My goal is to read the story from the game. story in this game is super good and fun to read so I don't need a best grid to read story I just need a basic of magna1 weapon grid. I was once in a seed guild before it was super stressful in the morning we will get a wake up call in the messenger chat group to farm at least 2m at 5am(in my time zone gw start at 5am-10pm). after staying in this guild for a few gw events I was burnt out so I quit and create my own guild full of people that enjoy the game as it is and not a very competitive guild(tier B). the game feel much better and I dont have to stress myself over guild ranking and score. My point is find your own pace and place. find the guild that suit your playstyle.
Ah... how true, totally agree. That's why I insist staying in Tier B crew. Guild War is too much for me, and for events, once I hit the maximum honor or clear the reward list, I stop.
I was also in a guild that our danchou demanded reports of our honors every single day, we all had to achieve a minimum quota or we would be kicked out. Three of us got tired and created our own crew. We were a slack off crew for a long time, until more people started joining and wanted to do well in the gw, but my friends knew that I don't play much, so they never demanded anything from me. I feel bad that even newbies do better than me in the war, but everyone is understanding and they have all become my good friends from all over the world (we have people from about 7 different countries or more)!
I'd like to see updated guides for 2019 since GBF has updated so much. I know your old guides still work but maybe make like a version 2 or part 2 of your guides from 2016? A "how to build a team" guide would be great too.
hello Koon-senpai. I'm rank 166, a uni student, and I'm currently at 260 draws waiting for spark soon! I agree on the three concepts, but i wanna suggest a thing for the ones who just can't deal with the amount set the basic raids you want to do every day and then set the raid schedule after the basic one. The second schedule is for any target weapons they want so for example, after doing the normal omega raids, I can make a raid order of apollo, chev, odin, chev impossible, and metatron for the chances of getting lumi swords or I can do a simple schedule of Tiamat impossible and grimnir raid in that order to get wind harps for a short one. currently, im vying for anubis axe uncap so i need tons of animas, so i do my omega raids and then head straight to anubis. afterwards, when i have time, i just join anubis raids whenever i want. so yeah, busy days will have that while free days will let me think of weapons to grind like revenant weapons, class weapons, and others....
Actually - this guide touches a lot on the mentality of gacha games. Can be very useful for other games as well. Almost burnt myself out on playing SINoAlice recently and hearing some of the things you said here put my mind at ease. Especially the part where we have to distinguish what we want and what we need. You deserve my subscription.
Am I only one, that clears events in the first 2-3 hours, and then only login for daily rewards... Except for gw. Cause I'm in A tier guild for some reason, lol. I know, this is very bad way to play and progress. I have only 2 completed m1 grids after 1,5 years of play, no eternals / evokers, my best summons are still event summons and Sr buncles, hence my only tier 4 class is berserker. But still, I like gbf, but cannot grind like many people does. My grids are more than enough for okay clear of events, even though half of my weapons are skill lvl 1, cause interface in gbf that bad, that even with six stashes of fodder it pains me to lvl weapons. The reason of this post: don't be afraid to take breaks. I have taken like 3-4 for breaks for couple of month for several reasons (life problems / gacha being dick with 7 ssr on spark, etc..). Don't feels obligated to do all dailies, or you might get burnt out as I did.
Agree! Less stress, more phew phew, and always take games moderately. Afterall, having a nice breakfast or dinner with gf/bf/family is much more important than grinding through those hellish events. You have my respect Hermit~
I won't do casino, ever, even if it unlocked every character in the game for 1 million chips. Not per character, but every character all in one 1 million chip purchase.
Hi koon, i'm currently rank 199. Here's my daily routine: 1. co-op (always first, because i tend to forget this if i start with another) 2. omega hard+ all ele 3. omega extreme+ all ele 4. omega 2 host (elements depend on next GW. Currently avatar) 5. anubis host (to farm scale) 6. prometheus host (to farm CoC) 7. Whatever the current event is 8. ultimate bahamut normal x30 (train) (only when i need material to host ultimate bahamut impossible) 9. ultimate bahamut impossible x6 (train) for 8 and 9, i usually do this at night (GMT+7) after work.
I have a very similar routine, but I only do co-op raids when I have something to farm. Preparing for next guild war too, grinding for avatar animas :D
May I ask how you usually done HL.Ult.Baha train ? I wish I can craft some extra baha wep or maybe extra gold to spend but most reference of basic requirement I encountered are very much out of my reach(Thor, Typhoon, packed HP stamp of very strict choice of action, etc. etc.) Are there any advise for those didn't posses certain summons or certain character to have any chance joining a train of HL.UBH. ?
@@Tenraio As for the summon like Thor, Typhoon, you dont really need to have them as long as someone in the raid have it you're safe (and usually someone do have). I think you'll be safe as long as you understand the raid. Read the guide first and understand the trigger.
The only thing that motivate me to stay and grow on this game are one. "My crew" . I was a casual player who doesnt have any goal in mind for this game , Basically just playing because of Waifu. Two years playing without any big improvements and rank stuck in 130. But then, 6 months ago , I tried creating my own Crew. I start recruiting people, making new friends to grow together with. And here I am. In Rank 169 , And a Danchou who brought all members on crew together as a family. Reaching our Target Tier every GW . And we are still growing. I always had this thing to say within my crewmates : "If you are getting bored to play on GBF . TAKE A BREAK! Play something else for a month or two!"

Wow, I am now part of the 15% !? I'm currently rank 209 at this point. Well... most of my daily routine is like..... 1. Clear Co-Op for Mission point to get the 1 free draw. 2. Clear Island boss that I'm low on element quartz and the one I need to improve for GW. 3. Clear all Showdown Maniac (Ifrit, Cocytus, etc) for items to trade for their summon later (for quartz... anyway.) 4. Clear Arcarum. These usually take 1 - 2 hours per day. After that it's all about event and weapons I want to craft. Sometime I try to clear 20 boxes from story event for free crystal or farm the rerun event for dama crystal and stuff. Sometimes help my crew to takeout boss or fight against Luci Hard. Sometimes just farm daily Epic boss for their newly introduce Epic weapon for some funny grid. Or sometimes try to solo boss with characters that I rarely use just for fun or test my grid. But all of this I'm just do it when I'm free. If I'm tired or not in the mood. I skip all of them because too lazy to do it. Lately I try to farm items to craft 6 John Doe and Bullets for each. Sure it's time consuming but I just mostly let it Auto-Attack when I'm doing something away or do it when I'm at my PC watching UA-cam while let it farming auto instead. Hope this will help some people here too.
Thanks for sharing George! This sounds like a healthy routine to me. Accumulating resources everyday is definitely better than non-stop grinding on weekend. I bet you must have a lot items in your inventory lol.
Well, yes I have a lot but never enough for bullets crafting or Class weapon or Arcarum summon. Actually I mostly farm it when I need it. Like... when I'm crafting for Class weapon I will farm Silver Centrum only when I come to the point that I need it. Or farming Omega II Anima only when I need them to uncap weapon or Arcarum summon. Try to farm preemptively will drain my life too much. So I only do it when I need it.
For new players: Remember to unlock Mechanic as soon as you complete chapter 63 of the story. It'll will help a lot with the farming. In GW too once you get stronger.
Hi Koon, i suggest a video where you explain how to judge a character'e efficiency or strenght without relying too much on the tier list. Something like ''what to look for when you're building comps or figure out if a character is good or not''. You're the best, cheers

