I've had two CK treatments to my spine where my cancer metastasized. Almost zero side effects! I nicknamed the machine "Fluffy" just because it sounded much less intimidating!lol!
I have an appointment to get Spaceoar and then begin SBRT For me it is best because of my severe leg and back pain. While on my back it is very painful so 45 treatments is scary. i can handle a 5 or so cyberknife over IMRT My fear is urinary retention
had focal HIFU that eliminated the tumor. follow up MRI showed nothing, but biopsy picked up 3+4, 4+3 in the area that was ablated. is SBRT, or IMPT an salvage option. i also read about low dose seed use focally - that is one lobe. thanks
Will you kindly explain that when size of tumour is very small, its stage is not advanced however gleason score is high, how should it be treated? Can reliance if placed on active surveillance, how far it is safe?

If you watched this you probably have been diagnosed or know someone who has been diagnosed with prostate cancer, I went through it and I am now 6 years cancer free. I am passionate about this because I find the current attitude of doctors protecting their own specialty instead of the patients best hope for a positive outcome offensive. Each treatment has it’s best application, how early or late the disease was discovered etc. There are no blanket answers. I am only writing this to hopefully warn guys about some of the things I encountered. Cyber knife is still radiation, it still passes through other tissue. And because of that you could be prone to bladder or colon cancer in a few years. There is zero radiation in HIFU or surgery, I did HIFU because I did my research and didn’t want to risk a secondary cancer. Doctors like this should be ashamed of them selves for being so misleading. Sure its very precise where it can be aimed, but its coming from the outside of the body. and its probably passing through part of the bladder on its way in or colon on its way out. By the way that also means its passing through the nerve bundle on and around the prostate as well. Don’t believe this guy, or even me. The stakes are to high, do your own research, when I was diagnosed I spoke to at least 6
paulsdrc if you don't mind my asking, did you get you have whole gland ablation or partial? Any side effects? I'm trying to decide on treatment path but awaiting 2nd biopsy for confirmation.
paulsdrc Recently diagnosed with majority of cancer in biopsy samples, no abnormalities on DRE, psa 8.14, 35cc prostate, I’m 69 yo. Just completed bone and ct scans and meeting with radiology oncologist tomorrow. With a referral pending with Stanford. Did you consult with other specialists before choosing HIFU? Still trying to wrap my head around this and found your comments very pertinent. Thank you for sharing your story. 👍🏽
