I have an older, different type of dart board. I was originally going to just throw it away after the wear & bullseye missing but this gave me the confidence to try to restore it. ♥

Nice, I refurbished the black on one board a few weeks ago with a black sharpie. Looks sharp from the Oche

What I have done is gotten an old aluminum can and cut the shape of each section out then press it really hard against the board to compact the top layer of the sisal down worked wonders for me removing the bumpy uneven top layer, also you should try the darker orange sharpie marker it has a better colour match on the red as its less saturated

Nice quick and efficient repair job. I would have avoided using those points right away if I had noticed the sisal pulling out. No reason to destroy a dartboard with aggressive points. Cannot wait to see the new Mission Samurai II dartboard review.

Besides board rotation I won't make anything else to prolong the life of my dartboards. I have the G3+ and also the B6DC, so I won't have to buy a new one for quite some time. Those Beau Greaves in gold are just a thing of beauty, one80 still remains the most underrated company out there

I can't think of any bullseye that holds up all that well. If you walk into any American pub/bar where they play league all the boards will look in decent condition but the bullseyes will be trashed. It's from all the cricket we play. Maybe a firmer board would hold up okay. Something like a One80 G3 or the Target Aspar.

Not sure if it 'actually' helps to reduce the frequency of needing to repair, but I never grab all darts out of the board at the same time with one hand, even if grouped well - it just feels wrong to me, like you're going to twist some fibres up on the way out.

Nice vid! How can we whiten the whites?😅 my aspar came today, it looks absolutly flawless but, the whites not 100% white! It seem, the board already got little light brown mold dots an stains all over the board! As i said, other than that, it is build perfectly, would like to keep it!
    What would you do?
    Could white document ink work?

    • @WorldwideDarts

Hmmm, good question. I really don't know as I've never messed around with the white segments. I suppose a white marker would work. You'll have to be the first one to test it out and report back. Maybe test on an old board first though 😁

With clothes that have this problem, simply shaving with a razor works. I would think that it would work better than fingernail clippers to get the sisal strands cut right at the surface. I recently took up darts after a 30+ year layoff and sprung for a triple core Winmau board, so I hope I don’t have to report the results anytime soon.
By the way, any dart that has points that destroy your dartboard would get a flat rejection without further testing from me. Sure, you could repoint them, but there are too many great darts out on the market to deal with this!

    because it DESTROYS, ,
TWIST & PULLS the SISAL SURFACE OF THE
    DART BOARD. 👍🏼👍🏼