I used to have this problem as well, but once you have more than enough characters to form a solid team for every element, things starting to slow down, and you can somehow begin to save for sparks .
Koon yeah thats the problem, I can't form a solid team for every element for now (especially for fire) yet I just start playing 1 year ago so maybe I can start slowly saving my crystals for spark once I have enough, that's what you mean right?
This style is literally impossible for me during GW though, because my goldbars are limited so 44 boxing is the only reasonable way to get FLB Juu10 for next GW

Here my raid schedule: Special quest: Primarch Trails for any missing Pinion 1 hr before Strike Time M1 raid: Lumi, and Celeste. Strike Time 1 M2 raid: Metatron Train and Avatar Train Strike Time 2 Akasha Train or Four Primarch Train. After ST: Free raid I want to do, Arcrarum, Farm for mats for 5☆ octo, 5☆ funf, and seraphic.
I think "reduce solo" is the most meaningful for mid player, because i think that for someone who just aquired a basic grid they tend to try to solo they want to play longer with their new grid but because of that the time that takes to finish the raid is so much longer.
Indeed Amik. I saw people soloed HL Baha, Luci, four primarch... I know these guys are strong, but does it really that meaningful to do that? I'm not too sure. If I were those guys, I would probably go play piano or spend some time reading books...
Agree, the only time I ever try to solo is when I see a significant improvement in my grid. Even then it's just 1 time to see whether I can or not. Most of the time if I can MVP or can get blue chest, I already think that's an achievement. Especially with the new update where we can set auto to trigger skill instead of just plain attack, I've been consistently getting at least blue chest during M2 raids ( I can MVP mine but my internet is not fast enough to compete for MVP in other people raids).

I'm Rank 92, my daily routine is basically random, which involving to fix my weapon grid that I messed up by clearing Magna Bosses (Extreme +) For now, my goal is to boost my Dark Grid and Water Grid plus getting EX 2 Class to try good combos So here is my daily routine: 1. Clear Hard Bosses to get the Animas 2. Magna Extreme + (Mostly all Ele but lately I'm only hitting Chev and Colo, I rarely do Yugu because the basic earth grid was completed) 3. Co-Op, for Swormaster Distinction Edit: So it was a mistake, on Swordmaster Distinction part, then I'll change it then

Started before wind gw this year, and I'm focusing on building my grid on-element from scratch for each new gw element. Currently r168, my daily raids schedule is: Priority: M1 hard+ and ex+* Next gw m1 hl * Next gw m2 Chev hl and metatron for sword lucky loots Host ubhl lobby Clear Arca tickets if limit soon Optional: Side quest material grind (toilet papers etc) Slime or AH Raidfinder on-element gw m1hl for elemental quartz Trains (m2s, GO, ubhl, faa, recently started tiamal & akasha for hsky) When I'm on off ill do 90% of these stuff, but when I'm at "work", I'll only prioritise the main stuff.
Our routines are so similar :) Clearing M1 hard to M2 is actually pretty fast, not even 20 minutes. People could save so much time if they follow this routine.
For me, just play your style. Don't cave on pressure seeing how others play the game. 3 years playing, still on level 113, just unlock one 4th class, no juuten, no complete basic grid. I just enjoy myself doing what ever I want without any daily goal. If today I want to leech magna then I'll just do that. Basically I just make sure I log in daily and play around half an hour to 2 hours during strike time. All these disadvantages compared to others yet I still looooove the game so much and can even contribute 5mil daily honor on gw.
Ah... that's the essence! It is totally fine to be slow. As long as one enjoys the game, that's more than enough. I know quite a few high-rank players who find the game too overwhelming to continue. They screw up they own wonderful journeys, stressed out, burned out.
Focusing on improving the element for the next GW or two is indeed a good goal. I have been doing it since rank 70. Now I'm rank 200+ and still doing it.
The way i go at it is that i pick 1 thing to do each play session and i accomplish that one thing. This one thing usually involves: sliming a character to 100, farming for a ccw, farming angel halo for silver relics, using up all my Arca tickets, or finishing an event (making xeno, collecting mats for ex hosts during 20box event, getting 40k tokens for that said 20box event the next day, cleaning out shop for trade events, capping out honors in PG), farming for 2 Grand Order hosts. As for how i go at grids, ill usually pick one element and only farm the daily magnas from that one element. which element i pick is either based on the adv for the next gw or what im lacking at the time (ie my earth grid sucks so im currently daily farming Alexiel). In the case of when i was farming akasha, instead of doing the daily magna i would daily farm tiamat malice and then do an akasha train (about 12 days worth of trains to finish all akasha weapons). Just doing all fights in that given element in a day will cap you out on weekly pendants so you dont need to set this as a thing to accomplish unless you proceed to not play for a few days throughout the week. then a train or two of proto baha/ubaha for regular, or rose queen/luci N for golds if you want full credit as most other things (aka magnas, m2s and t1-2 fights) instantly die in a 10-30man.
Thanks Xion. This is a good piece of advice, any goal will do actually. As long as one has direction, he finds ways to improve and advance. GBF is a little overwhelming for new players to learn everything. As the game becomes more and more complex, it's now much more difficult for new players to find their own directions amidst all the events and tasks. Hope they can be goal driven just like you.
exactly. what is your goal. well, mine just want to enjoy the game. collect the characters. and making them doable for battle. not strong, not weak, but passable for the story and events xD
I usually do those kind of daily quests and run gbf as a "side game". Some of those content can easily be done by setting the new auto attack feature where you use skills. So I pretty much just set the quest, set auto on. And go do something else for 5 minutes or so then check back and head to the next quest. That way I focus less on the game.

Hi koon, im a lv 105 player and this is my daily rountine 1) Go through 6 M1 hard and 6 M1 ex raid 2) Go arcarum 3) If i have time, i would raise my lv to 120 as soon as posible to unlock the ex+ raid because it very helpful

Thank you for these tips, Koon! I'm a rank 90+ player who have been playing for a year now. However I have been very busy the last few months (SPM exam) that I got kicked from my guild due to how inactive I was during GWs. On the rare occasions I got to play, I find it very difficult to decide on what I should do. Do I work on my grid? Forge the class champion weapon? I asked myself questions like these and ended up not doing anything. Oh, I also have been saving my crystals since the very beginning for a spark and never really keep count on them. I just realized I have over 170k now. Here's hoping I can get back into the game asap.

