Yes, getting ridiculous! 4 light bars, 2 front winches, huge sound system(who uses one of them, let alone 2 in the bush??) and a freakin TV. Whoops, forgot about the light show inside the canopy! C'mon guys! I know you have sponsors but there is a line and you've crossed it. It's becoming corny.

I'm American and it's out of reach for us. These new utes/trucks are built the same way as older utes. The new ones has a million sensors and the replacement/repairs are very difficult and expensive.
Out of the box suspension is mint, just people don't understand spool valves here yet and how to tune them. My zr2 feels like driving over a cloud on corrugations
just curious in regard to all the added weight , appreciate you have tried to use aluminium for most but all the fitout components are heavy and the ZR2 only has 700KG payload so by the time you filled up the Bigger fuel tank , fresh water tanks and supplies to actually do long range mission you would not be able to Carry any Passengers < Is there a reason you didn't opt for the 2500 that would have been more practical with capacity ? DOES look Bloody Good however

They're engineered for American reality, not Mad Max land. Their range is towing a machine to a construction site to being an unnecessary daily driver.
What happen to the good old days and keeping things simple.... Plus that Bullbar looks like its hanging a bit too low. Be interesting to see how it performs and what issues pop up (if they are revealed)
I have been waiting for y'all to come around, and see how an American truck does in Australia. I'm looking forward to seeing y'all's adventures with this truck.
I absolutely love Jase and Simon and ALL 4, however these builds are getting more and more into the upper 1% class. Not many can afford $250K plus for a 4WD tourer. Sure it is great, but of all your viewers, I bet only 1% could afford these builds, or they are young, overpaid FIFO DINKs. I do love the snorkels, and the bar and wrap are outstanding. Jase next year PLEASE do an ISUZU 155/75 NPS dual cab, as these are getting MASSIVELY popular over last 2-3 years.....
Now that I have seen this video, I understand the amazing performance this pickup has due to all the bells and whistles that you have installed on your pickup, best regards from Ecuador
Not sure who supplied the information but the engine is a variant of the LT2 motor known as L87 and the transmission is a Chevrolet 10L80 which was a collaboration with Ford, not an Allison
If you didn't have all the sponsors, how much would a rig like that run ya? 250,000? 300,000? Would be nice to see a comparison between this and the F250 build. Maybe you could do a video comparing the two and tell us which you like better after you do a season of touring on it.
This will be an outback weapon ..👍thanks for the chat at the Sydney 4x4 show on Saturday Clearview stand ('old mate' with 80 series and intercooler that wouldn't quite fit 15mm). Looking forward to the new series next year.
Wow, what an awsome 400K truck, wont be seeing many of those on the tracks. Need a Harrop blower to give it some more grunt to go with that Chevy V8 growl. Would make for a totally awsome raffle (or one like it) for kids charity. I'll be sticking with my 78 though, that's about as high tech as I'm willing to go for remote traveling, without the multivehicle backup and budget these utubers have.
I Like the choice of the ZR2, probably the only American ute I’d consider. Looks really cool, without being over the top, and the engine isn’t some ridiculous supercharged mess
If I was an 11yo who was subscribed to every 4WD channel on youtube and I found a winning lotto ticket on the street, this is exactly the setup I'd have.

I see from a few of the comments a bit of negative feed back. Beaning of age there was negative stuff when Toyota hit the market back in the day, would you bag a Landcruiser now? Always enjoy your adventures guys, keep up the interesting content. PS yes I would love that truck as most would what a weapon.
Are you joking? A huge amount of people still get landcruisers shit and always will. True alot of it is out of jealousy but still. If you looked in to the yank Ute's they really are not Ute's but over sized wagons when it comes to carrying capability. And reliability ehh.....please.
What aftermarket fuel tank did you install on your truck? Here in the states, its been a pain to find a bigger fuel tank solution for the 6.2l V8. 26 gallons is not big enough for these trucks.
???..most u.s. trucks pull 4.5t minimum.. i have a s.duty, 02, , 4.2tdi, mwm sprint. pulls 4t no probs. has 700nm..NO COMPUTER, more than your bs 79 series v8 tdi rubbish.. ausie..
@harrywalker968 he said GVM champ. Which on most USA ute are absolutely trash. If you were to tow 4.5t you could only have 68kgs of payload and yes the driver and fuel is included in the GVM. Not to mention the God awful payloads these Ute's have. He 100% over his GVM like most Yank Ute's.
Can we have a look at the under side, before you get any mud on it? 😂 Yes, I've seen the aftermath of the roll over. Bad luck, hope you can build another truck and show us some of the awesome country we have here in Australia. All the best fellas.
You absolutely MUST get a Dynamic Fuel Management disable on this engine! The lifters commonly fail when DFM is active. Disable it and you will be golden.
I just looked it up and the standard GVM is only 3300kgs but it weighs 2500kgs, leaving only 750kgs payload! A 1980 hilux can carry more...these are really just giant SUVs in a way
Yup my missus 1996 gen 3 surf has 750kg payload. All yank Ute's suffer from this huge over site. At 4.5t towing this ute only has a payload of 68kgs* and people and fuel weight is included in that. So a very light person could sit in the ute ut wouldn't be allowed to have any fuel lool
Do you get the Diesel version in Australia as well? I am US based and was just wondering if your snorkel guy could do a snorkel for the diesel versions in America.
