target Pro Tour years ago and never got round to using it and sent that to a friend in Canada, cost more to send it than the board was to buy!

Horrible board. I have a blade 6 single core. Although, a lot softer than the Aspar. The quality of the Blade 6 is 10x better. I bought an Aspar. Out of the box. Love this board... It's great if you have OCD!!!!
Might just be me but the trebles and doubles on this board look a little smaller compared to other pro dartboards.
did you check the dimension pics?
@@DartsReviewChannel yeah. Looks like they are smaller.
@@somethingsomethinggr looks or they are?
Expert fly flicking, great review too
The fly flew, cheers! :)
It looks interesting, but I still think, that Blade 5 Dual Core is the best choice. I will probably try Gladiator III+ on Christmas.
B5 is great if you get one that lasts well, both mine went lumpy🙂
@@DartsReviewChannel I think, it's the same with every board. Also, it is good to mention that there is difference between Blade 5 and Blade 5 Dual Core. Blade 5 have veins, Blade 5 Dual Core looks like monolithic whole. I would like to try also this Target Aspar board, but it would be an unnecessary investment. I have Blade 5 DC for 1,5 year and it's still in good condition (I play 2 - 3 hours per day on avg).
@@martindzik3850 yeah I meant b5dc, both mine went lumpy but maybe just unlucky
Question..... How does the Aspar compare to the previous Target board/ Winmau in terms of softness/hardness ? I remember Target boards used to be Hard!
Never tried a previous Target board so cant say. Think its about on par with the Winmau in firmness though, could be a touch softer. But what is soft to me could be hard to you, I know the G3 boards are very firm if that helps and its not as hard as them :)
That fly flick was hilarious haha
I told others on here, just as I was leaving the room it landed on my head and just stayed there, my hands were full but as soon as dropped what I was carrying it got death slapped!

@@stevenhudson7929 Hi Power!
Daz intreasting question for you . When I rotate my board . We both love green . Right ok . My eye sight not best . But when I change it and use the 20 . In the buff and green . Trebles I hit more 180s why
LOL not sure anything will help me even though I do like the green lol
You should try it like@@DartsReviewChannel
I wonder if target will use this dart board at the world seniors and thats why they brought out this board
I know they are using it in some comp, can't remember if it's the seniors but very likely 🙂
Think people should rotate it more regularly but I want to give it a proper test with normal use, but will do a more intensive test on one area as I cant play as much as some people do due to various aches and pains, not going to go crazy and use aggressive points though :)
I think it helps if people post their feedback on here too, some play a lot of hours daily so they are likely to get more wear and useful feedback quicker than I will.
Lovely board darren nice bright colors 🎯👍☘
yeah it does look nice
What would really make that board great is targets own brand of rotor locks built in like blade 5s not them stupid unicorn ones what you screw in and I will be looking forward to the new unicorn board review and see if they improved unicorn boards because the hd2 has been bad since it came out but this board how you going to know the original treble 20 after a while of playing on it top review though mate
Rota locks are good but I find they can make the board sound louder as the impact is transferred to the wall through the plastic wheels, will hopefully be getting an Ultra next week though 🙂
You could make a mark with a pen for example on the back of the board so u Always know where the original 20 was
Never knew you liked green. Not a clue. Nadda. I'm so surprised. Shocked.!!! 😉
I never mentioned it before that's why you didn't know 😜
can you buy the number ring by itself for any other board?
Yeah you can
Not sure, never seen it in shops but should be able to use it on another board I imagine, will have to try it and see.
@@bigmushypealad8530 where can you find it?
@@DartsReviewChannel let me know, I’d love to buy it

Thanks, Matey
Nice board that
Green box???Realy????Manufacturers must be watching your video's as well mate 🤣🤣 Nice that the numbers stay rightup, neat feature.
Of they have learned green is the best from me😁😜
Looks like it will wear quick, every target board I've played on has been awful, all so there's no rota lock, I rather stick to a good old winmau blade, I like the graphics on this board so it looks the same everytime you turn it, that's only good thing I can see, cheers for the review, can not wait until the video of this board on its wear and tear
I never used Targets before but my last two B5DC both broke out in lumps so not sure I will be getting another of those, G3+ is still great though and the Mission Samurai 2 is holding up well so far also. Will be updating on those two fairly soon :)
@@DartsReviewChannel what's your thoughts about the shot bandit?
@@popeye5989 think I already reviewed that, was a good board but spider not strong enough so broke
@@DartsReviewChannelcheers will have a look-although should problem have done that before asking the question🤣
Does the number ring fit on a blade 5?
I dont think I have any Winmau boards at present, other than an old 1978 one but I tried it on a Mission Samurai 2 and it kind of fits but you need to loosen the brackets a little as its a tight squeeze.
For the money now Daz it's not bad mate
Those G8 Taylor..😍😍😍😍
:)
I do like the look of it Darren

I have a dart product idear that I think would become the top selling dart product not only that but help ppl improve there darts at the same time but don’t no where to start on getting a sample made
may depend on what it is exactly
Is there anywhere els we can talk as I belive it’s a really good idear and would rather not say in comments as I belive others might steal it it’s that good lol
@@leighrough lol there is only my social media links on UA-cam about tab
At first u could make a patent of the idea so no one can steel it. After that u could contact Brands and try to sell them your idea or you could look for a manufacturer that makes u a prototype of your own Board.
I could get used to it
The number ring is horrible imo.
Lol like I said some people won't like it but not sure I would want some thing brightly coloured either, think that would be distracting 😊
@@DartsReviewChannel Before I had the luck to find a Bandit Duro Anniversary Edition with gold wiring and number ring, I would have agreed about possible distractions, but it isn´t really that much of a focus breaker once you get used to it. I´m usually much more distracted by the more fancy surrounds than brightly coloured number rings...worst example might be the Snakebite surround that got me so uncomfy my average dropped significantly and the neon green coloured Dartsturm surround that turned out to be so ugly my eyes wanted to puke on every single throw. ;)
Aaaand I can´t fend off the suspicion that you´d be the very first one to get it if there was a nicely coloured green number ring available, Darren... ;)
@@chrisf1604 I have the One80 gold board, it never went into retail it glints in the light which was one of the reasons they never sold it. Fancy surrounds can be distracting too I agree :) I was thinking a green number ring may look good though lol :)

Mine was terrible. Imperfections all over and bounce outs galore... Like throwing at concrete! Garbage!
This is nothing like the one they use in the seniors!! Quality is night and day
All the Target boards i've played on previously have been dreadful
Cant really say as I think this is my first. Got a Target Pro Tour years ago and never got round to using it and sent that to a friend in Canada, cost more to send it than the board was to buy!

Numbers on ring are toooo small
Do you need big numbers, my eyesight is terrible and I can see it ok from oche?
@@DartsReviewChannel its my opinion... I would like to have bigger ones, it could be more clear and.. ergonomic... I play sometimes with my brother in law, he has veeeeery small exp in darts and for him sometimes to see very fast the number is problem, so thats why i mentioned it...
Yeah like I said in video some won't like it but can see what you mean.
Awful number ring
lol you are the person I mention that wont like it then :)
Horrible board. I have a blade 6 single core. Although, a lot softer than the Aspar. The quality of the Blade 6 is 10x better. I bought an Aspar. Out of the box. There is color bleeding, missing sisal, and bent wires. How did my board pass quality control??? Not to mention the horrible self healing, if there is any...
Should have returned it really
Honestly nothing really special, not a lot of new things.
It’s a dartboard, how many new things can there be?
Not really just number ring and graphics, not sure what else but we cant see inside it to tell :)