I just got rank 177 yesterday, and I am one of those players that only play one hour a day (yes, can't even enjoy my second ST), so I want to share my daily routine. I'm currently focusing on getting M2 grids, but because of little time and stressful drop rates (I hunted Alexiel for 6 months to get my M2 grid), I only do two M2 at a time. Here is my schedule: - Clear two Omega HL and their respective HL 2 (for example, Tiamat HL and Grimnir, then Yggdrasil and Alexiel). - Clear all Hard+ - Clear all Omega Extreme+ (I used to do just a few, but since + was released, I do them all) This basically takes my one hour, if there are a few minutes left, I join some GO raids for centrums. As for events and coop dailies, I do them before going to sleep, since they don't take much time. As for Arcarum, I let my tickets pile up at least to 10 tickets, cause that's usually how much I can do in one hour. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND this because the exp is pretty good (I use journey drops) and the drops necessary if you want arcarum summons and evokers. My guildmates often use the skip option and miss out on a lot, on the other hand, a guy that is only rank 177 and plays one hour a day is already working on my 3rd Evoker. Grand Order isn't listed on your pyramid. I find it to be at least a yellow color, since so many blue sky crystals and silver centrum are required for so many different weapons and summons, and Grande is the best raid for obtaining both.
Definitely there's no goal that progresses my account more than trying to do as best as possible in guild wars. It's the only content in the game in which having a better grid than the previous one is going to mean something.
Agree. And it would also be great, if they could make the proving grounds more rewarding based on player's ranking. The current proving grounds ranking only gives player a bragging rights, they could do something to make it more meaningful.

I understand that you need the Angel Halos from Primarch Trails, but after you get them, is there any other reason to do them? Or does the necessity of them drop to a yellow color after?
hay Koon, this might be a stupid question but how do you get those ridiculous HP and ATK numbers?? I was playing the game very early on and then lost my phone and stopped and am now getting back into it and I wanna get into it more seriously bc I rly love this game. so any advice on how to build a weapon deck and how to unlock the row 4 classes the easiest maybe would be great ♥
Hi GGIT, you will get those number as your progress and unlock EMPs at certain ranks. It is not really hard to achieve those numbers if you keep grinding and focus on optimizing your weapon decks :) You can refer to some of my videos for weapon grid guides, there are also a lot of weapon grid sources online, maybe you can find some useful information there.
Well I totally agree with you, but beside the normal grind you need to make use of special events (like legfest and magnafest) I'm rank 151 player For me my goal is to get juuten and alter ego skin so I go like this -get a juuten weapon during gw -get 1 brick from rotb and 2 golden seals -farm mates durng special events So far I recruited 4 (need prisms for feower) and got all my seraphic ssr (with 2 beast omega anima of each)

So I started GB like one week ago. I'm lvl 40 and chap 20 of the story.What should i focus on. How do you choose which element to go for ? I really want to get a Kengo fast For the moment i have a fire team base around Shiva with a Shiva as main summon too. But i want a Narmaya for a dark team. Should i focus on buil the fire team (omega farm etc ) then swap or farm all the omega?
Should always focus on building your grids first. While Kengo is a great boon to have (especially if you have S.Grea and a couple other amazing water charas), you’re going to be level locked regardless for it until you reach HL. Sure you can prep some of the ingredient to make the weapons beforehand and this honestly applies to every weapon tier in the game, but you should always focus on what’s going to give you the most benefit currently. For beginners it’s making sure you have a workable magna grid for basic content. From there make your decision on how you want to split off as by that time you should be in HL hell. I can tell you for certain though once you get to around 120 or so and leech during fes events, it should be really easy for you to grab most EXII (and row IV classes by extension) with possibly a roadblock being creeds if you don’t farm co-op much as they’re still relatively expensive on pendants compared to distinctions. Basically just make sure all your magna grids are functional. You don’t have to FLB or ULB all the grids, but if you at least have the standard elements filled with MLB SL10 grids you should be fine with most basic content if you have the characters/summons/supplementary weapons to make up until you want to work that grid in particular towards F/ULB magna or magna II, or swap if you have the dama, weapons, and summons to support a primal build.
@@Hitshiro97 Stay Row III for now and focus on getting all your element magnas to have the proper grid lines (usually 4-6 of a specific weapon) to 3 * uncap and skill level 10. After you have that you can then start to worry about building row IV/EXII as you grids should be workable for most general content, you'll be able to actually farm the level locked stuff, and you probably also have most of the mats to unlock a couple classes by then.
Kane has some really nice advices there. I personally think that new players should try to tap into all the elements. As long as you have a solid magna I or magna II grid, and have a healthy crystal stock to spark during important festival like Christmas, Lunar New Year, Summer or Year Eve, that's good enough. A good foundation can help you to travel far.
Great video as always. My only goal in this game is to complete all flb juuten (I'm at 8th flb) while doing it at my own pace. I don't usually farm everyday, I farm grid when it is needed in GW. SAVE CRYSTALS AND SPARK for collecting gala weaps for primal grid (a choice if you hate your magna grid damage). Farm mats when I have a time. Accumulate 9 arcarum tix then use it in one go. A casual mind I think. But then goes all out in GW.
Wow~ I only managed to flb 3 so far, you are way ahead of me. It is a great piece of advice to save crystal and spark for weapons, this is very important for high-rank players, but people don't seem to know this.
I'm playing on browse, there are several options for you to choose: Chrome, Vivaldi, Brave etc... they are all good. If you're playing on phone, any browser will do. ;)
Very nice Video. I took a break from the game a while ago because I was busy with IRL stuff and because I was burned out. Now coming back refreshed feels way better. I really only Play if im in the mood and yeah you can call me a slacker but for me its way better to have this sort of balance. Thx again

As a rank 123, i have also a daily routine. But, i was a big slacker all the time, so i kinda messed up everything until now. So, it's fun because i kinda do the priorities you defined. Primarchs, Hard and Extreme omegas... Often Imposible Omega, when i don't just farm slimes to level my characters. And, aside, i do all the dailies i can to get new materials for weapons -such a antique clothes for revenant weapons-. I'm not a good player, i do not play GBF in the efficient way, i do not do what i'm supposed to do, but i'm going in. Thanks, senpai.

