The Love Of Trinidad Moruga Scorpion Pepper

- My love for hot peppers began at a young age. I may have been about six or seven years. After trying different varieties, I discovered the rarest and hottest naturally occurring pepper on the planet, the Trinidad Moruga Scorpion pepper. My love for hot peppers is a part of my identity and I continued to explore the cultural significance of hot peppers in my root-land, Trinidad and Tobago. Today I share my passion with others and still enjoy the scotch bonnet pepper, the one that started it all.
This is an awesome video!, trinidad and tobago has by far some of the most awesome peppers around, its interesting that some varieties are still being known to the world from there, i recently been interested specifically in the seven pod peppers from there, it is very true that it should be a great part of historic pride, the ancestors left us their work and varieties and now we gotta keep the gift alive and spicy haha
I totally agree!
As a Scotsman who resides in Spain I had no idea how little hot spice is used here. I resorted to growing my own peppers 2 years ago and it's been so successful and exciting. This year I've got a couple of healthy Trinidads for the first time and I can't wait for the results.
Hello Spain Insider
It's fascinating to hear about your journey from Scotland to Spain and your exploration into the world of hot spices! It's true that spicy levels can vary greatly from one cuisine to another. You've found a great solution to bring some heat to your meals. I love the stuff myself.
Growing your own peppers is indeed an exciting venture. Congratulations on your success! The Trinidad Moruga Scorpion peppers, I'm sure, will be a thrilling addition to your homegrown collection. They are known for their intense heat and unique flavor.
Remember to take care of them, give them plenty of sunlight, and don't overwater. You're in for a real treat when they mature. Please keep us updated on your progress. Happy growing! 🌶️🌞 -d
I love moruga scorpion pepper. I also like the scotch bonnet pepper or "Congo" locally named in Trinidad. Unfortunately in the UK you can't always find that original, flavourful scotch bonnet anymore. Most scotch bonnet peppers in the UK are sourced from Spain, Dorset UK, or Morocco. These peppers don't have the same original flavour. I need to get some original scotch bonnet pepper seeds from Trinidad or Jamaica, or even Ghana.
The trinidad moruga scorpion was the first pepper that I absolutely fell in love with! I had it in a homemade hot sauce while visiting some friends in San Diego! I ended up acquiring 10 bottles to bring home with me to Montana and I literally put it on everything. Since, this pepper and or any exotic peppers are impossible to find in Montana. I ended up buying 4 grow tents to grow my own peppers this year. As these delicious flavor blasters I can’t imagine living with out!
I love your videos and am looking forward to the videos of tips and tricks to growing these peppers!
Brychan DeMoney Gross, thank you for sharing your Trinidad Moruga Scorpion love story with us! It's amazing to hear how a single pepper experience in San Diego led to such dedication in growing your own peppers back in Montana. Kudos to you for taking the initiative to grow them yourself, especially in a region where exotic peppers might be harder to come by. I am delighted that you enjoy my videos, and I'll definitely continue to create content to encourage fellow pepper enthusiasts like you. Stay tuned for some tips, tricks, and advice on growing Trinidad Moruga Scorpion peppers and other exotic varieties. Don't hesitate to share your progress, ask questions, or suggest topics you'd like me to cover. We're all in this together, learning and growing. Happy growing, and enjoy those flavor blasters! -d
Great video, keeps you wanting more, just like the pepper!
Hahaha. Thank you! -d
Your video gives honor to your root-land Trinidad and Tobago, its famous Trinidad Moruga Scorpion peppers and explains your love for hot peppers, it is in your blood! 😍👍👏👌
I always say that my mother didn't stop eating hot peppers during the time she was pregnant with me or my siblings. I believe the capsaicin was in the milk and certainly in my DNA. Thanks for the comment!
I am a new found lover of this plant. I also want to say, thank you for offering these seeds and please do more videos. I could listen to you talk all day!
Absolutely fantastic videos Sir.
The Trinidad Moruga Scorpion was my very first pepper I ever grew and now I'm growing hundreds of varieties!
Would love to add your strain of Moruga Scorpion to my next grow!

Thank you for your kind words about my videos. I'm thrilled to hear that you've developed a passion for growing peppers. I don't know how you can handle so many varieties. I have enough of a time working with one. Starting with Trinidad Moruga Scorpion is like beginning school life from the Phd level. It's a fantastic pepper to grow and one of my personal favorites. Those beautiful pods look absolutely deadly!!! Are the plants highly productive?
They may look deadly, but I can assure you that they are also delicious and packed with flavor. Most of the pepper plants I grow are quite productive, and I make sure to provide them with good growing conditions and care to be sure that they thrive. Thanks again for your comment, and don't hesitate to reach out if you have any further questions. -d
@@spicytropics Most of what I've grown ranges from a cayenne to a scotch bonnet. Hope to someday find and grow this hotter variety. If for nothing else, to look at those beautiful pods. You've done an awesome job with yours!
Lovely
Gracias to you too!
My love for chili and capsaicin started with the Trinidad Moruga Scirpion. A local bussiness called Skånsk Chili started selling their own Scorpion hot sauce without vinager and I absolutely fell in love with it. The sweet but spicy flavor showed me a whole new world. Chili sauce does not have to taste like spicy vinager, it can taste like chili!
Since that moment I got hooked on chili. Last year I grew carolina reapers that my mom bought me as a smal plant. This year I will grow yellow scorpion from seed and I'm super excited! I will probably plant them in a week or two
How is the scorpion pepper growing coming along?
Love the video! Thanks for sharing!
Love story telling. Thanks for the comment! -d
What a delightful ode to the Moruga Scorpion Peppers.
The Moruga Scorpion is truly a God send. Every once in a while I would go overboard and put too much on my food then regret it. The trick is getting the right balance between heat and sabor. I find it best to add too little at first, then more if needed. Thanks for the comment! -d
@@spicytropics No truer words were ever spoken. Moderation is key for sure.
I'm on my own journey of enjoying hot peppers. This year's are mostly in the habanero class, it will take a lot of sampling to enjoy your favourite pepper. Great video.
Mikko's Garden, thank you for sharing your own pepper journey with us! Habaneros are a great choice for anyone exploring the world of hot peppers. As you continue your sampling, your taste buds will become more attuned to the subtle differences in flavor and heat levels, helping you discover your favorites.

Great video 👍
Looking forward to trying this variety from my homeland as well.
Thanks for the love! -d
Can't wait to try the almighty Moruga 🔥🔥🔥
You'll love it for sure. -d
máster; I would like to know if you use any special fertilizer to improve the flavor of your peppers. Saludos desde Jaén !
Andres, I use a liquid fish fertilizer for my seedlings to develop good roots. But for flavor, a balance between temperature, humidity, light and soil. Moruga Trinidad is humid and warm and tends to be partly cloudy and around 30 degrees. I try to create the same environment. -d
@@spicytropics many thanks :-)
