Speaking of the gym - Having worked construction, definitely recommend the following exercises which have translate to strength on the jobsite: - zercher Carries - farmer walks (dumbell or barbell) - HeavyBag Carries - deadlifts (but slowly lower the barbell down, don’t slam it, because In the real world u can’t slam heavy equipment lol) If ur in an area with woods or on a camping trail - carry some hevay rocks or logs - it’s fun I’m not a huge fan of the gym because many exercises just build “show muscle” which doesn’t carryover to the real world, but I do train with barbells and dumbells to build functional strength.