Long time player since gbf begun, but still at rank 160+... But in a tier A crew for several years, and I mainly play just for waifus and help the crew as much as I can. So each guild war is my immediate goal, and I just aim to perform better than the previous one. Happy so far, and I think it helps that my crew is chill to casual members. I do spend a lot of time exploring how to do OTK setups with weaker grids and that is quite satisfying actually.
@@CrusaderKoon we don't win all our battles too. Just at least 2 each GW. Ever since we got the achievement of winning all rounds in finals, we kind of kicked back and relaxed. Which is cool, kind of like a semi-retirement 😂
I don't play GBF, but I found the general tips pretty useful to manage my mobile games(I was actually banking on that when I decided to check out the video, since time efficiency isn't something people cover when it comes to mobile games). Back then, I used to play hardcore and logged in the moment my stamina refilled for my main mobile games. I lost that consistency after doing that for a year and a half. Now I'm trying to get back into the habit, but with a busier schedule than before, so I think I'll have to just set a routine for myself.
Yeah Johnny, you're right. Most mobile/gacha games are very similar in nature. If you are good at one, you are good at all. And... yep, most content creators tend to focus on damage, power, showing off, shit talks, rather than tackling the true problem-- the players and the community itself. I hope more people can realise the importance of game-life balance, and take mobile games with a healthier stance.

Analytical videos help out when it comes to gameplay, and shit talks will always get attention, but that only matters if the players can keep up with everything going on in game. Sometimes players feel like the only choice for them is to reluctantly drop the game, but it might not have to be that way. Unlocking Omega Impossible+ is one of the biggest efficiency boosts you can encounter, and made rushing for rank 120 extremely rewarding for me. The x6 Rank bonus and free quest during the anniversary event propelled me most of the way to this- now I can continue grinding like the below-120 player I really am... but faster. ;) Also, do you have your Djeeta pyramid as a handy-dandy image? That would be very helpful to have a link to that included at the top of the video description.
I play everyday, but for a short time too like koon, also there are times i'm not in mood playing at all so I do minimized dailies as possible then do what I want to do irl... like playing other games and such... I never pressure myself on grinding on this game, because what ever you do, there's always a top player above you.
Well, I'm currently rank 149 and my daily routine is only do magna raids hard+ for omega animas and extreme+ for pendants and fodders. For prestige pendant, I always go to co-op and go into omega II low rank train 12-15x (rank below 170) I only do magna impossible when I don't have the key to play omega II and only do omega II whenever I want to and need to farm mats and m2 weaps. Currently I have a lot of spare time, so I do trains whatever pops out at co-op like avatar 12-15x, anubis 10-12x, four primarch 18x, etc. Here are the unpopular opinions: I don't like playing arcarum, in fact I hate it. So I collect the arcarum tix, sometime until 30, then I skip it as much as I want, then fill the arca tix again. Because of arca point is tradeable at rerun event (30k per rerun event), it doesn't bother me to trade those arca point into mats for arcarum series summon. I don't do Daily rupie gacha. I just don't like the N weapons fills my inventory. Also, because of omega II raids also gives + marks, I don't think its necessary to do daily rupie gacha. Conclusion: well just play what you think is necessary for you and play whatever you like.
About the Arcarum, same here, you got someone who hates Arcarum as much as you do. And so I skipped with all the entry tickets... and I found myself lack of materials compared with other players one day... Those skips are convenient, but they don't just take away my exp/rp, they also reduce the chance (literally no chance) for me to encounter rare monsters. It was a scary discovery for me. I would probably do a video about this finding when i'm free. But don't feel bad to skip, we busy people got so many things to do, skipping Arcarum is good, if one has more important stuff to attend to.
@@CrusaderKoon high five, koon senpai! 🙌 But tbh, I fully understand the risk of using skip. We'll have 0 chance of getting mats from rare monster, and also will lack of sephira stones and astras. But, I do it anyway because first, meeting rare monster is actually extremely rare, at least for me. So my best option is to trade it with arca points. Second, sephira stone can be gathered from events for a certain amount. Also can be traded with arca point, so it can be gathered slowly without full expedition. Third, astra is actually the hardest part, because I think I haven't seen it drop from skip, so it must be traded. But it drops from certain element boss, so it can be gathered slowly. Anyway, ULB-ing arcarum series summons and recruiting evokers are just big bonuses ingame, but without it, at least I can still enjoy playing gbf but not in competitive way
There have issue in HL raid concept, Koon. I know it important but how you few when there only you fight in raid while 17 other players is leecher? Lucius, Bahamut, Grand order is attract more player who want rush honnor to earn the item they need but for someone who just pass through rank 100 host a raid that very important to them, this so cruel and can force you surrender that raid.
Sorry to hear that, but I have a solution for this! Try to host the raid in co-op room, it really makes a difference. People there are so hungry, and they gobble up every raid they see. Like thirsty zombies...
Nice vid. Gave me a wake-up call to actually pace myself. I’m about to hit Rank 120, which will hopefully ease the burden of farming the Extreme Omega dailies (Extreme+). Once this GW passes, I’ll actually take it slow. Summer’s already started, and I got bunch of stuff to do, so I’ll consider the 1-2 hour time limit.

a tips for you... if you have yoda, you can wanpan almost all daily primal only with himself in Strike Time (except levi and celeste). that will be save lot of times
I agree using guildwar as a goal to farm towards. Especially when I was just starting to get myself a grid, and it takes too long to do raids (I play like two hours a day) I prioritize on the guildwar element. I find myself not burning out if I play consistently for two hours during ST.

Tbh, I hate seeing guide and the crushing reality that my droprate is low and I barely have time to grind, and even if I do, I still don't get the things I want. Pretty much like life. All this guide saying you should do this and that while there's barely a video or step-to-step walkthrough of what to do since rank 1. As a result I'm in rank 100ish and had there not been a bonus Magna from crate, I wouldn't be able to complete my M1 grid. Also, I do Arcarum, Archangel Trials, and M1 Raids almost daily otherwise I'd rather do events. Edit: sorry for ranting, and I find your videos helpful and been coming back to your channel from time to time
A lot of the guides are outdated since Cygames removed all need to grind early game by just handing everyone free M1 in all elements aside from Light and Dark who still need to buy 2 claws or swords from pendant shop. Best thing to do now as a new player is skip story to chapter 79, you can read up on it later at your own pace, to collect all the bonus M1 weapons. Then you equip all 6 elements with auto select teams of that element and go to side stories. Look basic grids up on the wiki for info on which Normal or EX modifier weapons to go for and where the good F2P characters are. Get the bahamut dagger/sword from "What makes the sky blue" side story. Now after you level your weapon skills you should have basic M1 grids on all elements, but you still need a real omega summon. Ideally you grind to Rank 100 at this point to unlock the Hard+ skip feature and the ability to do the basic omega raids 3 at a time which makes your grind everyday go by a lot faster. Get all your classes leveled and at rank 100 you decide on an EX2 class to unlock by building the Class champion weapon for them, they are cheaper than Row4 and row4 unlocks after you build your first class champion weapon which includes the EX2 CCWs. Unlock arcarum as soon as you can clear the fight vs inchoate world and grind that everyday or buy all the extra entry cap and stack up to 90 entries to grind at a later time. Reaching 120 as fast as possible is incredibly important to actually grinding towards something worthwhile in GBF as you cannot work towards M2 before 120. No point in having all the fancy stuff when you still have to run levi daggers or ygg swords as half of your grid. After 120 you pray for a bonus drop event to make the M2 grind easier but regardless you will eventually have to open up raidfinder and grind M2 raids en masse by hopping in, doing around 400k honors worth of dmg and then going to the next one. Meanwhile you can also leech lucilius raids to get started on your first dark opus weapons, they can "easily"(you need tons of superior merits) be uncapped to 4* without having to actually do the raid and will provide the majority of your grid's HP. Host Proto bahamut HL daily for a chance at goldbrick, you get the host mats from leeching regular baha on raidfinder. At this point you have most stuff available to you and can look up the rest on wiki if you find a weapon you don't know. My biggest recommendation for new players is to familiarize yourself with the concepts that seem incredibly obtuse at first such as grids and damage calculation. Knowing why you put a certain weapon in your grid helps a lot.
My claw grid works well without Zoey. Having been playing around with Orchid, Azazel and Vampy (Vania), they hit like truck. Azazel can deal 5mil + charge attack with 2 spines in grid, pretty powerful :D

My goal is to read the story from the game. story in this game is super good and fun to read so I don't need a best grid to read story I just need a basic of magna1 weapon grid. I was once in a seed guild before it was super stressful in the morning we will get a wake up call in the messenger chat group to farm at least 2m at 5am(in my time zone gw start at 5am-10pm). after staying in this guild for a few gw events I was burnt out so I quit and create my own guild full of people that enjoy the game as it is and not a very competitive guild(tier B). the game feel much better and I dont have to stress myself over guild ranking and score.
My point is find your own pace and place. find the guild that suit your playstyle.

That's why I insist staying in Tier B crew. Guild War is too much for me, and for events, once I hit the maximum honor or clear the reward list, I stop.
I was also in a guild that our danchou demanded reports of our honors every single day, we all had to achieve a minimum quota or we would be kicked out. Three of us got tired and created our own crew. We were a slack off crew for a long time, until more people started joining and wanted to do well in the gw, but my friends knew that I don't play much, so they never demanded anything from me. I feel bad that even newbies do better than me in the war, but everyone is understanding and they have all become my good friends from all over the world (we have people from about 7 different countries or more)!
I'd like to see updated guides for 2019 since GBF has updated so much. I know your old guides still work but maybe make like a version 2 or part 2 of your guides from 2016? A "how to build a team" guide would be great too.

I agree on the three concepts, but i wanna suggest a thing for the ones who just can't deal with the amount
set the basic raids you want to do every day and then set the raid schedule after the basic one. The second schedule is for any target weapons they want
so for example, after doing the normal omega raids, I can make a raid order of apollo, chev, odin, chev impossible, and metatron for the chances of getting lumi swords
or I can do a simple schedule of Tiamat impossible and grimnir raid in that order to get wind harps for a short one.
currently, im vying for anubis axe uncap so i need tons of animas, so i do my omega raids and then head straight to anubis. afterwards, when i have time, i just join anubis raids whenever i want.
so yeah, busy days will have that while free days will let me think of weapons to grind like revenant weapons, class weapons, and others....

Am I only one, that clears events in the first 2-3 hours, and then only login for daily rewards... Except for gw. Cause I'm in A tier guild for some reason, lol.
I know, this is very bad way to play and progress. I have only 2 completed m1 grids after 1,5 years of play, no eternals / evokers, my best summons are still event summons and Sr buncles, hence my only tier 4 class is berserker. But still, I like gbf, but cannot grind like many people does. My grids are more than enough for okay clear of events, even though half of my weapons are skill lvl 1, cause interface in gbf that bad, that even with six stashes of fodder it pains me to lvl weapons.
The reason of this post: don't be afraid to take breaks. I have taken like 3-4 for breaks for couple of month for several reasons (life problems / gacha being dick with 7 ssr on spark, etc..). Don't feels obligated to do all dailies, or you might get burnt out as I did.

Here's my daily routine:
1. co-op (always first, because i tend to forget this if i start with another)
2. omega hard+ all ele
3. omega extreme+ all ele
4. omega 2 host (elements depend on next GW. Currently avatar)
5. anubis host (to farm scale)
6. prometheus host (to farm CoC)
7. Whatever the current event is
8. ultimate bahamut normal x30 (train) (only when i need material to host ultimate bahamut impossible)
9. ultimate bahamut impossible x6 (train)
for 8 and 9, i usually do this at night (GMT+7) after work.
I have a very similar routine, but I only do co-op raids when I have something to farm. Preparing for next guild war too, grinding for avatar animas :D
May I ask how you usually done HL.Ult.Baha train ?
I wish I can craft some extra baha wep or maybe extra gold to spend but most reference of basic requirement I encountered are very much out of my reach(Thor, Typhoon, packed HP stamp of very strict choice of action, etc. etc.)
Are there any advise for those didn't posses certain summons or certain character to have any chance joining a train of HL.UBH. ?
@@Tenraio As for the summon like Thor, Typhoon, you dont really need to have them as long as someone in the raid have it you're safe (and usually someone do have). I think you'll be safe as long as you understand the raid. Read the guide first and understand the trigger.
The only thing that motivate me to stay and grow on this game are one. "My crew" .
I was a casual player who doesnt have any goal in mind for this game , Basically just playing because of Waifu. Two years playing without any big improvements and rank stuck in 130.
But then, 6 months ago , I tried creating my own Crew. I start recruiting people, making new friends to grow together with.
And here I am. In Rank 169 , And a Danchou who brought all members on crew together as a family. Reaching our Target Tier every GW . And we are still growing.
I always had this thing to say within my crewmates : "If you are getting bored to play on GBF . TAKE A BREAK! Play something else for a month or two!"

Well... most of my daily routine is like.....
1. Clear Co-Op for Mission point to get the 1 free draw.
2. Clear Island boss that I'm low on element quartz and the one I need to improve for GW.
3. Clear all Showdown Maniac (Ifrit, Cocytus, etc) for items to trade for their summon later (for quartz... anyway.)
4. Clear Arcarum.
These usually take 1 - 2 hours per day. After that it's all about event and weapons I want to craft.
Sometime I try to clear 20 boxes from story event for free crystal or farm the rerun event for dama crystal and stuff.
Sometimes help my crew to takeout boss or fight against Luci Hard.
Sometimes just farm daily Epic boss for their newly introduce Epic weapon for some funny grid.
Or sometimes try to solo boss with characters that I rarely use just for fun or test my grid.
But all of this I'm just do it when I'm free. If I'm tired or not in the mood. I skip all of them because too lazy to do it.
Lately I try to farm items to craft 6 John Doe and Bullets for each. Sure it's time consuming but I just mostly let it Auto-Attack when I'm doing something away or do it when I'm at my PC watching UA-cam while let it farming auto instead.

This sounds like a healthy routine to me. Accumulating resources everyday is definitely better than non-stop grinding on weekend. I bet you must have a lot items in your inventory lol.
Well, yes I have a lot but never enough for bullets crafting or Class weapon or Arcarum summon.
Actually I mostly farm it when I need it. Like... when I'm crafting for Class weapon I will farm Silver Centrum only when I come to the point that I need it. Or farming Omega II Anima only when I need them to uncap weapon or Arcarum summon.
Try to farm preemptively will drain my life too much. So I only do it when I need it.
For new players: Remember to unlock Mechanic as soon as you complete chapter 63 of the story.
It'll will help a lot with the farming.
In GW too once you get stronger.

I used to have this problem as well, but once you have more than enough characters to form a solid team for every element, things starting to slow down, and you can somehow begin to save for sparks .

yeah Vegas, this sounds like a good routine for me too. You must be a very resourceful player compared with me, I wish I had time to do that too.
I think "reduce solo" is the most meaningful for mid player, because i think that for someone who just aquired a basic grid they tend to try to solo they want to play longer with their new grid but because of that the time that takes to finish the raid is so much longer.

Agree, the only time I ever try to solo is when I see a significant improvement in my grid. Even then it's just 1 time to see whether I can or not. Most of the time if I can MVP or can get blue chest, I already think that's an achievement.
Especially with the new update where we can set auto to trigger skill instead of just plain attack, I've been consistently getting at least blue chest during M2 raids ( I can MVP mine but my internet is not fast enough to compete for MVP in other people raids).

I'm Rank 92, my daily routine is basically random, which involving to fix my weapon grid that I messed up by clearing Magna Bosses (Extreme +)
For now, my goal is to boost my Dark Grid and Water Grid plus getting EX 2 Class to try good combos
So here is my daily routine:
1. Clear Hard Bosses to get the Animas
2. Magna Extreme + (Mostly all Ele but lately I'm only hitting Chev and Colo, I rarely do Yugu because the basic earth grid was completed)
3. Co-Op, for Swormaster Distinction

Started before wind gw this year, and I'm focusing on building my grid on-element from scratch for each new gw element.
Currently r168, my daily raids schedule is:
Priority:
M1 hard+ and ex+*
Next gw m1 hl *
Next gw m2
Chev hl and metatron for sword lucky loots
Host ubhl lobby
Clear Arca tickets if limit soon
Optional:
Side quest material grind (toilet papers etc)
Slime or AH
Raidfinder on-element gw m1hl for elemental quartz
Trains (m2s, GO, ubhl, faa, recently started tiamal & akasha for hsky)
When I'm on off ill do 90% of these stuff, but when I'm at "work", I'll only prioritise the main stuff.
Our routines are so similar :)
Clearing M1 hard to M2 is actually pretty fast, not even 20 minutes. People could save so much time if they follow this routine.
For me, just play your style. Don't cave on pressure seeing how others play the game. 3 years playing, still on level 113, just unlock one 4th class, no juuten, no complete basic grid. I just enjoy myself doing what ever I want without any daily goal. If today I want to leech magna then I'll just do that. Basically I just make sure I log in daily and play around half an hour to 2 hours during strike time. All these disadvantages compared to others yet I still looooove the game so much and can even contribute 5mil daily honor on gw.

It is totally fine to be slow. As long as one enjoys the game, that's more than enough. I know quite a few high-rank players who find the game too overwhelming to continue. They screw up they own wonderful journeys, stressed out, burned out.
Focusing on improving the element for the next GW or two is indeed a good goal. I have been doing it since rank 70. Now I'm rank 200+ and still doing it.
Yeah, very effective. A lot of players are doing wild goose chase. Life is tough without a direction.

The way i go at it is that i pick 1 thing to do each play session and i accomplish that one thing. This one thing usually involves: sliming a character to 100, farming for a ccw, farming angel halo for silver relics, using up all my Arca tickets, or finishing an event (making xeno, collecting mats for ex hosts during 20box event, getting 40k tokens for that said 20box event the next day, cleaning out shop for trade events, capping out honors in PG), farming for 2 Grand Order hosts.
As for how i go at grids, ill usually pick one element and only farm the daily magnas from that one element. which element i pick is either based on the adv for the next gw or what im lacking at the time (ie my earth grid sucks so im currently daily farming Alexiel). In the case of when i was farming akasha, instead of doing the daily magna i would daily farm tiamat malice and then do an akasha train (about 12 days worth of trains to finish all akasha weapons).
Just doing all fights in that given element in a day will cap you out on weekly pendants so you dont need to set this as a thing to accomplish unless you proceed to not play for a few days throughout the week. then a train or two of proto baha/ubaha for regular, or rose queen/luci N for golds if you want full credit as most other things (aka magnas, m2s and t1-2 fights) instantly die in a 10-30man.

As long as one has direction, he finds ways to improve and advance. GBF is a little overwhelming for new players to learn everything. As the game becomes more and more complex, it's now much more difficult for new players to find their own directions amidst all the events and tasks. Hope they can be goal driven just like you.

I usually do those kind of daily quests and run gbf as a "side game".
Some of those content can easily be done by setting the new auto attack feature where you use skills. So I pretty much just set the quest, set auto on. And go do something else for 5 minutes or so then check back and head to the next quest. That way I focus less on the game.
Exactly, this is a good way to play. The grinds are too tedious, no point spending too much time playing.

3) If i have time, i would raise my lv to 120 as soon as posible to unlock the ex+ raid because it very helpful

Thank you for these tips, Koon! I'm a rank 90+ player who have been playing for a year now. However I have been very busy the last few months (SPM exam) that I got kicked from my guild due to how inactive I was during GWs. On the rare occasions I got to play, I find it very difficult to decide on what I should do. Do I work on my grid? Forge the class champion weapon? I asked myself questions like these and ended up not doing anything. Oh, I also have been saving my crystals since the very beginning for a spark and never really keep count on them. I just realized I have over 170k now. Here's hoping I can get back into the game asap.

I just got rank 177 yesterday, and I am one of those players that only play one hour a day (yes, can't even enjoy my second ST), so I want to share my daily routine. I'm currently focusing on getting M2 grids, but because of little time and stressful drop rates (I hunted Alexiel for 6 months to get my M2 grid), I only do two M2 at a time. Here is my schedule:
- Clear two Omega HL and their respective HL 2 (for example, Tiamat HL and Grimnir, then Yggdrasil and Alexiel).
- Clear all Hard+
- Clear all Omega Extreme+ (I used to do just a few, but since + was released, I do them all)
This basically takes my one hour, if there are a few minutes left, I join some GO raids for centrums.
As for events and coop dailies, I do them before going to sleep, since they don't take much time.
As for Arcarum, I let my tickets pile up at least to 10 tickets, cause that's usually how much I can do in one hour. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND this because the exp is pretty good (I use journey drops) and the drops necessary if you want arcarum summons and evokers. My guildmates often use the skip option and miss out on a lot, on the other hand, a guy that is only rank 177 and plays one hour a day is already working on my 3rd Evoker.

This is exactly what I'm doing too. And it is so much effective with the help of Bonito and HuangLong. Arcarum is important, and I actually discovered some scary findings if one skipped it with skip button, guess i'll talk about this when I have chance.
Grand Order isn't listed on your pyramid.
I find it to be at least a yellow color, since so many blue sky crystals and silver centrum are required for so many different weapons and summons, and Grande is the best raid for obtaining both.
Definitely there's no goal that progresses my account more than trying to do as best as possible in guild wars. It's the only content in the game in which having a better grid than the previous one is going to mean something.
Agree. And it would also be great, if they could make the proving grounds more rewarding based on player's ranking. The current proving grounds ranking only gives player a bragging rights, they could do something to make it more meaningful.

-GW relavant primarchs Raid and daily
-GW relavant Omega II and impossible
-farm mat for host Grand Order and UBH
-event maniac difficulty
-Co-op mission for the blue crystal
As for weekly when im on PC:
-Co-op Raid for element centrum
-farm horn and asmondeus Anima at least 20 for Anima and 6 for horn
-farm mat for GW relavant Jew
And that is my routine for asmondeus i only doing it if i really need to unlock a class and why i only doing Co-op in PC is playing in mobile slow and i need to activate VPN, if i doing Co-op in mobile its over when i got to join

Hi GGIT, you will get those number as your progress and unlock EMPs at certain ranks. It is not really hard to achieve those numbers if you keep grinding and focus on optimizing your weapon decks :)

I’d add UBHL and Hard Proto Baha hosts as necessary daily quests so you can get some gold bricks. UBN and Akasha are really good Rank EXP as well.

For the moment i have a fire team base around Shiva with a Shiva as main summon too.

Should always focus on building your grids first. While Kengo is a great boon to have (especially if you have S.Grea and a couple other amazing water charas), you’re going to be level locked regardless for it until you reach HL. Sure you can prep some of the ingredient to make the weapons beforehand and this honestly applies to every weapon tier in the game, but you should always focus on what’s going to give you the most benefit currently. For beginners it’s making sure you have a workable magna grid for basic content. From there make your decision on how you want to split off as by that time you should be in HL hell.
I can tell you for certain though once you get to around 120 or so and leech during fes events, it should be really easy for you to grab most EXII (and row IV classes by extension) with possibly a roadblock being creeds if you don’t farm co-op much as they’re still relatively expensive on pendants compared to distinctions.
Basically just make sure all your magna grids are functional. You don’t have to FLB or ULB all the grids, but if you at least have the standard elements filled with MLB SL10 grids you should be fine with most basic content if you have the characters/summons/supplementary weapons to make up until you want to work that grid in particular towards F/ULB magna or magna II, or swap if you have the dama, weapons, and summons to support a primal build.
@@Kanethedragon what you mean by MSL etc ? Focus on what in front on me no matter the élément ? .. So should i go for row IV or stay Row III ?
@@Hitshiro97 Stay Row III for now and focus on getting all your element magnas to have the proper grid lines (usually 4-6 of a specific weapon) to 3 * uncap and skill level 10. After you have that you can then start to worry about building row IV/EXII as you grids should be workable for most general content, you'll be able to actually farm the level locked stuff, and you probably also have most of the mats to unlock a couple classes by then.

Kane has some really nice advices there. I personally think that new players should try to tap into all the elements. As long as you have a solid magna I or magna II grid, and have a healthy crystal stock to spark during important festival like Christmas, Lunar New Year, Summer or Year Eve, that's good enough.
A good foundation can help you to travel far.

My only goal in this game is to complete all flb juuten (I'm at 8th flb) while doing it at my own pace. I don't usually farm everyday, I farm grid when it is needed in GW. SAVE CRYSTALS AND SPARK for collecting gala weaps for primal grid (a choice if you hate your magna grid damage). Farm mats when I have a time. Accumulate 9 arcarum tix then use it in one go. A casual mind I think. But then goes all out in GW.

It is a great piece of advice to save crystal and spark for weapons, this is very important for high-rank players, but people don't seem to know this.

As a rank 123, i have also a daily routine. But, i was a big slacker all the time, so i kinda messed up everything until now.
So, it's fun because i kinda do the priorities you defined. Primarchs, Hard and Extreme omegas... Often Imposible Omega, when i don't just farm slimes to level my characters.
And, aside, i do all the dailies i can to get new materials for weapons -such a antique clothes for revenant weapons-.
I'm not a good player, i do not play GBF in the efficient way, i do not do what i'm supposed to do, but i'm going in.

Long time player since gbf begun, but still at rank 160+... But in a tier A crew for several years, and I mainly play just for waifus and help the crew as much as I can. So each guild war is my immediate goal, and I just aim to perform better than the previous one. Happy so far, and I think it helps that my crew is chill to casual members. I do spend a lot of time exploring how to do OTK setups with weaker grids and that is quite satisfying actually.
I want to take home a crewmate just like you. My current guild is good, pretty casual, but not enough carriers to help winning gw lol.

I don't play GBF, but I found the general tips pretty useful to manage my mobile games(I was actually banking on that when I decided to check out the video, since time efficiency isn't something people cover when it comes to mobile games). Back then, I used to play hardcore and logged in the moment my stamina refilled for my main mobile games. I lost that consistency after doing that for a year and a half. Now I'm trying to get back into the habit, but with a busier schedule than before, so I think I'll have to just set a routine for myself.
Yeah Johnny, you're right. Most mobile/gacha games are very similar in nature. If you are good at one, you are good at all.
And... yep, most content creators tend to focus on damage, power, showing off, shit talks, rather than tackling the true problem-- the players and the community itself. I hope more people can realise the importance of game-life balance, and take mobile games with a healthier stance.

Analytical videos help out when it comes to gameplay, and shit talks will always get attention, but that only matters if the players can keep up with everything going on in game. Sometimes players feel like the only choice for them is to reluctantly drop the game, but it might not have to be that way. There's also the darker side to it where people ruin their own life without realizing it, and end up only learning from their mistakes afterward. After that, they drop the game to never make that mistake again. Considering how popular gacha games tend to have a large playerbase, having players help each other out with these issues will benefit the longevity of both the community and game.

Unlocking Omega Impossible+ is one of the biggest efficiency boosts you can encounter, and made rushing for rank 120 extremely rewarding for me. The x6 Rank bonus and free quest during the anniversary event propelled me most of the way to this- now I can continue grinding like the below-120 player I really am... but faster. ;)
Also, do you have your Djeeta pyramid as a handy-dandy image? That would be very helpful to have a link to that included at the top of the video description.
I play everyday, but for a short time too like koon, also there are times i'm not in mood playing at all so I do minimized dailies as possible then do what I want to do irl... like playing other games and such... I never pressure myself on grinding on this game, because what ever you do, there's always a top player above you.
Exactly, it is too overwhelming for one to become a top player. Too much time and resources needed, and average human won't do that...
Well, I'm currently rank 149 and my daily routine is only do magna raids hard+ for omega animas and extreme+ for pendants and fodders. For prestige pendant, I always go to co-op and go into omega II low rank train 12-15x (rank below 170)
I only do magna impossible when I don't have the key to play omega II and only do omega II whenever I want to and need to farm mats and m2 weaps. Currently I have a lot of spare time, so I do trains whatever pops out at co-op like avatar 12-15x, anubis 10-12x, four primarch 18x, etc.
Here are the unpopular opinions: I don't like playing arcarum, in fact I hate it. So I collect the arcarum tix, sometime until 30, then I skip it as much as I want, then fill the arca tix again. Because of arca point is tradeable at rerun event (30k per rerun event), it doesn't bother me to trade those arca point into mats for arcarum series summon. I don't do Daily rupie gacha. I just don't like the N weapons fills my inventory. Also, because of omega II raids also gives + marks, I don't think its necessary to do daily rupie gacha.
Conclusion: well just play what you think is necessary for you and play whatever you like.
About the Arcarum, same here, you got someone who hates Arcarum as much as you do. And so I skipped with all the entry tickets... and I found myself lack of materials compared with other players one day...
Those skips are convenient, but they don't just take away my exp/rp, they also reduce the chance (literally no chance) for me to encounter rare monsters. It was a scary discovery for me. I would probably do a video about this finding when i'm free.
But don't feel bad to skip, we busy people got so many things to do, skipping Arcarum is good, if one has more important stuff to attend to.

But tbh, I fully understand the risk of using skip. We'll have 0 chance of getting mats from rare monster, and also will lack of sephira stones and astras.
But, I do it anyway because first, meeting rare monster is actually extremely rare, at least for me. So my best option is to trade it with arca points.
Second, sephira stone can be gathered from events for a certain amount. Also can be traded with arca point, so it can be gathered slowly without full expedition.
Third, astra is actually the hardest part, because I think I haven't seen it drop from skip, so it must be traded. But it drops from certain element boss, so it can be gathered slowly.
Anyway, ULB-ing arcarum series summons and recruiting evokers are just big bonuses ingame, but without it, at least I can still enjoy playing gbf but not in competitive way
There have issue in HL raid concept, Koon. I know it important but how you few when there only you fight in raid while 17 other players is leecher? Lucius, Bahamut, Grand order is attract more player who want rush honnor to earn the item they need but for someone who just pass through rank 100 host a raid that very important to them, this so cruel and can force you surrender that raid.

Try to host the raid in co-op room, it really makes a difference. People there are so hungry, and they gobble up every raid they see. Like thirsty zombies...

I agree using guildwar as a goal to farm towards. Especially when I was just starting to get myself a grid, and it takes too long to do raids (I play like two hours a day) I prioritize on the guildwar element. I find myself not burning out if I play consistently for two hours during ST.
Yeah exactly, playing without a goal is scary. One may spend hours playing around with weapon calculator, and get nothing done after a whole day.

Tbh, I hate seeing guide and the crushing reality that my droprate is low and I barely have time to grind, and even if I do, I still don't get the things I want. Pretty much like life.
All this guide saying you should do this and that while there's barely a video or step-to-step walkthrough of what to do since rank 1. As a result I'm in rank 100ish and had there not been a bonus Magna from crate, I wouldn't be able to complete my M1 grid. Also, I do Arcarum, Archangel Trials, and M1 Raids almost daily otherwise I'd rather do events.

No worries bro, life and games are alike, they do suck sometimes. I can relate :)
A lot of the guides are outdated since Cygames removed all need to grind early game by just handing everyone free M1 in all elements aside from Light and Dark who still need to buy 2 claws or swords from pendant shop.
Best thing to do now as a new player is skip story to chapter 79, you can read up on it later at your own pace, to collect all the bonus M1 weapons.
Then you equip all 6 elements with auto select teams of that element and go to side stories.
Look basic grids up on the wiki for info on which Normal or EX modifier weapons to go for and where the good F2P characters are.
Get the bahamut dagger/sword from "What makes the sky blue" side story.
Now after you level your weapon skills you should have basic M1 grids on all elements, but you still need a real omega summon.
Ideally you grind to Rank 100 at this point to unlock the Hard+ skip feature and the ability to do the basic omega raids 3 at a time which makes your grind everyday go by a lot faster.
Get all your classes leveled and at rank 100 you decide on an EX2 class to unlock by building the Class champion weapon for them, they are cheaper than Row4 and row4 unlocks after you build your first class champion weapon which includes the EX2 CCWs.
Unlock arcarum as soon as you can clear the fight vs inchoate world and grind that everyday or buy all the extra entry cap and stack up to 90 entries to grind at a later time.
Reaching 120 as fast as possible is incredibly important to actually grinding towards something worthwhile in GBF as you cannot work towards M2 before 120.
No point in having all the fancy stuff when you still have to run levi daggers or ygg swords as half of your grid.
After 120 you pray for a bonus drop event to make the M2 grind easier but regardless you will eventually have to open up raidfinder and grind M2 raids en masse by hopping in, doing around 400k honors worth of dmg and then going to the next one.
Meanwhile you can also leech lucilius raids to get started on your first dark opus weapons, they can "easily"(you need tons of superior merits) be uncapped to 4* without having to actually do the raid and will provide the majority of your grid's HP.
Host Proto bahamut HL daily for a chance at goldbrick, you get the host mats from leeching regular baha on raidfinder.
At this point you have most stuff available to you and can look up the rest on wiki if you find a weapon you don't know.
My biggest recommendation for new players is to familiarize yourself with the concepts that seem incredibly obtuse at first such as grids and damage calculation.
Knowing why you put a certain weapon in your grid helps a lot.

My claw grid works well without Zoey.
Having been playing around with Orchid, Azazel and Vampy (Vania), they hit like truck. Azazel can deal 5mil + charge attack with 2 spines in grid, pretty powerful :D
